Abstract

Waste from industrial activities can be a source of pollution for the waters of Banten Bay. One source of these pollutants are heavy metals. High concentrations of heavy metals in waters can pollute the aquatic environment, endangering all organisms. Heavy metals can accumulate in aquatic environments and living organisms such as fish. The greenback mullet Planiliza subviridis (Valenciennes, 1836) is known as a fish for human consumption. Heavy metals that are contained in mullets can move to a higher trophic level within the food chain and endanger the health of humans. This study aims to analyze the accumulation of heavy metals, such as Hg, Cd, Pb, and Cu, in the flesh of greenback mullets at Bojonegara Waters of Banten Bay. The research was carried out for five months (August - October 2020 and March - April 2021). Samplings were taken from Terate River and Wadas River, which are mullet fishing areas and natural habitats of these mullets. Data analysis consisted of descriptive and quantitative analyses. The results showed that the Hg, Cd, Pb, and Cu contents were below the quality standards based on Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia (PP RI) No. 22 of 2021. The greenback mullets have experienced a moderate accumulation rate. The different rates of Cu metal accumulation in each month indicate a variation in catches with low to moderate accumulation rates. The water conditions in Bojonegara can still be seen as tolerable and still suitable for mullets usable for human consumption in a reasonable amount. Monitoring and evaluation activities need to be carried out periodically for the management of the aquatic environment in Bojonegara.

Abstract

Research on catfish filet marinade using Arabica coffee aimed to determine the best concentration of coffee was acceptable to the panelists. This research was carried out in July 2021 at the Fishery Products Processing Laboratory, FPIK Unpad. The method used in this research was an experimental method with four treatments adding different concentrations of coffee to the catfish filets, namely 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. The parameters observed consisted of organoleptic tests which included appearance, aroma, texture, and taste. The results of the research showed that the catfish filet which was marinated using Arabica coffee belonged to the category favored by the panelists. The treatment with 15% coffee concentration was preferred with a median value of appearance 7 (preferred), aroma 7, texture 7, and taste 7. Based on the Bayes method for decision making, that the panelists chose taste as an important parameter in receiving the catfish filet which was marinated using coffee, followed by aroma, texture, and appearance

Abstract

Keseimbangan energy-protein memeiliki peran penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi ikan dan meningkatkan performa pertumbuhan ikan. Limbah kulit ari kelapa memiliki potensi sebagai sumber lemak yang dapat digunakan sebagai suplemen pakan ikan. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi pengaruh minyak kulit ari kelapa terhadap laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR) dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup (SR) ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Empat pakan dengan tingkat sumber lemak yang berbeda yang diformulasikan dengan menambahkan minyak kulit ari kelapa pada pakan ikan komersial pada level 0%, 2%, 4%, dan 6% selama 35 hari. Laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR) tertinggi yang diamati pada ikan didapatkan pada ikan yang diberi minyak kelapa pada tingkat 2% dan 4% dibandingkan perlakuan yang lainnya (P 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minyak kelapa sebanyak 2% merupakan level yang direkomendasikan sebagai suplemen pada pakan ikan nila yang ditunjukan dengan laju pertumbuhan spesifik yang baik.

Abstract

Kombinasi probiotik dan tepung pisang merupakan bahan tambahan pakan yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar optimum penambahan kombinasi tepung pisang dan probiotik pada pakan terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup ikan nila. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2022 – Mei 2022 di Kawasan Perikanan Darat Ciparanje Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Padjadjaran Kampus Jatinangor. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan pola Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah A kontrol (tanpa tepung pisang dan probiotik), B (tepung pisang 2,5 g/kg dan probiotik 10 g/kg), C (tepung pisang 5 g/kg dan probiotik 10 g/kg), D (tepung pisang 7,5 g/kg dan probiotik 10 g/kg), E (tepung pisang 10 g/kg dan probiotik 10 g/kg). Ikan yang digunakan adalah benih ikan nila. Wadah pemeliharaan yang digunakan adalah hapa berukuran 1 m3 sebanyak 15 buah dengan kepadatan 20 ekor ikan tiap perlakuan dan lama pemeliharaan selama 40 hari. Jumlah pakan yang diberikan sebanyak 3% dari biomassa ikan. Data hasil pengamatan panjang dan bobot dianalisis dengan menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%, apabila terdapat perbedaan yang nyata maka dilakukan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar optimum penambahan kombinasi tepung pisang dan probiotik pada pakan yang terbaik untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup ikan nila berada pada perlakuan tepung pisang 7,5 g/kg pakan dan probiotik 10 g/kg pakan.

Abstract

Tepung ikan merupakan salah satu komponen pakan ikan yang memiliki harga tinggi, sehingga diperlukan upaya untuk mencari alternatif pengganti dari sumber alam sekitar sehingga harga pakan menjadi lebih ekonomis. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Hatchery Laboratorium Akuakultur, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Padjadjaran, sedangkan analisis proksimat bahan pakan dan pakan uji, pembuatan tepung ikan sapu-sapu dilakukan Laboratorium Kimia dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan tepung ikan sapu-sapu dalam pakan buatan terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan ikan patin (Pangasius sp.) sebagai salah satu upaya alternatif penyediaan sumber protein dalam pakan ikan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri dari 5 (lima) perlakuan dan masing-masing diulang 3 (tiga) kali. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah penambahan tepung ikan sapu-sapu dalam pakan buatan sebanyak 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% dan 20%. Parameter yang diamati pada akhir penelitian meliputi pertumbuhan mutlak, tingkat konsumsi dan kelangsungan hidup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung sapu-sapu sebesar 10% dalam pakan memberikan hasil terbaik, dimana pertumbuhan mutlak ikan patin sebesar 1.88 gram, konsumsi 10.46 gram/hari, dan sintasan sebesar 97,7%. Berdasarkan pengamatan, penggunaan tepung sapu-sapu sampai tingkat 20% dalam pakan tidak menimbulkan pengaruh negatif terhadap kelangsungan hidup ikan patin, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti tepung ikan alternatif dalam pakan ikan.

Abstract

Based on the mission of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), namely about sustainability where one of the focuses of realization efforts carried out is to improve the sustainability of capture and aquaculture businesses. The potential of ??ng waters can be developed including ?d?l?h d? freshwater waters (rivers, lakes, ponds), brackish waters (ponds) and marine waters (beaches and high seas). The noble mission is also outlined in the implementation of the 6th nawacita, namely fisheries resource management directed through sub-agendas: Acceleration of national economic growth through increasing fishery products, namely through improving the quality, added value and innovation of fisheries technology, improving the quality of fishery facilities and infrastructure, improving fisheries governance and sustainable fisheries management.  This study aims to analyze  the diversity of the types of circular net fishing equipment in West Java Province, especially the marine waters of the North West Java region, the productivity value of ring nets based on the type and classification of fishing vessel sizes authorized by the Provincial Government, and  productivity and level of environmental friendliness of ring nets used in West Java Province, especially the sea waters of the northern region of West Java.  The study areas studied were the northern coastal areas in West Java, namely Bekasi Regency, Karawang Regency, Subang Regency, Indramayu Regency, and Cirebon Regency. This activity was carried out for one month, namely July 2022.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of applying papain enzyme to functional enzyme feed (PFE) with optimal doses to produce the highest growth of pomfret in floating net cages, Pangandaran Regency. This research was conducted from September 2022 to December 2022 with 60 days of fish rearing. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were A (artificial feed containing 5% papain enzyme in PFE), B (artificial feed containing 3.75% papain enzyme in PFE), C (artificial feed containing 2.5% papain enzyme in PFE), D (artificial feed containing 1.25% papain enzyme in PFE), and E (control). The effect of each treatment was tested by analysis of variance (ANOVA) F test at a 5% test interval, if there was a significant difference it was continued with Duncan's multiple range test. The parameters observed in this study included fish survival (SR), Daily Growth Rate (LPH), Feeding Efficiency (EPP), and water quality at the study site. The results obtained from this study were the use of functional enzyme feeds to increase fish survival (SR), Daily Growth Rate (LPH), Feeding Efficiency (EPP), and water quality at the study site. The highest growth value in this study was in treatment A (artificial feed containing 5% papain enzyme in PFE) with LPH of 3.25 ± 0.112 %, EPP of 80 ± 6.164 %, SR of 100%, and the range of water quality in the location research namely dissolved oxygen (DO) levels ranging from 5.6 to 6.7 mg/L, temperature ranging from 27 to 29 o C, pH ranging from 7 to 8, and salinity ranging from 32 to 34 ppt.

Abstract

Abstract. This research was conducted on the east coast of Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan on October  to November 2011 using survey methods and literatures review. Primary data obtained by direct observation at research location and performing direct interview with various parties; like fishermen, ship owner, TPI officials and other stakeholders in Kotabaru. The result of direct interview obtained that fishing gear to Tembang Fish (including Lemuru) are lift net and mini purse seine. Based on Standardization Efforts formula the most effective fishing gear for catching Lemuru in Kotabaru District is Purse Seine. Socialization needed to fishers that the recommended tool for catching lemuru in Kotabaru District is the purse seine with fishing fleet size 3 GT – 10 GT.Keywords: fishing gear, lemuru fish, Kotabaru, purse seine

Abstract

Lobster (Palinuridae) merupakan salah satu biota laut yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Data statistik perikanan indonesia tahun 2012 menunjukkan bahwa lobster menempati urutan keempat komoditi ekspor tertinggi setelah udang penaeus. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan budidaya lobster adalah salah satu materi yang perlu diintroduksikan kepada para calon pembudidaya. Adapun materi yang diberikan yaitu budidaya lobster laut secara umum, pengenalan umum kja modern dan pedoman pemanfaatannya, teknik budidaya benih-benih lobster (bbl) atau pendederan, teknik budidaya lobster remaja/pembesaran, teknologi pakan dan pengendalian parasit dan penyakit. Kegiatan pelatihan secara teori dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi serta pelatihan praktik dilakukan dengan cara demonstrasi dan ujicoba oleh peserta di lapangan. Pemberian Pre-test dan post test dilakukan sebagai tolak ukur materi yang disampaikan dapat diterima dengan baik. Diharapkan hasil dari pelatihan ini akan bermanfaat bagi diri mereka masing-masing dalam mengembangkan kemampuan dan keterampilan dalam bidang perikanan khususnya dalam berbudidaya lobster.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of submerged cage depth on the growth of green lobsters (Panulirus homarus) in Vietnamese-style cultivation on the East Coast of Pangandaran. The submerged cage was intended so that the lobsters are not disturbed by the situation/water quality in the upper layer of the water. The research method used a completely randomized design using 3 submerge cage depth treatments and 4 repetitions with different ones, A (2 meters); B (3.5 meters); and C (5 meters). Lobster maintenance was carried out for 40 days using a submerged cage with a diameter of 80 cm and a height of 90 cm. Each cage contains 10 lobster seeds measuring 40 g. Frequency of feeding 2 times a day. The amount of test feed given was 20% of the lobster weight each day. Measurement of water quality as supporting data was carried out at the beginning and end of the research. Sampling was done every 10 days and the observed parameters were growth rate, feed conversion ratio (FCR), and feed efficiency (FE). Lobster growth performance showed that treatment C (placement of cages at a depth of 5 meters) was the best among the others, as well as the daily growth rate (LPH) of 1.35%, feed conversion ratio (FCR) of 12.8, and feed efficiency ( EP) of 8.6%. The water quality in the submerged cage with a depth of 5 meters was DO 5.22 mg/L, the water temperature was 28 Celsius, pH was 7 and salinity was 34 ppt.
