Abstract

Abstract

The rapid expansion of Indonesia’s halal industry requires alignment between economic growth and the principles of religious moderation, including wasaṭiyyah (balance) and maṣlaḥah (public welfare). This study analyzes how these principles are integrated into halal governance, certification, and policy frameworks while identifying structural and socio-cultural barriers that hinder their implementation. Employing a descriptive qualitative design grounded in interpretivism, the research uses document and content analysis of legal instruments (Law No. 33/2014 on Halal Product Assurance), institutional reports (BPJPH and KNEKS), and peer-reviewed literature. Triangulation was applied through cross-validation of academic, governmental, and media sources. The findings reveal that religious moderation is conceptually acknowledged yet structurally fragmented due to bureaucratic inefficiencies, inconsistent policy coordination, and limited accessibility for micro and small enterprises (MSMEs). Cultural resistance and theological diversity further constrain its application. The study contributes to the interdisciplinary discourse on Islamic governance and ethical regulation by operationalizing wasaṭiyyah and maṣlaḥah as analytical tools for inclusive halal policymaking. It recommends strengthening regulatory coordination, digitizing halal certification, and embedding moderation training within institutional programs to enhance transparency and inclusivity. Religious moderation thus emerges not merely as a moral principle but as a structural framework for sustainable halal industry development and global competitiveness

Abstract

Lamut is a traditional art form that has evolved and flourished alongside society. This performance art involves a solo theatrical presentation by an individual known as the Palamutan. Facing the threat of extinction due to modern societal dynamics, this study investigates lamut art, identifying the factors behind its decline, exploring methods for its revitalization, particularly among youth, and evaluating its contribution to national and local development, underscoring its cultural importance and need for preservation. This study highlight the rich cultural history of Lamut and its significance in the Banjar community. The study is to understand the decline of lamut, identify the factors affecting its practice, and propose methods to preserve it for future generations. The methodology employed is descriptive qualitative research, providing an explanatory framework for the findings. The study categorizes lamut into two types: entertainment lamut and therapeutic lamut. Results indicate that factors contributing to the decline include the long duration of performances, ritualistic aspects incompatible with Islamic teachings, and the marginalization of traditional arts in the face of modernity. The emphasis is that the preservation of lamut requires collaboration between artists, cultural practitioners, and relevant institutions to ensure its continuity.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital interaction among university students has created new challenges for sustaining religious moderation values in online environments. This study examines the process of internalizing religious moderation values among students of the Institut Agama Islam Bakti Negara (IAIBN) Tegal and its implications for the manifestation of their social morality in cyberspace. Amid the government’s extensive efforts to strengthen religious moderation—particularly within Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI)—the digital sphere has become a dominant arena of social interaction that presents unique psychological challenges. Employing a qualitative case-study approach, this research collected data through in-depth interviews, digital participatory observation (digital ethnography), and document analysis. The data were analyzed thematically by integrating the theoretical frameworks of value internalization and John Suler’s Online Disinhibition Effect. The findings reveal that the internalization of religious moderation values at IAIBN Tegal—implemented through initiatives such as the Rumah Moderasi and curriculum integration—has been largely successful at the cognitive level. However, the manifestation of these values in students’ social morality within cyberspace remains complex and ambivalent. Online disinhibition factors—such as dissociative anonymity, invisibility, and dissociative imagination—significantly shape students’ behavior, often creating discrepancies between the values they espouse and the actions they display online. These dynamics may lead to benign disinhibition (positive openness) that aligns with moderation values, or to toxic disinhibition (aggressiveness and intolerance) that contradicts them. This study concludes that value internalization is contextual rather than absolute; the situational forces of cyberspace can temporarily override internalized values. The findings underscore the urgency for developing a “Digital Moderation Literacy” curriculum within PTKI—one that goes beyond theological knowledge transfer and equips students with metacognitive skills to consciously recognize and manage the effects of online disinhibition.

Abstract

Wonosari Village has quite a lot of rain-fed rice fields. The use of inorganic fertilizers in rice fields can also cause damage to soil structure, decreased fertility of soil microbes, environmental contamination, crop dependency, decline in biodiversity. Liquid organic fertilizer is a solution resulting from the decomposition of organic material originating from plant residues, agro-industrial waste, animal waste and human waste which contains more than one nutrient element. The aims of this service is to train farmers in making liquid organic fertilizer so that it can replace the use of inorganic fertilizers and be applied to their rice fields. The training program was held on February 25 2024 at Embung Munggur located in Wonosari Village, Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar Regency. The method of implementing this activity is carried out in several stages including introduction, implementation and evaluation. The results of the training showed that 80% of farmers who took part in the training understood how to make POC, and 60% wanted to make POC in the future. The post test results also show that community knowledge about LOF is 20% and skills are 60%. And It is hoped that it can continue to be developed so that farmers no longer depend on inorganic fertilizers.
