Abstract

Fruit and vegetable peels are a common type of organic waste generated in households. Due to their high water content, they decompose naturally. However, if left unattended, these peels undergo anaerobic bacterial decomposition, leading to unpleasant odors and detrimental environmental impacts. Fruit and vegetable peels have the potential to be transformed into valuable resources. One such method is by converting them into eco-enzyme. Eco-enzyme is a complex organic solution produced through the fermentation of fresh fruit and vegetable peels, brown sugar, and water. The resulting liquid is typically dark brown with a characteristically fresh, sour aroma. In RT 24, Simpang Rimbo, Jambi City, many housewives were unaware of the benefits of processing fruit and vegetable peels and lacked understanding of the distinction between organic and inorganic waste. This community service project aimed to reduce organic waste and its associated air pollution by promoting the production of eco-enzyme from fruit and vegetable peels. The project involved several stages: preparation, pretest, socialization, training, and posttest. The results indicated a high level of enthusiasm among participants and a significant improvement in their knowledge of organic waste management after the training

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning process that takes place when using lesson study based on Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) in the climate change course and describes the exploration of lesson study learning in the climate change course with Transcript based lesson analysis using nvivo. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, where data is collected through videos, voice recordings and documentation that is made into a conversation transcript in excel consisting of numbers, minutes, seconds, speakers and utterances, then the excel is analyzed using NVivo. The results of the analysis show that the TBLA-based lesson study method increases the active involvement of students in group discussions, student-teacher interactions, and in individual learning activities. The use of NVivo allows efficient and systematic data processing, providing visualization of interactions in the form of word clouds, word trees, and graphs to identify key themes in learning. This study is the first to use NVivo to analyze Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) data in the context of climate change learning. Previously, TBLA analysis was carried out manually, which was less efficient and potentially biased. The use of NVivo speeds up analysis, increases accuracy, and allows for more complex data visualization.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan menguraikan kesiapan para guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 10 Aceh Tengah dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran tematik sesuai standar yang ditetapkan. Metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Subyek penelitian melibatkan para guru yang telah berpengalaman. Keabsahan data diperiksa melalui triangulasi data dan member check, sedangkan analisis data melibatkan reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian mengungkap beberapa hal: sebagian guru yang memahami pembelajaran tematik kesulitan menerapkan konsep tersebut, namun mampu merencanakan pembelajaran dengan baik; para guru melaksanakan pembelajaran tematik sesuai RPP, namun metode dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan cenderung kurang bervariasi, sementara keterampilan dalam menyusun rubrik penilaian autentik masih perlu ditingkatkan. Kendala dalam implementasi meliputi ketersediaan sarana belajar yang terbatas, keterbatasan sumber belajar dan media, kesulitan menyusun rubrik penilaian sikap, dan hambatan dalam mengintegrasikan pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran tematik. Disarankan agar sekolah meningkatkan sarana dan prasarana, mengembangkan sumber belajar, memberikan pelatihan dalam menyusun rubrik penilaian autentik, serta mendukung integrasi pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran tematik guna meningkatkan efektivitas proses pembelajaran. AbstractThis study aims to analyze and describe the readiness of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 10 Aceh Tengah in implementing thematic learning according to the established standards. Descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. The research subjects involved experienced teachers. Data validity was checked through data triangulation and member check, while data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed several things: some teachers who understand thematic learning have difficulty applying the concept, but are able to plan lessons well; teachers implement thematic learning according to lesson plans, but the methods and learning media used tend to be less varied, while skills in compiling authentic assessment rubrics still need to be improved. Constraints in implementation include limited availability of learning facilities, limited learning resources and media, difficulties in preparing attitude assessment rubrics, and obstacles in integrating the scientific approach in thematic learning. It is recommended that schools improve facilities and infrastructure, develop learning resources, provide training in preparing authentic assessment rubrics, and support the integration of the scientific approach in thematic learning to improve the effectiveness of the learning process.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze lesson study learning in climate change courses on student collaboration skills during group learning.  The approach used is qualitative with the type of case study. The subjects in this study were physics education students who took climate change courses consisting of 16 students, including 13 female students and 3 male students. Data collection techniques used in the study by means of documentation and observation when learning with lesson study takes place. Documentation data was obtained during the learning process in the form of recordings of discussions of each group that participated in learning in the climate change course. The results showed that the collaboration skills of students varied between groups, influenced by group members and the ability to work together between members. Analysis with TBLA assisted by NVivo through coding and identifying the main themes, from the problems given to discuss related to the issue of climate change and modern agriculture. The results of the analysis based on learners' discussions showed a deep understanding of climate change and suggested solutions, such as vertical farming innovations, to overcome the challenges related to increasingly narrow agricultural land.  This study provides insights into lesson study in improving learners' awareness of climate change issues and learners' collaboration skills. Lesson study, with its collaboration-based approach, enables learners to actively discuss, evaluate and understand the impacts of climate change in a real context.

Abstract

This research attempts to improve students™ achievement in writing hortatory exposition text by using Dictogloss Technique. The result showed the improvement of students™ achievement in writing hortatory exposition text. It was found that the mean of the students™ scores in every test was improved. In the first test, the mean was 38.7 and there was 2.3% of the students who got up 75 points (Minimum Completeness Criteria), in the second test, it was 65.1 and 19.04% of the students who got up 75 points, and in the last one, the mean was 79.4 and there was 73.8% of the students who got up 75 points. The students felt enthusiastic, enjoyable, and active in teaching learning process through Dictogloss Technique. The result of the research showed the progress of achievement scores, it can be concluded that Dictogloss Technique gives contribution to improve students™ achievement in writing hortatory exposition text. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the scientific communication skills of junior high school students who participate in robotics extracurricular activities through STEM-based learning with the Transcript-Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) approach. The research was conducted at Nurul Ilmi 1 Integrated Islamic Junior High School, Jambi City, involving four groups of robotics extracurricular students. Each group is involved in the robot creation and testing project, and the interactions between group members during the activity are recorded, transcribed and analyzed using TBLA instruments. The analysis was carried out in a descriptive quantitative manner by calculating the frequency of the occurrence of six indicators of scientific communication, which were then converted into percentages. This process is done with the help of an excel application. Preliminary results show that the most dominant indicators are the ability to convey work verbally and the use of simple scientific terms, while the indicator asking about how robots work appears the least. These results provide an overview of students' scientific communication tendencies in the context of robotics activities, as well as provide a basis for the development of STEM learning models that can improve students' scientific communication skills through non-formal approaches

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interaksi siswa dalam pembelajaran STEM robotik yang dilakukan pada kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Lokasi penelitian ini adalah SMPIT Nurul Ilmi Jambi. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 20 siswa kelas VII yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler robotik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan Lesson Study dengan teknik Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) digunakan untuk menganalisis interaksi siswa berdasarkan lima indikator: percakapan, saling pengertian, bekerja sama, empati dan keterbukaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, rekaman audio, dan analisis transkrip menggunakan Excel, kemudian disajikan dalam dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil menunjukkan interaksi siswa didominasi oleh percakapan, dengan persentase tertinggi pada Kelompok 3 sebesar 62,61%. Sebaliknya indikator empati dan memberikan menunjukkan hasil yang sangat lemah pada semua kelompok, dengan persentase terendah hanya 0,17%. Hasil Indikator bekerja sama dan saling pengertian, bervariasi antar kelompok tanpa pola yang konsisten, menunjukkan dinamika interaksi yang tidak merata. Temuan ini mendukung kebijakan Permendikdasmen Nomor 13 Tahun 2025 tentang integrasi coding dan AI. Disarankan untuk mengintegrasikan pelatihan keterampilan sosial dan memperluas refleksi pada tahap “see” dalam Lesson Study guna meningkatkan aspek afektif dan keterampilan abad ke-21 siswa dalam pembelajaran STEM.

Abstract

Physics Education students, as future science educators, are required to possess 21st-century competencies, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and technological literacy. However, initial observations revealed that most students at Jambi University have not yet gained direct experience in applying coding and robotics as STEM-based learning media, which may hinder their readiness to face the challenges of teaching in the Industrial 4.0 era. This community service program was designed to enhance students’ technological literacy and STEM competencies through hands-on robotic coding training, employing methods such as workshops, tool demonstrations, educational robot programming practice, and project-based reflection. The training was conducted over two days and was attended by 40 students from the Physics Education Study Program at Jambi University. The evaluation results indicated that 85% of participants improved their knowledge and skills in robotic coding, 79% expressed enjoyment in using robotics applications and felt confident in creating new innovations, and 74% stated their interest in continuing to develop robotic applications, reflecting the sustainability of their motivation. Overall, this program successfully strengthened students’ innovative skills and broadened their perspectives on the integration of technology in education, with strong potential for replication to support the STEM curriculum and the Merdeka Belajar policy.

Abstract

Strengthening STEM literacy is essential in facing 21st-century challenges that demand critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and technological literacy. However, the implementation of STEM education in Indonesia still faces obstacles, such as limited technological training for teachers and the lack of student experience in project-based learning. Therefore, this program was designed to provide hands-on and practical experiences through educational robotics.This community service program was conducted at SMAS Perintis Tanjung Jabung Timur with the aim of enhancing students’ STEM literacy and strengthening teachers’ identity as STEM educators (STEM Teacher Identity) through robotics-based learning using the S4A Arduino platform. The implementation method included workshops, hands-on robot programming sessions, mini-project mentoring, and reflective learning activities. A total of 25 students and several teachers actively participated in the program. The evaluation results indicated that more than 85% of participants responded positively, Students stated that learning using S4A Arduino robotics was engaging and relevant to their everyday lives. Approximately 70% of Students successfully completed robotics projects that demonstrated a good understanding of how Arduino components work and function. Despite challenges such as limited tools and time, this program proved effective and relevant. Overall, the activity successfully enhanced 21st-century skills, strengthened teachers’ pedagogical competence, and showed potential for replication in other schools as a support to the STEM curriculum and the Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to Learn) policy. Abstrak. literasi STEM menjadi penting dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21 yang menuntut kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreatif, kolaboratif, dan melek teknologi. Namun, pelaksanaan pendidikan STEM di Indonesia masih menghadapi keterbatasan, seperti kurangnya pelatihan teknologi bagi guru dan minimnya pengalaman siswa dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman langsung dan aplikatif melalui robotika edukatif. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMAS Perintis Tanjung Jabung Timur untuk meningkatkan literasi STEM siswa serta memperkuat identitas guru sebagai pendidik STEM (STEM Teacher Identity) melalui pembelajaran berbasis robotik menggunakan platform S4A Arduino. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi workshop, praktik hands-on pemrograman robot, pendampingan proyek mini, serta refleksi pembelajaran. Sebanyak 25 siswa dan beberapa guru berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan lebih dari 85% peserta memberikan respons positif siswa menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan robotik S4A Arduino menarik dan relevan dengan kehidupan mereka sehari-hari. Sekitar 70% siswa berhasil menyelesaikan proyek robotik yang menunjukkan pemahaman yang baik tentang cara kerja dan fungsi komponen Arduino. Meskipun terdapat kendala berupa keterbatasan alat dan waktu, kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dan relevan. Secara keseluruhan, program ini berhasil memperkuat keterampilan abad ke-21, meningkatkan kompetensi guru, dan berpotensi direplikasi di sekolah lain sebagai dukungan terhadap kurikulum STEM dan kebijakan Merdeka Belajar.
