Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to model and analyze the performance of a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) of H-Rotor type as an alternative renewable energy source for street lighting in Pandeglang Regency. The study employed both mathematical analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation using ANSYS CFX. Variations of design parameters included blade chord length, blade number, and pitch angle with NACA 0015 as the blade profile. The average wind speed of 4.25 m/s from Carita, Pandeglang, was used as input. The results showed that the optimal configuration (chord 6 m, 4 blades, pitch angle 15°) produced a theoretical torque of 352.8 Nm and power of 486 W, while CFD simulation yielded torque of 306.1 Nm and power of 422–454 W. The error margin of ±15% indicates the validity of the simulation model. With three turbines connected in parallel, an effective capacity of 1200 W can be achieved to support street lighting. This study concludes that the H-Rotor VAWT is feasible as a renewable energy solution for low wind speed regions. Keywords: VAWT, H-Rotor, torque, CFD, renewable energy, Pandeglang. Abstract

Technology itself is a human creation that was created with the aim of making it easier and helping humans in this case solve a fundamental problem in society. However, the development of technology is also not free from negative impacts. The birth of law to control air pollution resulting from the use of coal was clearly visible when the British government took steps to create "The Smoke Abatement Act". ecosystem. In international law itself, rules regarding the use of technology have been implemented, where this law was born out of human awareness of the magnitude of the impact of changes in the environment due to technology.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of cryptocurrency assets has intensified the risks related to money laundering. In Indonesia, the regulatory framework governing crypto assets remains fragmented, largely depending on anti-money laundering laws and sector-specific regulations that are not designed for decentralized, cross-border digital assets. This lack of regulatory cohesion is apparent through the overlapping jurisdictions of the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Bank Indonesia, resulting in inconsistencies in licensing, oversight, and enforcement practices. The purpose of this study is to analyse normative weaknesses within Indonesia’s crypto asset regulatory framework and to examine comparative regulatory models. The method used is normative legal research employing statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches based on secondary legal materials. The results show that the absence of a lex specialis for crypto assets undermines regulatory coherence, weakens institutional coordination, and reduces the effectiveness of preventive and repressive measures at the placement, layering, and integration stages. Comparative analysis demonstrates that the European Union, through the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation MiCA, applies a prescriptive harmonised framework with centralised supervision. At the same time, Switzerland adopts a functional integrative approach within existing legal regimes. The conclusion is that Indonesia should pursue selective regulatory adaptation combining normative certainty, institutional strengthening, and a supportive legal culture to ensure effective crypto asset regulation.

Abstract

The government is trying to reform national law in the field of criminal law by drafting a Criminal Code Bill (RUU KUHP) to replace Wetboek van Strafrecht. The culmination of this preparation was the promulgation of the Criminal Code Bill on January 2, 2023, through Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP). However, there are not many articles that discuss the process and critical analysis of living law formulation as stated in the provisions of Article 2 of the Criminal Code and their explanations. The research method used was legal research with statute, historical, comparative legal, and conceptual approaches. The results of this research conclude that the living laws are formulated inconsistently in terms of scientific substance. In order to make this formulation can realize justice based on Pancasila, it can be achieved in several ways. First, there is a need to reinterpret living legal concepts by involving experts in customary law, legal anthropology, legal sociology, and interdisciplinary legal researchers. Second, redefining the meaning of law that lives within the body of the Criminal Code is not limited to customary law, especially the principle of legality, but also includes customary law and traditional laws in traditional societies. Third, formulating formal law/criminal procedural law as the enforcer of material criminal law/National Criminal Code by re-establishing and recognizing customary courts in the Indonesian criminal justice system whose application in society is to realize the fifth principle of social justice for all Indonesian people from Pancasila.

Abstract

Background. INTERPOL Red Notices are designed to facilitate international police cooperation by assisting member countries in locating and provisionally arresting wanted persons pending extradition or similar legal proceedings. However, in practice, Red Notices may produce coercive effects despite their non-binding character, particularly when used by authoritarian regimes to pursue political opponents, journalists, human rights defenders, refugees, and exiled critics across jurisdictions. Purpose. This study aims to analyze the normative failure of existing protection mechanisms, particularly Article 3 of the INTERPOL Constitution and the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF), in preventing the misuse of Red Notices as surrogate tools of political persecution, and to formulate a reconstructed normative oversight framework. Method. This research employs doctrinal legal research with a prescriptive-analytical specification, using statutory, conceptual, case-based, comparative, and historical approaches. The legal materials consist of INTERPOL legal instruments, CCF-related documents, international human rights norms, selected cases, scholarly literature, and comparative legal materials. Results. The study finds that the normative failure arises from the abstract formulation of Article 3, formalistic assessment of ordinary criminal charges, reactive nature of CCF remedies, limited procedural transparency, reliance on information supplied by requesting states, and fragmented domestic implementation of Red Notices. Conclusion. The oversight of INTERPOL Red Notices should be reconstructed through a preventive, contextual, and rights-based framework, including a contextual political-motivation test, heightened scrutiny for vulnerable political targets, rebuttable presumptions in refugee or asylum-related cases, burden-shifting to requesting states, stronger interim measures, and greater procedural transparency.
