Abstract

The family has an important role as the first madrasah in forming children's Islamic character, educating them to become a generation with noble morals. This article aims to analyze the role and function of the family in shaping the Islamic character of children in Indonesia. This analysis was carried out using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on PRISMA guidelines by analyzing 14 articles indexed by Scopus. The results of the analysis found five main functions of the family in shaping children's Islamic character, namely: i) religious function, which teaches religious values ​​as the basis of life; ii) love and protection function, which provides affection and a sense of security; iii) socio-cultural function, which introduces Islamic norms and culture; iv) educational function, which guides children to learn Islamic values ​​v) socialization function of Islamic values, which instills good manners and morals. These functions significantly support the formation of children's Islamic character in accordance with the goals of national education and the Independent Curriculum, which encourages synergy between formal and non-formal education. This analysis also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between families and educational institutions to strengthen the role of the family. This analysis also recommends the development of family-based education policies to create an Islamic generation with good and noble character.

Abstract

This study departs from the limitations of previous studies that rarely explore the interrelationship between hadith and ulumul hadith in the context of Islamic education content development. The purpose of this study is to further investigate the central role of hadith and ulumul hadith as the main source of content development for Islamic education. The research method used was a desk study or literature research to collect and analyze relevant literature. The results showed that the hadith provides a solid philosophical framework for understanding new concepts, enhancing Islamic education as a whole, and inculcating moral principles that encourage humans to achieve happiness in paradise. The implications of the findings support the importance of deepening the relationship between hadith, Ulumul hadith, and Islamic education content development in order to strengthen the philosophical foundation and morality in the learning process. Abstrak Penelitian ini berangkat dari keterbatasan penelitian sebelumnya yang jarang mengeksplorasi keterkaitan antara hadis dan Ulumul hadis dalam konteks pengembangan konten pendidikan Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki lebih lanjut peran sentral hadis dan ulumul hadis sebagai sumber utama perkembangan konten pendidikan Islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan atau penelitian kepustakaan untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisis literatur-literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hadis memberikan kerangka filosofis yang kokoh untuk memahami konsep-konsep baru, meningkatkan pendidikan Islam secara menyeluruh, dan menanamkan prinsip-prinsip moral yang mendorong manusia untuk mencapai kebahagiaan di akhirat. Implikasi dari temuan ini mendukung pentingnya mendalaminya hubungan antara hadis, Ulumul hadis, dan pengembangan konten pendidikan Islam guna memperkuat dasar filosofis dan moralitas dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study explores the evolution of surau as a traditional Islamic educational institution in West Sumatra across different historical periods. The surau played a crucial role as a center for religious instruction and character formation within Minangkabau society. However, socio-political and educational developments have led to functional and structural transformations. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive-historical design, the research was conducted in key regions such as Padang Panjang, Bukittinggi, Payakumbuh, and Agam. Data were collected through literature reviews, field observations, and in-depth interviews with community leaders, surau caretakers, and alumni. The findings reveal that the surau has shifted from an informal, community-based educational center to an institution increasingly integrated into formal Islamic education, such as madrasahs. Although no longer structurally dominant, the surau continues to serve as a hub for spiritual guidance and local cultural values. This study recommends revitalizing the role of the surau to complement modern Islamic education, especially in response to the challenges of globalization and the erosion of value-based frameworks within formal education systems.

Abstract

Semakin berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan diiringi dengan munculnya perubahan sosial, budaya, dan pertumbuhan ekonomi merupakan bukti bahwa teknologi dan informasi di indonesia mulai tumbuh ke arah positif. Sufisme telah melahirkan berbagai kepribadian yang besar dan mempunyai intelektual serta gagasan yang hebat salah satunya yaitu memberikan penawaran gagasan pembebasan kepada masyarakat. Keagungan sufi seringkali diukur melalui kebenaran yang diterimanya dan memiliki jalan spiritual yang bersumber pada AlQur’an dan sunnah nabi. Terdapat beberapa doktrin yang disusun oleh para sufi diantaranya yaitu doktrin yang mengkonfirmasi dan menjabarkan kebenaran sesuai dengan Al-Qur’an dan Sunnah. berkepanjangan ditambah dengan menurunnya bimbingan spiritual sehingga menyebabkan berbagai bentuk perilaku asusila yang meningkat secara drastis. Selain itu juga ditambah dengan berbagai macam situasi perkembangan zaman. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran tarekat dalam membangun spiritualitas umat islam kontemporer. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu tarekat memiliki peranan dalam membangun spiritualitas seperti moral, pendidikan, kesabaran, ketaatan, memperbaiki hubungan dengan Allah, memperbaiki hubungan dengan sesama.

Abstract

This research examines harmony in diversity and local cultural relations in Indonesia with a focus on the history of the entry of Islam, the balance of community life between religion and local culture, and efforts to build Islamic harmony in cultural diversity. The research approach used is a qualitative method with digital source-based data collection techniques. The research data was obtained through Dimensions, Google Scholar, and Publish or Perish applications to search for relevant literature, while data analysis was carried out with the help of Sciscape and VorViewers to map concept interactions and related scientific networks. The results show that the entry of Islam into Indonesia took place through trade, da'wah, and cultural assimilation that allowed Islam to adapt to local wisdom without eliminating the essence of religious teachings. The balance between Islamic teachings and local culture is reflected in various aspects of community life, including traditions, arts, and social systems that accommodate Islamic values without ignoring local cultural identity. In addition, this research found that efforts to build Islamic harmony in the diversity of local cultures in Indonesia require an inclusive approach, intercultural dialogue, and the active role of religious leaders and traditional leaders in aligning religious understanding with cultural values that have long developed in society. Thus, this research contributes to understanding how Islam and local culture can interact harmoniously without causing identity conflicts. The implications of this research are expected to serve as a basis for policy-making in building an inclusive, tolerant and civilised society, as well as a reference for further studies related to the relationship between religion and culture in the Indonesian context.

Abstract

Islam masuk ke Nusantara sebagaimana diuangkapkan oleh (Hasyimi, 1975) pertama kali ke Perlak dibawa oleh tim dakwah pimpinan nahkoda khalifah. Mereka terdiri dari orang-orang yang mempunyai ilmu pengetahuan. Sampai di Perlak mereka melakukan dakwah bil hal. Mereka mengajarkan rakyat cara bertani yang baik, cara berdagang yang berhasil, cara bertukang yang menguntungkan, cara berumah tangga yang bahagia dan sebagainya. Akhirnya rakyat sadar bahwa apa yang diberikan kepada mereka adalah dari ajaran Islam. Maka para penguasa dan rakyat dengan sukarela masuk Islam, dan pada tahun 225 H (840 M) berdirilah kerajaan Islam Perlak dengan Sultan Alaidin Syed Maulana Abdul Aziz Syah menjadi raja Islam yang pertama dan bergelar Sultan Alaidin Sayyid Maulana Abdul Aziz Syah, putra seorang anggota tim dakwah khalifah yang bernama Ali bin Muhammad bin Ja`far Shadiq yang dinikahkan dengan Makhdum Tansyuri, adik dari Syahir Nuwi. Kerajaan Samudera Pasai didirikan oleh Marah Silu, yang bergelar Sultan Malik as-Saleh, sekitar tahun 1267. Keberadaan kerajaan ini juga tercantum dalam kitab Rihlah ilal Masyriq (Pengembaraan ke Timur) karya Abu Abdullah ibn Batuthah (1304– 1368), musafir Maroko yang singgah ke negeri ini pada tahun 1345. Kesultanan Pasai akhirnya runtuh setelah serangan Portugal pada tahun 1521.

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam merupakan institusi peradaban yang telah memainkan peran sentral dalam membentuk identitas umat Islam sepanjang sejarah. Dari masa klasik hingga kontemporer, sistem pendidikan Islam mengalami dinamika yang kompleks seiring dengan perubahan sosial, politik, dan epistemologis yang melingkupinya. Dalam konteks Indonesia, transformasi pendidikan Islam tidak hanya bersifat struktural-institusional, melainkan juga ideologis dan paradigmatik, sebagaimana terlihat dari berbagai diskursus yang berkembang: mulai dari dikotomi ilmu, proyek Islamisasi ilmu pengetahuan, hingga wacana integrasi dan interkoneksi antara ilmu agama dan ilmu umum.Salah satu problem epistemologis utama yang masih mewarnai wajah pendidikan Islam kontemporer adalah dikotomi antara ilmu agama dan ilmu umum, warisan dari kolonialisme Barat yang memisahkan otoritas keilmuan spiritual dan rasional. Bahwa dualisme ini telah menyebabkan keterputusan antara nalar keislaman dan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan modern, sehingga menciptakan keterbelakangan epistemik di kalangan institusi pendidikan Islam. Dikotomi tersebut tidak hanya memengaruhi struktur kurikulum, tetapi juga menciptakan keraguan identitas akademik di kalangan pelajar dan pendidik Muslim.

Abstract

This research aims to examine and compare the roles of the two largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia, namely Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), in the fields of Islamic education, socio-religion, and religious moderation. Through a literature study method and a qualitative-descriptive approach, this research reveals the ideological characteristics, education system, and socio-religious contributions of the two organizations in shaping a moderate Islamic society. Muhammadiyah is known for its modernist and rational approach to education development and its orientation towards the purification of Islamic teachings, while NU emphasizes traditional and cultural values in developing education and socio-religious practices. In the managerial context, Muhammadiyah adopts a strategy based on a structured and efficient institutional system, focusing on improving management quality, accountability, and developing a science and technology-based curriculum. Meanwhile, NU prioritizes cultural and participatory-based strategies through pesantren and informal education with strong traditional roots, as well as establishing active community involvement in the education process. The study results show that both organizations have significant contributions in strengthening religious moderation in Indonesia through distinctive yet complementary approaches.  The collaboration of the values of modernity and traditionalism in the management of educational institutions is a strategic force in building an inclusive, adaptive and competitive Islamic education system.

Abstract

Classical Islamic educational thought holds valuable principles relevant to early childhood education, particularly within Islamic Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions in Indonesia. However, modern educational systems often overlook the historical contribution of Islamic thought in shaping children’s character. This study aims to explore the historical narrative of Islamic educational thought on children and analyze its relevance to current PAUD practices. This research adopts a qualitative approach using historical and content analysis methods. Data sources include the works of Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, and Ibn Khaldun, as well as contemporary literature on Islamic PAUD practices. The findings indicate that values such as adab, ruhiyah, compassion, and social responsibility remain highly relevant and can be contextually integrated into Islamic PAUD curricula. The study recommends revitalizing classical Islamic educational values in the development of PAUD curricula and pedagogical strategies rooted in Islamic character and spirituality.
