Abstract

This study was designed to identify the misconceptions in biology textbooks of class XI used by the students of senior high school in Banda Aceh. The method used was descriptive method. The instrument used was observation sheet. The results showed that the Biology textbooks used by the students have some misconceptions. The highest misconceptions was found in the topic of skeletal system (27%), circulatory system (25%) and the lowest one was found in the topic of cell (9%).

Abstract

This study was designed to determine the effort of learning through constructivism-based module to overcome student’s misconceptions of Cell concept in SMAN 2 Sabang. The data collection was conducted in 2016, July to August. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. The research was conducted in three classes, i.e. XI IA 1, 2 and 3 with 80 students in total. The instrument used was constructivism-based module and pretest-posttest diagnostic tests with CRI answer sheet to assess the comprehension levels of students. Data was analyzed using the percentage formula. Analysis for student’s comprehension showed 69.20% students understand the concept, 25.65% didn’t understand the concept and 5.15% of students experiencing misconceptions. It was concluded that learning through constructivism-based module was effective in order to overcome student’s misconceptions of cell concepts in SMAN 2 Sabang.

Abstract

This study was designed to know the implementation of discovery-based learning modules to resolve misconceptions. The data were collected on June, 2016. An experimental method with pretest posttest control group design was conducted at MAN Darussalam. The samples were students of class XI IA 1 as the control class and students of class XI IA 3 as the experimental class. The instrument used was a test to measure students’ misconceptions. To analyze the data, the researcher used percentage formula. The results showed that the concept of chemical components of cells decreased by 25%, the concept of the structure and function of cells decreased by 15%, the concept of animal and plant cell organelles decreased by 6% misconceptions and the concept of transport through the membrane increased by 2%. It was concluded that the discovery-based learning modules could solve students’ misconceptions in the cell concepts at MAN Darussalam.

Abstract

A study has been conducted to determine the differences in motivation and student learning outcomes by using video media and by conventional learning on Human Skeletal System subject at SMAN 1 Peukan Baro in Pidie Regency in 2016/2017 school year. The population of this study was 46 students. The entire population was selected as a research sample that is 23 students for the experimental class and 23 students for the control class. Motivation data and learning outcomes were collected through a pretest and posttest questionnaire. The learning outcomes were analyzed using the F test and Mann Whitney. The results showed that motivation and learning outcomes differed significantly between students who used video media learning and students who were teached conventionally with a P value of 0,000 < 0.05. In conclusion there are significant differences in motivation and learning outcomes between students who use video media learning and students who use conventional learning methods especially on the topic of the Human Skeletal System.

Abstract

The study entitled “The Implementation of the Lesson Study Based Learning toward the Teachers’ Pedagogical Competence and Science Process Skill of Biology Teachers’ at SMA Negeri 11 and MA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh”. It aimed to describe the teachers’ pedagogical competence and Science Process Skill of Biology teachers at SMA Negeri through lesson study focusing on the product learning instruments. The data analysis the pedagogical and science process skill was using descriptive percentage in qualitative. The study result of the pedagogical competence of biology teachers’ through the lesson study atSMA Negeri 11 and MA 3 Banda Aceh were running well in which the value of pedagogical competence at SMA Negeri 11 was 99% (very good category) and MA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh was 92% (good category). The teachers’ science process skill overall was very good category, with the score 72 for model teacher at SMA 11 Banda Aceh and 67 for model teacher at MAN 3 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was designed to determine the effect aqueous extract of Lannea coromandelica leaf at concentrations of erythrocytes and leukocytes in peking duck (Anas platyrhynchos). Experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of 3 experimental treatments, each consisted of 8 ducks i.e., P0 (control), P1 (given aqueous extract of Lannea coromandelica leaf as much as 780 mg / mL / day / kg body weight), P2 (given aqueous extract of Lannea coromandelica leaf as much as 1560 mg / mL / day / kg body weight). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the aqueous extract of Lannea coromandelica significant effect (p <0.01) in concentrations of erythrocytes peking duck, but had no effect (P>  0.01) in concentrations of the leukocytes. Average erythrocytes in all treatments, 2081667-2300000 per mm 3. The average number of leukocytes in all treatments, 23175-23500 per mm3. It was concluded that the aqueous extract of Lannea coromandelica leaf have effect on the increase concentrations of erythrocytes peking duck (Anas platyrhynchos).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi mukopolisakarida atau karbohidrat yang bersifat asam pada ovarium dan uterus tikus denagn pewarnaan Alcian Blue. Pembuatan preparat histologis dengan menggunakan metode Kiernan. Pewarnaan Alcian Blue (AB) pada Ph 2,5 akan mewarnai inti dan sitoplasma, dimana inti akan terwarnai merah dan sitoplasma akan terwarnai biru. Respon komponen sel/jaringan ovarium dan uterus terhadap pewarnaan Alcian Blue (AB)  pada Ph 2,5 ditunjukkan oleh warna biru pada sitoplasma dan warna merah muda/magenta pada inti sel. Preparat histologis jaringan ovarium yang diwarnai dengan pewarnaan Alcian Blue (AB) pH 2,5 ditemukan senyawa mukopolisakarida pada sitoplasma sel-sel granulosa dan sitoplasma oosit folikel tersier. Preparat histologis jaringan uterus yang diwarnai dengan pewarnaan Alcian Blue (AB) pH 2,5 terdapat senyawa mukopolisakarida pada sitoplasma sel-sel endometrium uterus. Kata kunci:  Senyawa Mukopolisakarida. Abstract

The learning process has not emphasized the development of skills; this is because in learning students tend to memorize concepts so that learning outcomes and self-efficacy are not trained optimally. The formulation of the problem in this study is: is there a difference in learning outcomes and student self-efficacy between the use of the Problem Base Learning model combined with the E-STEM-based Student Worksheet with the Problem Base Learning model on environmental pollution material at MAN Banda Aceh? This research is quantitative with an experimental research approach. The research design used was pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students of class X MAN 3 Banda Aceh, totaling 84. The sampling technique used a total sampling of 84 students. The instrument used to measure learning outcomes is multiple choice questions using 30 questions and self-efficacy is measured using a questionnaire. Data analysis of learning outcomes and self-efficacy of students using independent sample t-test at a significant level of 0.05. The results showed that there were differences in student learning outcomes and self-efficacy after applying the Problem Base Learning model combined with the E-STEM-based Student Worksheet on environmental pollution materials at MAN Banda Aceh

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in students' learning motivation with the application of the flipped classroom combined with the google classroom with conventional methods on the concept of the human circulatory system at MAN 2 Banda Aceh. The method used is quasi-experimental, with a Pretest-Posttest design. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA MAN 2 Banda Aceh, totaling 120 people. The sampling technique in this study was determined by the purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. Data analysis used an independent sample t-test. The results showed that there were differences in the application of the flipped classroom combined with the google classroom and the flipped classroom on the motivation for the concept of the human circulatory system at MAN 2 Banda Aceh. Conclusion: the application of the flipped classroom model combined with the google classroom is effective in increasing students' learning motivation compared to using conventional methods

PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM POSING DIPADU MEDIA AUDIO VISUAL TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR DAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI SISTEM ENDOKRIN DI MAS BABUN NAJAH BANDA ACEHDewi Erianti 1)., Khairil 2)., Safrida 3)1)Dosen STKIP Bumi Persada Lhokseumawe.,2) 3)Dosen Pascasarjana Universitas Syiah KualaDewi.erianti.de@gmail.com ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem posing dipadu media audio visual terhadap motivasi belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi sistem endokrin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MAS Babun Najah Kota Banda Aceh pada April 2016. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest posttest control design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada dua kelas yaitu XI MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dan XI MIA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket motivasi untuk melihat motivasi belajar siswa dan tes untuk menilai keterampilan berpikir kritis berupa soal berbentuk uraian. Analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test dengan bantuan SPSS 16.0 for windows pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa     yaitu untuk motivasi belajar 4,9152,01, untuk keterampilan berpikir kritis 4,470 2,01. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem posing dipadu media audio visual berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata Kunci: Problem posing, Media Audio Visual, Motivasi Belajar, Berpikir Kritis, Sistem Endokrin
