Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bekerjasama dengan sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Kediri dengan tujuan peningkatan kompetensi guru-guru IPA di Kabupaten Kediri. Sasaran kegiatan PKM adalah guru-guru IPA SMP di Kabupaten Kediri. Kegiatan PKM ini akan fokus pada pendampingan pengembangan instrumen penilaian berstandar nasional bagi guru IPA di Kabupaten Kediri, dengan memperhatikan tiga aspek: (1) soal yang mengukur keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, (2) soal yang dikonstruksi berdasarkan persyaratan indikator soal, dan (3) soal yang sesuai dengan kisi-kisi BSNP. Luaran dari kegiatan PKM adalah draft soal yang dikembangkan oleh guru dan artikel yang akan dipublikasikan di jurnal ilmiah, dengan tujuan memberikan sumbangsih bagi ranah keilmuan dan menyebarluaskan informasi dari hasil yang telah dicapai selama kegiatan tersebut. Pelaksanaan PKM ini dibagi menjadi tiga tahapan, yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan merupakan kegiatan awal yang bertujuan menganalisis kebutuhan guru IPA, bahan pelatihan, dan perangkat evaluasi. Tahap kedua, kegiatan PKM difokuskan untuk mendampingi peserta menyusun instrumen penilaian sesuai dengan tiga aspek yang telah disebutkan sebelumnya. Tahap terakhir ialah tahap evaluasi. Tahap ini dibagi dua, meliputi evaluasi tugas atau kemampuan peserta melalui tugas yang telah dikerjakan dan evaluasi kegiatan PKM melalui umpan-balik peserta pelatihan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa Guru-guru IPA SMP Kabupaten Kediri telah mampu menyusun soal dengan komposisi 41,7 % dalam kategori soal HOTS dan 58,3% dalam kategori soal non-HOTS. Tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini adalah melakukan evaluasi soal pilihan ganda yang telah dibuat oleh peserta melalui validasi ahli.Kata kunci: Instrumen penilaian, HOTS

Abstract

The study aimed to describe improving students' critical thinking skills by applying a structured inquiry model to the substance pressure topic. The research design is one group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at the eighth-grade junior high schools in Surabaya in the 2021/2022 academic year, which totaled 22 respondents. Data collection techniques in questionnaire and test. The questionnaire analysis used the Guttman scale, which was calculated using the percentage formula. While the data analysis techniques pretest-posttest using N-Gain score, normality test, and paired t-test. An implementation of the structured inquiry model improves students' critical thinking skills. It is shown that the t-test where the significance value of (0.000 <0.05) indicates differences in students' critical thinking skills before and after the structured inquiry model is applied. The average value of Gain evidence the difference-the results were (0.81) in the high category, and 91% of the 22 students experienced increased critical thinking skills in the high category. The implementation of learning using the inquiry model gets a mode value of 4, so it can be categorized as very good. The students gave a response reaching 93.96% in the very good category. In conclusion, a structured inquiry model can improve students' critical thinking skills on substance-pressure topics.

Abstract

Ide No Child is Left Behind (NCLB) yang dilanjutkan dengan program Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) telah menjadi agenda global yang harus dicapai tahun 2030. Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi adalah konsep yang telah lama dikenal sejak NCLB (2002-2015), kemudian dikuatkan kembali dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Tujuan kegiatan pendampingan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman para guru IPA SMP/Sederajat dalam mengembangkan modul ajar berdiferensiasi. Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi erat kaitannya dengan agenda pendidikan global, yakni menekankan pada literasi sains yang berasosiasi dengan isu-isu sosiosaintifik. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah 38 guru yang tergabung dalam satu Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) IPA di salah satu Kabupaten yang ada di Jawa Timur. Kegiatan pendampingan menggunakan one-group pre-and post-test workshop design dengan sesi paparan materi dan sesi praktik dengan metode peer instruction. Kegiatan pendampingan ini disimpulkan efektif karena mampu meningkatkan gain peserta pada kategori sangat memuaskan. Selain itu, para guru juga mengalami pemahaman, kemampuan beradaptasi, dan fleksibilitas dalam mengembangkan modul ajar berdiferensiasi. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini adalah para guru IPA harus memunculkan kesadaran kolektif untuk terus belajar secara mandiri, sesuai prinsip ESD.

Abstract

Science process skills are competencies that students can build their own concepts learned. The purpose of this study was to analyze the use of guided inquiry learning models to improve science process skills for science subjects in junior high school students. This research uses qualitative research, descriptive method. The research sample was 30 junior high school students and data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. The results showed that the use of guided inquiry learning in science learning was able to improve students' science process skills. This can be seen in the guided inquiry learning model which is a student-centered learning process. With this, students independently seek solutions to a problem with the supervision of the teacher. The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that there was an increase in the percentage of indicators of students' science process skills. The average increase experienced is from 49.33% to 76.66%. The improvement of science process skills in students can be formed and developed with habits that are carried out continuously in the learning process, in order to improve scientific understanding.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the critical thinking skills of junior high school students on vibration and wave materials. The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative. The subjects in this study were 32 students in the eighth grade of junior high school SMP Negeri 2 Purwosari, Indonesia. The sample consisted of 16 male and 16 female students under the purposive sampling technique. The data collection method used an essay question instrument to test critical thinking skills. The essay question instrument consisted of five indicators of critical thinking skills: giving simple explanations, building basic skills, concluding, making further explanations, and setting strategies and tactics. This research concludes that the average percentage of students' critical thinking skills indicators is 59.94%. The percentage results indicate that the critical thinking skills of students of SMP Negeri 2 Purwosari on vibration and wave materials are classified as less, following the benchmark reference assessment criteria. Based on gender, the results of critical thinking skills between female and male students are relatively the same.

Abstract

Changes in the national education curriculum and learning approaches in the Merdeka Curriculum become problems for teachers. In contrast, the key to successful curriculum implementation depends on the understanding and ability of teachers to translate and develop the curriculum itself. This study purposed to reveal science teachers’ knowledge and understanding on differentiated learning and the Merdeka Curriculum. This study involved sixty-five participants with a professional background as science teachers at the Lower Secondary School level. Small-scale surveys were conducted using complex multiple-choice item questions. This study reveals the average science teacher’s understanding of differentiated learning and the changes in science subjects in terms of content and process according to the Merdeka Curriculum only 37.85%. Furthermore, the findings show that current training had minimal impact on the science teachers’ preexisting knowledge. Therefore, according to the Merdeka Curriculum, the training pattern’s vital role must be concerned with developing teacher knowledge and understanding of changes in science subjects for the Lower Secondary School and the learning process. However, despite some limitations, we also think that the spaces for teachers’ curriculum agency patterns can be used to improve the science teachers’ knowledge and understanding on differentiated learning and the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills using a guided inquiry learning model implemented in one of the public Junior High Schools in Gresik. This study was a pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study involved 32 students in VII grade. Data collection techniques through a test and observation by applied in the form of written tests and student collaboration skills observation sheets as the instruments. The findings revealed that there was an improvement in the student’s critical thinking skills as evidenced by the average value of the N-Gain score in the high category. The result of the Wilcoxon test showed that student critical thinking skills were significantly better. Students’ collaboration skills were increased at each meeting, from a less collaborative to a very collaborative category. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning models implementation improved students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills.

Abstract

The inquiry learning model is a model that facilitates the construction of students' scientific knowledge which can also improve students' argumentation skills. According to several research results, inquiry-based learning has proven to be effective in improving scientific argumentation skills because in the learning process students are directed in investigative activities to find scientific evidence as a basis for scientific argumentation. By considering the student learning process, the aim of this research is to describe whether the use of three types of inquiry learning models can teach fluid material and influence the student learning process, one of which is students' argumentation abilities. This research method uses mixed method triangulation. The instruments used were interview questionnaires and argumentation tests. The data obtained was then analyzed using simple statistical tests and N-gain scores. Interview data was analyzed to find out clarification of students' answers. The research results of the inquiry learning model were successful in developing argumentation skills, namely the n-gain score resulted in the use of the structured inquiry learning model gaining 0.88, the guided inquiry learning model 0.84 and the open inquiry learning model 0.74.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of junior high school students critical thinking skills in sound material using models Team Based Learning. The type of research used is quantitative research with the method pre-experimental with a plan one group pretest-posttest. The subject of this research involved 30 students. The data collection technique used was the written test method in the form of six essay questions. The data analysis technique used is test n-gain score and the data obtained were analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results showed that students critical thinking skills in sound material used Team Based Learning experienced an increase in the overall average indicators n-gain score 0.6 with moderate improvement criteria. In order to better improve the model can be done Team Based Learning repeatedly so that students critical thinking skills increase.
