Abstract

This research is aimed to determine the effect of various concentrations (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mg/l) of 2,4-D (dichloropenoxy acetic acid) on callus induction of Lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala) and its somatic embryogenesis stimulated using different concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 mg/l of growth regulators, namely NAA (Naphthaleneacetic acid) and kinetin. Percentage of callus were measured and somatic embryogenesis from callus were subjected to description analysis. The results showed that callus percentage were varied from 29.34% (1 mg 2,4-D/l) at first week (white color and crumb) to 83.67% (4 mg 2,4-D/l) at fourth week (white yellowish color and compact), and embryo somatic varied from 19.33±2.52 (2 mg NAA and 0 mg kinetin/l) to 81.33±11.50 (1.5 mg NAA dan 2.0 mg kinetin/l). It can be concluded that optimum callus induction (83.67%) was recorded when concentration of 2,4-D was given at the rate of 4 mg/l. The largest number of embryos in concentration of 1.5 mg/l NAA and 2.0 mg/l kinetin, and embryo somatic 81.33±11.50.

Abstract

Turmeric and garlic phytobiotic contain bioactive substances, each of which has a function as an antifungal. The study aims to determined to test the ability turmeric and garlic phytobiotic pressed fungal colonies in the feed with different storage time. The data were analyzed by a factorial experimental design with 5 treatments 4 replications and 2 repetitions. The first factor types phytobiotic and the second factor was storage duration. R0 = basal ration (without phytobiotic), R1 = basal ration + 0.3% synthetic antifungal, R2 = basal ration + 2.5% turmeric, R3 = basal ration + 5% garlic, R4 = (basal ration + 2.5% turmeric+ 5% garlic. W0, W1, W2 and W3 respectively with storage time 0, 2, 4 and 6 weeks. Samples were taken from each experimental unit homogeneously. The results showed the average fungal colonies of garlic phytobiotic treatment (26.06±44.76 CFUx103/g) in 2-week storage time (25.20±22.52 CFUx103/g) lower than the provision of synthetic preservatives (57.75±52.03 CFUx103/g) and the control treatment (74.87±70.69 CFUx103/g). Fungal colonies increases rapidly with increasing length of time of storage. The conclusion of this study was that the additon of turmeric and garlic phytobiotic capable as an antifungal in feed.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine physicochemical characteristics of Mamoa egg. The eggs were collected about 100 eggs from Uwo uwo beach. Physical quality was observe in Animal Husbandry laboratory, Faculty of Agricultural, Khairun University. The physical characteristics observed were measuring include weight, shape, colour of eggshell, length, diameter, egg index, albumen, yolk, weight of eggshell, haugh unit, and thickness of eggshell. The chemical characteristics consist of moisture content, protein, fat content, fiber content, ash, carbohydrate, cholesterol, and antioxidant. Data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis. The result showed that physical quality of egg were weight = 97.28 g, length = 7.12 cm, diameter = 5.45 cm, index of egg = 71.89%, Percentage of yolk and albumen were 69.12% and 23.24%, haugh unit score = 68.78 and shape of egg was ovale. The chemical characteristic of egg chemical quality were protein content = 15.47%, fat content = 8.31%, carbohydrate = 25.52 %, cholesterol = 387.54 mg/100gr, and antioxidant = 49.08% dpph.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program of livestock farmer groups in Doyado Village, East Tidore District, Tidore Islands City, is a community service activity aimed at handling cow manure in Doyado Village, which is currently quite abundant in number but not well managed, so it has the potential to pollute the environment. The purpose of this activity is also to introduce organic fertilizer processing technology and familiarize the use of organic fertilizers to farmer groups in Doyado Village, who have been using cow dung without prior treatment. The methods of implementation include socialization and training, opinion polls through questionnaires, organic fertilizer processing demonstration plots, and focus group discussions. Group discussions were held to discuss the results and equalize perceptions for all participants in the process of making organic fertilizers. Through this activity, cow manure can be used by farmer groups to become organic fertilizer and during this activity can provide organic fertilizer and provide additional income for farmer groups.

Abstract

The poultry feed industry is one of the industries that has the potential to be developed. A descriptive feasibility study was conducted to examine the development of the poultry feed industry in Central Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, based on socio-cultural and socio-economic conditions. This study was conducted in Central Halmahera Regency from May to October 2021. The research method consists of preparation, pre-survey, survey, SWOT analysis, and socio-economic analysis. The results showed that the development of the animal feed industry in Tilope Village, South Weda District, Central Halmahera Regency, was feasible, while production and marketing were still technically very prospective. The needs for poultry feed so far are still imported from outside North Maluku.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan beberapa tepung daun leguminosa diantaranya kelor (Moringa oleifera), lamtoro (Leuchaena leucocephala), dan gamal (Gliricidia sepium) terhadap konsumsi, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum ayam broiler. Ayam yang digunakan adalah Day Old Chick (DOC) tipe pedaging sebanyak 80 ekor strain CP 707. Penelitian menggunakan metode experimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Terdapat 4 jenis perlakuan ransum (R0 = ransum kontrol, R1 = ransum + 5% tepung daun lamtoro, R2 = ransum + 5% tepung daun kelor dan R3 = ransum + 5% tepung daun gamal) dengan 4 ulangan. Apabila terdapat perbedaan pengaruh diantara perlakuan maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Ransum dan air minum diberikan secara ad libitum. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah konsumsi, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum ayam broiler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan 5% tepung daun kelor (R2) dalam ransum memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum ayam broiler dibandingkan penambahan 5% tepung daun lamtoro (R1) dan gamal (R3). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan agar dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang pengaruh penambahan tepung daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) terhadap konsumsi dengan penambahan lebih dari 5% dalam ransum ayam broiler.

Abstract

Desa Barataku Kecamatan Galela secara geografis terletak dibagian Utara Ibu Kota Kabupaten Halmahera Utara dan merupakan wilayah potensial sentra pengembangan komoditas pertanian dan peternakan. Jarak tempuh Desa Barataku Kecamatan Galela dengan Ibu Kota Kabupaten ±15 km, dan berjarak sekitar 130 km dari Kampus Universitas Muhamadiayah Maluku Utara di Kota Ternate. Mata pencaharian masyarakatnya selain beternak sapi bali adalah bertani palawija dan hortikultura yang mempunyai beberapa kelompok tani-ternak. Masing-masing kelompok tani-ternak ini beranggotakan 10-15 orang yang bergerak di bidang usaha pertanian dan peternakan. Selain kondisi topografi, keadaan iklim juga sangat mendukung daerah ini untuk pengembangan berbagai komoditi pertanian dan peternakan sapi potong. Kegiatan PKM ini merupakan kegiatan kolaborasi tim PKM Universitas Muhammadiyah Maluku Utara dan Universitas Khairun dengan mitra yaitu kelompok tani ternak Mamuya di Desa Barataku Kecamatan Galela Kabupaten Halmahera Utara. Salah satu masalah yang disepakati untuk diselesaikan melalui program PKM ini adalah dibidang peternakan yaitu memberikan penyuluhan dan pengetahuan tentang pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah pertanian dan peternakan. Target dan luaran dari kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik adalah kelompok mitra memahami cara pembuatan pupuk organic serta mengaplikasikannya pada tamanan sayur. Untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman kelompok peternak mitra, dirancang suatu evaluasi yang dilakukan di awal (pre test) dan akhir  kegiatan (post test). Hasil kegiatan PKM berupa penyuluhan dan pelatihan dapat meningkatkan secara nyata pengetahuan anggota mitra terhadap pengetahuan tentang  pembuatan pupuk organik dan penggunaannya pada tanaman sayur.

Abstract

Tujuan dilakukannya kegiatan PPUPIK Broiler Organik adalah untuk memaksimalkan penggunaan limbah-limbah pertanian dan perikanan di wilayah Maluku Utara sebagai pakan broiler guna menekan harga pakan, serta memanfaatkan tanaman herbal seperti kunyit (Curcuma domestica), temu lawak  (Curcuma xantharrhiza Roxb), daun pala (Myristica frangrans Houtt) dan cengkeh  (Syzygium aromaticum L) sebagai fitobiotik pengganti antibiotik sehingga didapatkan broiler organik yang sehat dan aman untuk dikonsumsi. Pemakaian antibiotik yang luas menyebabkan residu dalam produk ternak. Resistensi mikroba patogen pada manusia terhadap antibiotik merupakan masalah utama kesehatan masyarakat. Industri peternakan harus mengurangi penggunaan antibiotik pada hewan produksi dan mencari alternatif lain dalam pengendalian penyakit untuk menggantikan pemakaian antibiotik. Tanaman herbal dapat digunakan sebagai fitobiotik pengganti antibiotik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bahwa penggunaan limbah pertanian dan perikanan serta tanaman herbal dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan produktifitas broiler serta mengurangi biaya produksi.

Abstract

Ayam petelur merupakan ayam-ayam betina dewasa yang di pelihara khusus untuk di ambil telurnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) pada ransum yang berbeda terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum ayam petelur fase starter. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-April 2018 di Kandang Percobaan Program Studi Peternakan yang bertempat di jalan kelurahan Tabona Ternate Selatan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pada ayam petelur fase starter umur 0-6 minggu sebanyak 80 ekor dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu) R0 = Pakan komersial  (Kontrol), R1 = Tepung daun sukun 2% + Pakan komersial 98 %, R2 = Tepung daun sukun 4% + Pakan komersial 96 %, R3 = Tepung daun sukun 6% + Pakan komersial 94 % dan R4 = Tepung daun sukun 8% + Pakan komersial 92 %. Variabel  parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini yaitu konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tepung daun sukun dapat diberikan dalam ransum ayam petelur sampai 4% dan pemberian tepung daun sukun 4% dalam ransum menghasilkan konsumsi dan konversi ransum serta pertambahan bobot badan lebih baik dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol atau tanpa penambahan tepung daun sukun
