Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of learning, the improvement of students' critical thinking skills, and the student responses after applying the structured inquiry learning model to the sub-material of fluid pressure. This type of research used a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects used were students of the public junior high schools in Surabaya, Indonesia. This study used several instruments in the form of learning implementation observation sheets, test sheets, and questionnaire sheets which were then analyzed by quantitative description. The results showed that the implementation of learning obtained very good criteria with mode 4. Normality tests, paired t-tests, and N-Gain were used to analyze research data. The result of the standard test is significant. The value is 0.122, which means the data is normally distributed. Paired t-test produces a Sig value of 0.000 <0.05, which means a significant difference after being given treatment in a structured inquiry learning model. The improvement of students' critical thinking skills can also be seen from the N-Gain results on each critical thinking skill indicator with a score of 0.81 (high), 0.77 (high), 0.91 (high), 0.76 (high). and 0.84 (high). Students gave positive responses to the application of this learning model with an average score of 93.81%, and the criteria were very high. These results indicate that students' critical thinking skills can improve after the applied structured inquiry learning model.

Abstract

The use of virtual lab-based students worksheet in science learning aims to optimize practicum activities during the pandemic. Virtual-based students worksheet take advantage of the features that are already available and adapted to the material to be practiced, so knowledge is needed to develop virtual lab-based students worksheet s. The activity of compiling virtual lab-based students worksheet was attended by science teacher participants from private schools in Gresik Regency, with the One Group Pretest Posttest design. Activity participants were given a pretest and then compiled a virtual lab-based students worksheet and posttest. The resulting students worksheet is assessed for feasibility using the students worksheet assessment instrument. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed by N-gain showing an increase of 0.64 in the medium category. The assessment of the participant students worksheet shows that the virtual lab-based students worksheet that have been created are in accordance with the instructions, the category is very feasible, so that it can be implemented as an effort to optimize science practicum during the pandemic.

Abstract

Potassium is a nutrient that plays a role in maintaining the function of the muscles and nerves that control the heart and is needed for body stability. The potassium content in the body can be obtained from foods such as bananas. The development of instruments and methods that are developed to obtain a more accurate measurement of potassium concentration requires an instrument that has high linearity and sensitivity. The instrument is in the form of an optical sensor system equipped with the use of optical fibers to guide the waveform to maintain its intensity stability. In this study, an experimental method was conducted with a sample of a standard solution with potassium as the solute and pure water as the solvent. Then continue to measurements on samples of banana milk and green banana fruit extracts. The results of the analysis of the measurement data using an optical sensor with a concave mirror reflection plane obtained a sensitivity of 0.36 mV/ppm and a linearity of 82.56%. In the plane of the flat mirror reflection, obtained an optical sensor with a plane mirror reflection plane shows a sensitivity of 0.12 mV/ppm and a linearity of 97.6%. The highest and most accurate linearity value is found in the plane mirror plane results. The next stage is the result of the maximum output voltage read on the optical detector through an optical sensor with a sample of extracts of milk banana and green banana. The results of data analysis on the linear equation with the highest linearity obtained the potassium content in milk bananas of 391.54 ppm and the green banana extract solution obtained 307.91 ppm, so it can be concluded that the potassium content in milk bananas is higher than green bananas with a linearity of more than 97%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the competence of Earth and space knowledge of prospective science teacher students. Learning is carried out with the perspective of Field-Project Based Learning, students are asked to make direct observations of the components of the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere in their living environment. Competencies from observations made by students include the ability to determine objects, knowledge of objects, and understanding of objects in their environment. The results of observations carried out are reported in the form of a written report supported by personal documentation in the form of photos of objects (lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere), explanations of the selected objects based on reality connected with references that have been obtained. The results of the study indicate that the ability to determine objects, understanding and knowledge of students is excellent so that learning Earth and Space Sciences is in accordance with Field-Project Based Learning

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkan pendekatan pada materi getaran dan gelombang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan rancangan penelitian one group pretest and posttest design. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 1 Modo Lamongan.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes. Hasil belajar pada aspek pengetahuan siswa mengalami peningkatan setelah diterapkannya pendekatan saintifik pada materi getaran dan gelombang yaitu dari rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 46 meningkat pada posttest menjadi 78 dengan ketuntasan pada pada posttest sebesar 79%. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa tersebut dikategorikan sedang dengan indeks gain 0,6.Kata Kunci: hasil belajar, pendekatan saintifik, getaran dan gelombang Abstract CThis study aims to describe student learning outcomes after following scientific approach on vibration and wave. The type of research used in pre-experimental design with research plan One Group Pretest and Posttest design. The subject of this research is the VIII-A students of junior high school 1 Modo Lamongan. The techniques of collecting data is test. The students learning outcomes on knowledge competence improve after the scientific approach applied on vibration and wave material; that is from the average of 46 become 78 with classical completeness on posttest 79%. Abstract

This study aims to determine students' responses to the application of guided inquiry learning models on heat material and its displacement. This research uses qualitative research using literature review method. The research instrument used a student response questionnaire distributed to 30 MTs students. The data collection techniques used were in the form of interview techniques and questionnaire techniques for student responses to the application of the guided inquiry learning model. The data obtained in this study will be analyzed by calculating the percentage results of each student response questionnaire result, so that the positive and negative responses of students are known. The results obtained showed more positive responses than students' negative responses to the application of the guided inquiry model, positive responses were almost obtained in every statement except in statement 8 regarding students having no difficulty when making hypotheses / assumptions while in books and student worksheets obtained a balanced response between positive response and negative response

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of students worksheet based guided inquiry to facilitate students critical thinking skills by knowledge test and student questionnaire responses. The trial design in this study was a pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest. The instruments used were the pre-test and post-test questions of critical thinking skills and student questionnaire responses. The sample of this study was 38 7th grade students in a school in Surabaya. The results of the critical thinking skills test students obtained an N-Gain score from the indicator gave a simple explanation of 0.79 with high criteria; build basic skills of 0.81 with high criteria; and concluded of 0.76 with high criteria. The results of the questionnaire responses from students showed 93.20% of students gave a positive response to the students worksheets with very effective criteria. Based on the research that has been done, then it can be concluded that students worksheet based guided inquiry get to facilitate students critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the achievements of students in improving science process skills after learning the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model on vibration and wave material. The research design used is the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design with one experimental class and one replication class. The sample of this study were students of class VIII F and VIII J in one junior high school in East Java. Student pretest-posttest data were analyzed with the ¬N-Gain Score test and paired t-test. The results showed that the science process skills of students increased. Class VIII F and VIII J obtained ¬N-Gain Score of 0.8 with a high category. Paired t-test results in class VIII F and VIII J obtain a probability value of 0,000 with a decision if the probability value is less than 0.05 then there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest. Based on the results of research conducted, it can be concluded that the application of the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) learning model on vibration and wave material can improve students' science process skills.

Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kelayakan komik getaran dan gelombang untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Kelayakan komik getaran dan gelombang dapat diketahui berdasarkan penilaian oleh tiga validator, yaitu dua dosen pengampu mata kuliah gelombang dan optik serta satu guru IPA MTs kelas VIII. Penelitian ini menggunakan lembar validasi sebagai instrumen untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian.Terdapat lima aspek yang akan dinilai yaitu aspek kelayakan penyajian pada media komik, aspek kelayakan ilustrasi dalam media komik, aspek kelayakan penyajian alur pada media komik, aspek kelayakan materi pada media komik dan aspek kelayakaan penggunaan bahasa pada media komik. Data hasil validasi akan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan mengambil modus dari setiap skor komponen yang sesuai dengan instrumen penilaian media komik. Nilai modus yang telah didapatkan selanjutnya dikonversikan ke dalam kriteria kelayakan media komik. Hasil kelayakan media komik pada aspek penyajian diperoleh modus 4, aspek ilustrasi diperoleh modus 5, aspek alur diperoleh modus 4, aspek materi diperoleh modus 5 serta aspek bahasa diperoleh modus 5. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa komik getaran dan gelombang memperolehan modus sebesar 5 dan termasuk ke dalam kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelayakan komik getaran dan gelombang layak dari aspek validitas untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata Kunci: kelayakan, komik getaran dan gelombang, motivasi, hasil belajar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII pada salah satu SMP di Mojoagung. Tahapan penelitian meliputi tiga tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap analisis. Hasil analisis data penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri untuk meningkatkan KPS siswa, Keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa didapatkan dari hasil analisis menggunakan N-gain score. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas VIII-A dan VIII-B mengalami peningkatan. Nilai N-gain yang didapatkan dari masing-masing kelas VIII-A dan VIII-B yaitu 0,54 dan 0,56, yang mana keduanya termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model inkuiri dalam pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP.Kata Kunci : Penerapan, Inkuiri, Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS)
