Abstract

While not yet regulated at the legislative level, traditional medicine therapy has gained legal recognition at the ministerial level through Ministerial Regulation No. 6 of 2016 and No. 37 of 2017. These legal frameworks significantly facilitate scientific exploration for research and practical application of herbal medicine. Promoting such practices is particularly urgent for rural communities that face barriers to accessing modern healthcare services or financial constraints. The community engagement program aimed to introduce medicinal plants growing in situ while reinforcing traditional healing practices already embedded within the local community. Conducted on January 18, 2025, the initiative involved 15 participants, most of whom were women, reflecting inclusive access to educational activities. The core activities comprised lectures and interactive discussions on local biodiversity, medicinal plant identification, cultivation techniques, and traditional herbal processing. Pre- and post-activity evaluations revealed a significant improvement in cognitive knowledge and affective attitudes. The average cognitive scores for topics such as biodiversity awareness and medicinal plant cultivation increased from the "low-moderate" to the "good-excellent" category, while affective scores regarding the perceived benefits of herbal medicine rose from "poor" to "excellent." Abstract

Avifauna is one of the biodiversity that has a role in the ecosystem, namely as a seed spreader, helps pollination, and as an environmental bioindicator. The Elephant Training Center (PLG) is not only a conservation centre for Sumatran elephants but also serves as a habitat and preserves the diversity of all animals including avifauna species. One form of conservation efforts towards avifauna is to record the diversity of the avifauna species present in that location. This study aims to determine the diversity of bird species found in the Way Kambas National Park PLG. The study was conducted using the point count method at three observation locations: garden area, grassland, and swamp area with three repetitions. The results of the study found 33 species from 21 families (727 individuals) with moderate species diversity values (1 <H '<3). The diversity of bird species affects the existence of some species in a habitat so that it affects the quality of habitat and plays an important role as a bioindicator in an ecosystem. Bird conservation efforts need to be carried out and supported by all parties to maintain the existence of birds in their natural habitat. Abstract

Amphibian is a vertebrate animal whose life is always associated with water. Anura ordo has the most extensive spread in Indonesia. A study on amphibians in Way Kambas National Park has never been conducted. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to find out the diversity, evenness, dominance, temperature, and humidity of three various habitats of amphibians of Anura ordo in Rawa Bunder National Park Management Resort (RPTN Rawa Bunder), Way Kambas National Park, Indonesia. Amphibian data was collected using the visual encounter survey and line transect methods. The results of this research discovered amphibians in 6 families, which consisted of 13 species of amphibians based on observations in three different habitat types. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H') was categorized as moderate with the H' of 1.91–2.27. The evenness index (E) was considered stable, ranging between 0.87–0.91. The dominant index (D) falls into the low dominance group, with the D value ranging between 0.13–0.19. This shows that no dominant species is present. Abstract

Perception is an essential factor influencing attitudes and behavior toward the forestry partnership program. Apart from that, a person’s perception can positively or negatively impact the program. The forestry partnerships program is a policy that is the basis of a community empowerment program that provides legal access for local communities to meet the needs of non-timber forest products originating from the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (BBSNP) area. The research was conducted to identify the role of partnership members’ perceptions as a mediating variable in achieving goals and obtaining benefits as partnership members in the Semaka Region I National Park Management Sector, BBSNP. Data was collected using a questionnaire, and hypothesis testing was performed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model statistical analysis using SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results showed that perception does not play a mediating variable in achieving goals and obtaining benefits as a member of the partnership. The community benefits from the forestry partnership program if they become members even without having a positive perception of the program. Thus, it is possible that they will not commit properly because the important thing is that they have become members because it will be secure and no longer be considered as an encroachment. This means that it is legal access that makes people want to become members of the partnership. So, to increase positive perceptions and ensure the program’s goal is achieved, namely preserving forests and ensuring the fulfillment of people’s lives, it is necessary to increase the intensity of activities that influence people’s perceptions, for example, socialization, mentoring, and coaching. Abstract

ABSTRACT In the JKN-KIS Program, FKTP acts as a gate keeper where FKTP is responsible for providing basic health services and functioning optimally according to its competency standards. The unequal availability of health facilities and very varied geographical conditions give rise to the potential for widening inequality in health utilization. The Human Development Index (HDI) is an important indicator for measuring success in efforts to build the quality of human life (society/population), one of the elements that make up the HDI is health. Good health is supported by health facilities and good environmental health conditions so that it can reduce environmental-based morbidity rates, so that people are able to carry out productive activities. This research uses a quantitative approach with a causal design which aims to explain how the FKTP variable influences changes in mediating variables, namely environmental health and morbidity and its influence on HDI. The research was conducted in the Lampung Province area. The data source used is secondary data from BPS (Central Statistics Agency) Lampung Province and the Lampung Province Health Service for 2018-2022. The data analysis method in this research uses a path analysis model to analyze the pattern of relationships between variables. Based on the research results, there is a significant influence of FKTP on environmental health and environmental-based disease morbidity, and there is a significant influence of FKTP, environmental health and environmental-based disease morbidity on HDI in Lampung Province. Meanwhile, there is no influence of environmental health on environmental-based disease morbidity. Thus, efforts to increase the HDI in Lampung Province as a measure of community welfare can be pursued by carrying out interventions to increase FKTP, environmental health and environmental-based disease control in a representative manner, where FKTP becomes central in health efforts in the region, so that a healthy community will be able to maximum productivity to improve their welfare. Keywords: FKTP, Environmental Health, Morbidity, IPM   ABSTRAK Dalam Program Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (yang disebut bJKN-KIS), fasilitas Kesehatan tingkat pertama (FKTP) berperan sebagai gate keeper dimana FKTP bertanggungjawab sebagai pemberi pelayanan kesehatan dasar serta berfungsi optimal sesuai standar kompetensinya.

Abstract

Wild boar (Sus scrofa) plays a crucial role in tropical forest ecosystems but also poses ecological and socio-economic challenges, including crop damage and susceptibility to African swine fever (ASF). This study assessed temporal changes in the relative abundance of wild boars in the core block of the Batutegi Protected Forest Management Unit (KPHL Batutegi), Lampung Province, Indonesia, using camera trap data collected in 2018, 2022, and 2024. A total of 18 camera traps were installed at fixed monitoring points, and all photographs of wild boars were processed to determine independent events (IE) following a ≥ 30-minute interval rule; these IE data were then used to calculate the Relative Abundance Index (RAI). The results revealed substantial temporal fluctuations: RAI was 3.18 in 2018, declined drastically to 0.55 in 2022, likely due to ASF outbreaks, and increased significantly to 7.29 in 2024, indicating potential recovery or adaptation to post-outbreak conditions. Seasonal patterns showed higher activity during drier months, suggesting that rainfall influences foraging behavior and the detectability of animals. Beyond wild boars, camera traps also recorded diverse non-target wildlife, including several threatened species listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, emphasizing the ecological significance of the Batutegi Protected Forest. These findings highlight the importance of long-term wildlife monitoring using camera traps to detect population fluctuations, evaluate disease impacts, and inform adaptive management strategies. Continuous observation is essential for balancing wildlife conservation and mitigating human–wildlife conflict in tropical protected forests.
