Abstract

Argumentation is one of the factors considered in measuring critical thinking skills. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Argumentationbased Problem-Based Learning model in enhancing the critical thinking skills of prospective mathematics teachers. This study used a post-test only control design involving 53 prospective mathematics teacher students at UPGRIS, consisting of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class with a purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out through a critical thinking ability test. The data analysis technique used was a prerequisite test analyzing with a paired sample t-test hypothesis test, independent sample t-test and N-gain. The results showed that the experimental class experienced an increase in critical thinking skills in the group theory course. The critical thinking skills of the experimental class with the Problem Based Learning and Argumentation model learning were better than the control class with a sig <0.05. The increase in students' critical thinking skills increased significantly with a moderate category (N-gain = 0.47). The indicator of critical thinking skills in the criteria stating that there are problems in the information provided experienced the greatest increase, while the indicator of constructing valid arguments experienced the lowest increase. There was an increase in the ability of prospective teachers in constructing arguments but in the low criteria. The ability to construct arguments needs to be given special attention in efforts to improve critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika di sekolah masih sering didominasi oleh metode konvensional yang menyebabkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar kurang optimal dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa belum berkembang secara maksimal. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah melalui pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif yang mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif digital berbasis deep learning yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA pada materi persamaan dan fungsi kuadrat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa e-modul interaktif menggunakan Flip PDF Professional yang dilengkapi dengan aktivitas interaktif berbasis GeoGebra dan Wordwall. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas X SMA yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid berdasarkan validasi ahli dengan persentase sebesar 96,36% dari ahli media dan 90% dari ahli materi, praktis berdasarkan respon siswa dengan persentase sebesar 84,18%, serta efektif berdasarkan hasil uji coba hipotesis yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,0000,05, nilai N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,6823 lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol sebesar 0,5353, serta ketuntasan belajar klasikal pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 81,25%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa e-modul interaktif berbasis deep learning dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang mendukung peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

The specific purpose of this research is: The implementation of the application of the learning tool with a form cognitive learning evaluation model based macros program via E-learning at High School grade X at july-december based on 2013 curriculum. The method used in this research followed the procedures is research and development by Borg and Gall [2]. In second year, population analysis has conducted at several universities in Semarang. The results of the research and application development of macro program-based cognitive evaluation model is effective which can be seen from (1) the student learning result is over KKM, (2) The student independency affects learning result positively, (3) the student learning a result by using macros program-based cognitive evaluation model is better than students class control. Based on the results above, the development of macros program-based cognitive evaluation model that have been tested have met quality standards according to Akker (1999). Large-scale testing includes operational phase of field testing and final product revision, i.e trials in the wider class that includes students in mathematics education major in several universities, they are the Universitas PGRI Semarang, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung and the Universitas Islam NegeriWalisongo Semarang. The positive responses is given by students at the Universitas PGRI Semarang, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung and the Universitas Islam NegeriWalisongo Semarang.
