Abstract

This research aims to explain the influence of using Natuna games in understanding natural wealth on the national consciousness of the post-millennial generation (Gen-Z). The method used is Design-based Research, through the stages of analysis, design, development, and evaluation. The results of the research are in the form of Game Natuna. Several validation tests were carried out on the product, namely in terms of material, media, and readability for representatives of the Gen-Z with a validation percentage in terms of material, media, and readability respectively of 95.22, 90.25, and 92.60%. Apart from that, a media implementation was also carried out on 80 Gen-Z people, where the results showed there was a significant difference in national awareness of Gen-Z who used Natuna games compared to Gen-Z who did not use Natuna games. Where students who use the Natuna game have an average national awareness score of 84.10, while those who don't use the Natuna game have an average score of 81.60. It can be concluded that the game Natuna Media developed is very suitable for use and is expected to increase awareness across generations in maintaining national resilience. It is recommended for further research to develop the Natuna game more widely and increase the sense of national awareness.

Abstract

A nation with strong character can become a nation with dignity and respect by other nations in the world. There is a discipline which is a very important character to be applied in the previous educational environment and in tertiary institutions besides the responsibility discipline character education which is very important to be applied in the everyday environment. Seeing the current condition of students, students have experienced a decline in terms of applying the character of discipline and character of responsibility in carrying out lecture assignments. This study aims to analyze the character of discipline and responsibility through character education, describing the views of lecturers in shaping the character of discipline and responsibility in tertiary institutions. The research method used is qualitative research where the data collection technique is to review literature books, journal entries that have something to do with the problem being discussed. The results of the study can be concluded that in the implementation of discipline and responsibility character education for students there are internal and external factors that affect the decline in discipline and loss of student responsibility. One way to remove these obstacles is through habituation which can change the character of student discipline and responsibility. Character education in tertiary institutions is needed to form and develop students to become individuals with character and strengthen the character acquired by students at the previous level.

Abstract

This article aims to dig deeper into the concept of Indonesian philanthropy in dealing with the pandemic seen from the social base of the Indonesian people. This study uses a qualitative approach with the grounded theory method. This research results show a collective awareness of Durkheim's understanding that characterizes mechanical solidarity; in the case of philanthropy in Indonesia, it is at the intersection of mechanical and organic solidarity. The strengthening of generosity can be explained from the theory of social facts that there are non-material social facts that shape the spirit of the Indonesian people's philanthropic movement, namely generosity and collective awareness that characterize mechanical solidarity in rural areas that occurs in modern society with organic solidarity.

Abstract

Happiness is an important aspect of a country's life, even in the study of public policy making happiness the main goal. Happiness comes from internal factors that come from personal motivation and motivation for something, while external factors come from various conditions outside of oneself, the focus in this research is external factors (such as government public policy). The problem of making public policy only limited to political decisions results in neglecting the happiness of citizens. This research aims to examine social aspects based on various previous studies that have contributed to citizen happiness. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature studies, materials derived from journals and books are the main sources used as units of analysis. The results show that social aspects, such as population, welfare, religion, social capital, and social engagement have an impact on happiness. Creating public space in developing various social aspects is an important thing that needs to be done so that citizens have broad access to develop themselves and feel happiness in the public space created by the state.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between social media use and civic engagement among digital natives in Indonesia using the Grounded Theory method. The study involved 15 digital natives aged 18-24 who actively use social media, selected through a purposive sampling technique. The analysis in this study used NVivo version 12 Plus for MacBook. The study results show that social media use plays a vital role in the civic engagement of digital natives in Indonesia. The participants stated that social media use could help increase their awareness and knowledge about social and political issues in Indonesia and enable them to participate in related activities. In addition, the study also shows that social media use can facilitate interaction and discussion among individuals with different views, which ultimately can deepen their understanding and experience of social and political issues in Indonesia. However, this study also identifies some challenges and obstacles in using social media for civic engagement. One is the authenticity and credibility of information disseminated on social media, which can influence individuals' views and opinions on an issue. Based on these findings, this study recommends improving digital literacy and information verification skills for digital natives in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to compare the results of two learning approaches, namely the anti-radicalism value project model and the conventional model, in enhancing the commitment of young citizens. Through data analysis from two groups of classes, the experimental and control groups, we evaluated the outcomes of both learning models on the improvement of young citizens' commitment, including their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards the values and principles of Indonesia's constitutional democracy. By using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, it is hoped that research findings can be reliable. The study shows that the anti-radicalism value project model has significant advantages in increasing the commitment of young citizens compared to the conventional model. Students participating in the project model demonstrated active engagement in the learning process, meaningful learning experiences, and better development of critical thinking skills. On the other hand, the conventional model tends to be limited in providing opportunities for interaction and the active participation of students in the learning process. Students involved in the conventional model are more inclined to be passive recipients of information and less engaged in the learning process. Furthermore, the conventional model also falls short in encouraging students to think critically and relate the subject matter to a real-life context.

Abstract

Kebijakan kampus merdeka merupakan kebijakan aktual pada bidang pendidikan tinggi, karena menghendaki terjadinya modernisasi dan demokratisasi pendidikan tinggi, sehingga adaptif terhadap realitas kemajuan zaman, juga pada aspek pembelajarannya berdampak nyata bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tantangan kebijakan kampus merdeka dalam memenuhi hak-hak mahasiswa, serta memberikan rasionalisasi pentingnya orientasi pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan pada kampus merdeka yang mengarah pada penguatan kompetensi kewarganegaraan mahasiswa, agar menjadi warga negara yang beradab, penelitian ini dilakukan melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur, proses analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi: reduksi data, display data, verifikasi dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah 1) tantangan yang dihadapi oleh kebijakan kampus merdeka, dalam memenuhi hak-hak mahasiswa, umumnya karena belum meratanya kualitas pendidikan, realitas daya saing bangsa dan inovasi nasional, serta kualitas pelayanan dan perlidungan hukum bagi mahasiswa, 2) penguatan kompetensi kewarganegaraan mahasiswa, perlu menjadi orientasi umum dari Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan pada kebijakan kampus merdeka, karena komprehensif, guna mewujudkan mahasiswa yang beradab dan mampu diandalkan oleh negara. Upaya mengatasi tantangan yang berpotensi menghambat berjalan optimalnya kebijakan kampus merdeka, bisa melalui komitmen dan konsistensi berbagai pihak terlebih pemerintah dan pimpinan perguruan tinggi untuk memajukan pendidikan bangsa dan menjamin perlindungan hukum yang adil dan bantuan pendidikan yang tidak diskriminatif. Challenges of Fulfilling Student Rights and Strengthening Citizenship Competence through the Independent Campus Policy. The independent campus policy is an actual policy in the field of higher education, because it requires the modernization and democratization of higher education, so that it is adaptive to the realities of the progress of the times, as well as the aspects of learning which have a real impact on students. This study aims to analyze the challenges of independent campus policies in fulfilling student rights, as well as provide rationalization of the importance of Citizenship Education learning orientation on independent campuses which leads to strengthening student citizenship competencies, in order to become civilized citizens. This research was conducted through a qualitative approach with methods literature study, the data analysis process in this study includes: data reduction, data display, verification and conclusion. The results obtained are 1) the challenges faced by the independent campus policy, in fulfilling the rights of students, generally due to the unequal quality of education, the reality of national competitiveness and national innovation, as well as the quality of services and legal protection for students, 2) strengthening competence Student citizenship needs to become a general orientation of Citizenship Education on an independent campus policy, because it is comprehensive, in order to create civilized students and can be relied on by the state. Efforts to overcome challenges that have the potential to hinder the optimal running of the independent campus policy, can be through the commitment and consistency of various parties, especially the government and university leaders, to advance national education and guarantee fair legal protection and non-discriminatory educational assistance

Abstract

The development of information technology, especially social media, has paved the way for the theory and concept of global citizenship. Integration and connection allow everyone to convey citizens' opinions, ideas, criticism, and actions. Based on the literature and previous studies, social media is analyzed in terms of benefits and disadvantages. This study aims to emphasize the use of social media among students, especially as a means of becoming global citizens. This research was conducted using qualitative methods by analyzing various literature and sources, which were then described. The study results a show that student activity in social media contributes to a new media ecology called global citizen solidarity in social media. Student solidarity in viewing various problems that occur led to civic action. Student actions on social media in various fields and issues on global issues such as politics, religion, economy, environment, health, philanthropy, and human rights reinforce the concept of being global citizens. The transformation regarding the use of social media by students into a theoretical framework for global citizen practice. It is important to re-describe the concept of global citizenship or cosmopolitanism through social media to create world citizen solidarity as a sense of responsibility in dealing with global problems and promoting world peace.

Abstract

The rivalry and fanaticism of football fans in Indonesia often leads to clashes, both among supporters and with the police and even football players. The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the causes of football fan riots and their resolution from a political communication perspective. The method used is a literature review. The results of the discussion state that integrating conflict resolution education in a political communication perspective provides a holistic approach to overcoming conflict among football supporters. This can be done in several ways, including leadership, the role of the media, community involvement, advocacy campaigns and training programs.

Abstract

Fenomena kemunculan populisme menuai berbagai pro kontra dari berbagai ahli. Sebagian ahli, menganggap bahwa populisme merupakan bagian dari dinamika demokrasi, namun ada juga sebagian tokoh yang menganggap berbahaya. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini ialah ingin memberikan sebuah deskripsi argumentatif mengenai berbagai fenomena populisme yang terjadi di berbagai negara mulai dari Eropa Barat, Syriza, Amerika Serika, Amerika Latin, Argentina, Venezuela dan Indonesia. Maka dengan melihat kajian empiris dari perkembangan kemunculan populisme di setiap negara tersebut kita dapat melihat titik diferensiasi dan problematika yang muncul terhadap keberadaan populisme. Sehingga kita tidak memberikan sebuah penilaian kosong tanpa adanya sebuah dalil, fakta, data dan kajian yang lebih komperhensif dalam menilai fenomena populisme. Penulisan artikel ini menggunakan metode kajian systematis review dari 3 data base Google Scholar, SAGE Journal dan Taylor & Francis Online yang menghasilkan 9 artikel sebagai kajian artikel utama. Hasil dari penulisan ini yaitu berbagai fenomena populisme yang terjadi di berbagai negara memiliki ciri dan tujuannya masing. Negara, demokrasi, pluralisme dan populisme merupakan sebuah entitas yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dan akan terus berdampingan sejalan. Populisme yang memberikan dampak bahaya adalah populisme yang menentang aturan demokrasi, sedangkan populisme yang memberikan dampak baik adalah populisme yang memiliki kontribusi dalam representasi dari berbagai entitas masyarakat.
