Abstract

Water is an essential thing for every living creature. However, it can cause several problems, namely floods, droughts, and water pollution. The Cikeruh sub-watershed area is frequently flooded, especially in the Rancaekek and Bojongsoang sub-districts, causing damage to public facilities and infrastructure and property losses. Therefore, a flood discharge analysis is carried out to determine the magnitude of the planned flood discharge in the Cikeruh sub-watershed. This study aims to obtain the deviation of the planned flood discharge value using the Mean Annual Flood method, the Rational method, the Der Weduwen method and the Haspers method with the planned flood discharge with measured data. This study uses a literature study and analyzes the frequency of the maximum precipitation to obtain the planned flood discharge in the Cikeruh sub-watershed. The results of the calculation of precipitation data using the Mean Annual Flood, Rational, Der Weduwen and Haspers methods on the frequency analysis of the measured discharge data is the smallest deviation occurs against the Mean Annual Flood method, which is 20.98% for the 2-year return period, 17.47% for the 5-year return period, 27.22% for 10-year return period, 42.68% for 20-year return period, 62.68% for 50 year return period, and 83.87% for 100 year return period. The results of this study are useful to know the methods that can be used as a reference in calculating the flood discharge plan and taken into consideration in planning the construction of waterworks.

Abstract

The hydroton planting media that is marketed has the characteristics of low water holding capacity. The addition of organic material in the form of husk charcoal, cocopeat, and compost clay can increase the water holding capacity of the hydroton so that plant productivity increases. This study aims to determine the composition of the best planting media for pakcoy plant growth in hydroponic floating raft systems. The research was carried out at the Rooftop of the Food Building of the Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology, Padjadjaran University. The experiment was arranged using a completely randomized design that was repeated four times and seven combinations of treatments. The composition of organic matter is added as much as 2.5% and 5% of each organic material. The variables observed were plant height, the number of leaves, root length, leaf area, wet weight, and stover weight. All data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by DMRT test at the level of 5%. The results showed that the organic matter in hydroton had a role in the parameters of growth and productivity of pakcoy plants compared to hydroton materials without comparing organic matter and the weight of root wet. The treatment of adding organic matter in the form of (husk charcoal, 5%) and (Cocopeat, 5%) is a treatment that affects the root length and weight of root wet.

Abstract

Maluku province is one of the Islands in Indonesia. Seram island is one of the largest islands in the Maluku province lies the Central Maluku Regency. Central Maluku district is one of the priorities regions in the development of paddy fields in the province of Maluku. According to the BPS Maluku province in the year 2015, Government Maluku province was only able to meet the needs of 58% of the rice. Fulfillment needs rice is one of the Government's efforts in food self-sufficiency, it is because of the availability of food is one of the primary needs. Increased agricultural productivity through the extension of new rice fields became one alternative settlement in fulfillment of rice. The increase in rice production through the expansion of rice fields is still possible, because of the potential land is suitable for the expansion of rice fields was still quite spacious. The success of the process of the expansion of paddy fields depend on the expansion of the activities of the mechanism of the rice is done. The process of the expansion of rice fields is preceded by feasibility investigation location. Feasibility study of the site was conducted to find out the feasibility of potential land with the observations in the field which is then processed and spatial dianalis in using ArcGIS software. Results of a survey investigating the Central Maluku district region with a total area of 594.29 achieved ha based on the suitability of the land for the potential expansion of new acres of rice paddies 587.35 ha from 2 (two) subdistricts include North Eastern Seram Subdistrict Kobi m2 170.87 ha and North Seram Subdistrict covering 416.82 ha. Abstract

Sungai merupakan salah satu sumberdaya air yang sangat dibutuhkan bagi makhluk hidup. Fungsi sungai yaitu sumber air minum, sarana transportasi, irigasi, perikanan, dan sebagainya. Sungai dekat kawasan industri batu alam di Kecamatan Palimanan, Cirebon yaitu Sungai Jamblang, berfungsi sebagai sumber air irigasi Desa Panongan. Sungai Jamblang berpotensi tercemar limbah cair batu alam yang berdampak pada kualitas air irigasi Desa Panongan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembuangan limbah cair batu alam di sekitar Sungai Jamblang dan dampak limbah cair batu alam terhadap kualitas air irigasi Desa Panongan. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dan metode Storet. Parameter uji dalam penelitian ini meliputi pH, DHL, TDS, NO3, Cl, B, PO4, dan K dari setiap titik lokasi pengambilan sampel air. Hasil pengujian dilakukan di PT. Sucofindo kemudian dihitung menggunakan metode Storet. Status mutu air Sungai Jamblang di titik 1 yaitu cemar sedang dan air Sungai Jamblang di titik 2 yaitu cemar berat. Status mutu air irigasi Desa Panongan yaitu cemar sedang. Status mutu air yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa adanya limbah cair batu alam berdampak pada kualitas air irigasi, namun tidak semua parameter kualitas air irigasi yang melebihi baku mutu air buruk bagi tanaman pertanian di Desa Panongan.

Abstract

The results of population growth, regional development, and the rising infrastructure development are indirectly or directly linked to the cause of a decline in environmental carrying capacity, especially the unavoidable water resource carrying capacity. This research aims to analyze the current condition of water resource carrying capacity based on the Thornthwaite-Mather meteorological water balance model. The research is done in Cikeruh Sub-Watershed, Citarum Upstream Watershed with a total area of 19.143,21 ha, The research methods used are descriptive research with a quantitative approach, by analyzing the current condition of water resource carrying capacity that refers to the water resource capacity and the and the water resources needed for the domestic, non-domestic, agricultural, industrial, livestock and fishery sectors. The results of the research have shown an overshoot of water resource carrying capacity in 2020 within the research area. Those condition has shown that the water balance is in a deficit condition given that the water availability index has reached up to 193.583.337,01 m3/year and the water demand for those 6 sectors has reached up to 462.306.728,53 m3/year. Based on the result, in terms of quantity, the water availability index in the research area is still inadequate to fulfill the demand of those six sectors. Based on the analysis, the availability of water resources in Cikeruh Sub-Watershed is only adequate to fulfill the demands of water for domestic, non-domestic, livestock, fishery sectors, and agricultural sectors but are still inadequate for industrial.

Abstract

Land cover information is the data neede in the management of watersheds. Identification to obtain land cover using a cloud-based spatial data processing platform Google Earth Engine (GEE). This study aims to identify changes in land area in the Cikeruh sub-watershed area by classifying them using a machine learning basis on GEE. Utilization of landsat imagery is applied in the operation of the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform using landsat 8 imagery. The analysis method used is the interpretation of Support Vector Machine (SVM) imagery with the identified years since 2015 until 2020. This research still has deficiencies, especially in the validation of land cover classes and area mapped and analyzed.

Abstract

Abstrak. Limbah pertanian jagung yang belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik dapat menyebabkan timbunan limbah yang mempersempit area penanaman selanjutnya. Salah satu pemanfaatan limbah tanaman jagung adalah dengan cara dikomposkan. Pengomposan dilakukan dengan penambahan tanaman kipahit dan pupuk kandang kambing untuk mengoptimalkan proses pengomposan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui karakteristik proses pengomposan menggunakan metode berkeley. Pengamatan dilakukan pada pengondisian bahan awal kompos dengan rasio C/N 30, 35 dan 40. Penelitian mendapatkan semakin rendah penyesuaian rasio C/N awal pengomposan maka suhu puncak proses pengomposan semakin tinggi. Proses pengomposan membentuk fase termofilik dengan titik tertinggi 63,3oC pada bioreaktor A. Proses pengomposan pada bioreaktor B  mengalami fase termofilik paling lama yaitu 18 hari dan reduksi volume terbanyak yaitu 78,9%. Akhir pengomposan pada bioreaktor A, B dan C menghasilkan pH yang alkali dan rasio C/N  berturut-turut 13,5, 10 dan 15,5. Parameter di atas telah sesuai dengan standar baku mutu kriteria pupuk organik padat SNI 7763:2018.Characteristics Study Of Corn Waste Composting Process With Tithonia And Sheep Manure Addition Abstract. Corn waste that was not used properly into waste stack which will reduce the area of the upcoming planting. Composting is one of the ways for corn waste management. Corn waste composting is carried out by adding tithonia and goat manure to optimize the process. The objective of the study is to determine the characteristics of composting process by using the Berkeley method. The observations were undertaken at various initial composting material C/N ratio 30, 35 and 40. Base on the study result, the lower C/N ratio, the higher thermophilic peak.. The composting process forms the highest peak temperature thermophilic  at 63.3oC in bioreactor A. The composting process in bioreactor B has longest thermophilic phase (18 days) and the biggest reduction (78.9%). The last characteristics were observed are composting process in bioreactor A, B and C results in alkaline pH and  C/N ratio 13.5, 10, and 15.5, respectively. The parameters above have qualified SNI 7763:2018.

Abstract

Embung Leuwi Padjadjaran II merupakan bangunan penampung air yang berlokasi di Desa Cileles, Jatinangor. Pembangunan embung ini bertujuan untuk menghindari terjadinya banjir saat musim hujan tiba. Namun, keadaan embung mempunyai kenampakan fisik yang buruk. Bagian atas badan air embung dipenuhi dengan tumpukkan tanah. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan adanya erosi yang terjadi di daerah tangkapan air embung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memetakan sebaran lokasi erosi dan konservasi tanah dan air di Daerah Tangkapan Air Embung Leuwi Padjadjaran II. Erosi yang terjadi pada setiap satuan unit lahan mempunyai tingkat bahaya erosi yang berbeda-beda yang dihitung menggunakan persamaan USLE berdasarkan faktor-faktor erosi. Faktor-faktor erosi tersebut antara lain: faktor erosivitas hujan (R), faktor erodibilitas tanah (K), faktor panjang kemiringan lahan (LS), faktor  pengelolaan tanaman (C) dan faktor pengelolaan konservasi (P). Tingkat bahaya erosi paling dominan di daerah tangkapan air embung adalah tingkat bahaya erosi sangat tinggi (>480 ton/ha/th). Sedangkan, tingkat bahaya terendah dimiliki oleh tingkat bahaya erosi rendah (15-60 ton/ha/th). Konservasi tanah dan air menjadi solusi yang direkomendasikan dalam menanggulangi masalah erosi yang terjadi daerah tangkapan air embung. Penerapan koservasi tanah dan air ditentukan berdasarkan Pedoman Pemilihan Teknologi Konservasi Tanah secara Mekanis dan Vegetatif berdasarkan Tingkat Kemiringan Lahan, Erodibilitas Tanah dan Kedalaman Solum (P3HTA).

Abstract

The right planting medium will help produce good growth and yields. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of planting media using a drip irrigation system on the growth and yield of melon plants. The research method used was experimental using Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Treatment in this study consisted of P1 (chaff charcoal and cocopeat), P2 (cocopeat and zeolite), and P3 (husk charcoal and zeolite) with a composition of 50%:50%. Results showed that there was an effect of using cocopeat, husk charcoal, and zeolite planting media on the number of leaves, stem diameter, fruit weight, fruit water content, level of fruit sweetness, and plant height. Cocopeat and zeolite (50%:50%) growing media gave the best growth and yield, tem diameter with a final thickness of 11mm, the final number of leaves was 42 leaves, average fruit weight was 1.3kg, the highest fruit moisture content was 92% and level of sweetness highest 15 brix.

Abstract

AbstractXylitol is a low-calorie, natural sweetener which has similar sweetness properties to sucrose. Xylitol can be produced from the hemicellulose hydrolysate of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches (OPEFB). Several steps required for this process, including pretreatment, the hydrolysis of xylan to xylose and the reduction of xylose to xylitol. In a commercial market, xylitol is commonly found in the form of powder in order to maintain its distribution stability and practicality. The spray drying method is a drying method that is mostly used in dry or powder products manufacturing industry. This research aims to investigate the effect of spray drying and to determine proper inlet temperature and maltodextrin concentration on xylitol powder characteristics that are similar to the quality of commercially produced xylitol. Randomized Group Design Method is a data processing method used in this research which consisted of two factors: inlet temperature (160 oC and 180 oC) and maltodextrin concentrations (20%, 25%, and 30%). Based on the result of the research, the inlet temperature significantly affected the water content, solubility, hygroscopic levels and calorie content. Results also showed that maltodextrin concentration had a significant effect on the hygroscopic levels, water content and calorie content. Xylitol powder similar to the commercially produced xylitol was obtained from the inlet temperature of 160 oC and 20% of maltodextrin, with the water content of 5.17%, hygroscopic levels of 8.55%, solubility of 99.346%, calorie content of 2.71 cal/g and xylitol content of 0.034 g/L.Keywords: inlet temperature, maltodextrin, oil palm empty fruit bunch, spray drying, xylitol
