For data collection used were observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation. The theories used are conflict theory and social movement theory. Research in the field found that land conflicts were caused by companies not carrying out obligations that should be fulfilled by the company, as well as the emergence of Timber Utilization Permits (IPK), which then became a debate that led to conflict until now. The community has made various efforts to resolve the conflict, but the company still does not heed the things that have been agreed upon. Oil palm plantation companies and communities are always a record of cases of conflict that always exist and land conflicts are also classic problems and tend to drag on throughout the year.

Abstract

Culture is always attached to a cultural area which is passed down from generation to generation and then becomes a tradition and characteristic of an area. The Balimau Bakasai tradition is a ceremony to welcome the holy month of Ramadan which is held 1 day before the holy month of Ramadan by bathing together in the Kampar river which aims to purify oneself and stay in touch to forgive each other in welcoming the month of Ramadan. As time goes by, this tradition becomes thinner and loses its authenticity, this is because the original purpose of balimau kasai has changed to finding a mate for young people, drinking and other despicable acts. This research aims to determine the management of balimau kasai and its social, cultural and economic meaning for the people of Tanjung Berulak village. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interview techniques and documentation. . The results of the research explain that the implementation of the balimau bakasai tradition begins with visiting graves, tablig akbar and providing compensation for orphans, then ends with bathing with balimau kasai in the Kampar river, bringing kasai, kaffir lime, lime and pandan as well as various potpourri flowers which are used as body fragrance with the aim of cleansing oneself from dirty hadas and as a form of mutual forgiveness before the month of Ramadan. The meaning contained in the balimau bakasai tradition, among others, explains the social meaning of balimau bakasai as a social interaction between the people in Tanjung Berulak village with friendship and mutual cooperation, apart from that there is also a cultural meaning which states that balimau kasai is the culture of the people in the area and is routinely carried out every year to welcome the holy month of Ramadan which is believed by the community to cleanse themselves of the dirty hadas that sticks to them. Besides that, there are also folk games such as climbing areca nut sticks and spurting jute. Lastly, the enthusiasm of many people to follow the Balimau Kasai tradition also brings blessings to the people who sell at that place with an increase in income of 400-1000,000 when the tradition lasts.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how mechanical and organic solidarity mobilize Sialang honey production activities and also understand the strengths and weaknesses of mechanical and organic solidarity in the production activities of Sialang honey. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The results showed mechanical solidarity in the production activities of Sialang honey, as seen in the honey harvest process, where all honey farmers still have very close family ties and the trust of the farmers in customary norms is still very strong. If there is a conflict, then the principal will not produce honey again. Farmers avoid all types of conflicts, and if there is a conflict over honey, farmers will also take family paths in resolving the conflict so that basic sustainability is maintained. However, mechanical solidarity alone is not enough to market honey, so assistance is needed from other parties, namely the intervention of CSR PT RAPP in providing training and assistance in the processing, sales, and marketing of honey so that organic solidarity is formed. The strength of organic solidarity in Sialang honey production activities includes: Penetration of the Sialang Honey Sales Market, Starting from Pangkalan Kerinci, Pekanbaru, to Jakarta Sialang honey, which was previously not sold by honey farmers, has now been sold both offline and online. The use of technology to reduce water content so that honey becomes thicker attracts people to buy honey, and people believe in the quality of honey. The existence of the brand itself under the name of honey foresbi," which distinguishes Sialang honey from other honey.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the existing life of the Sakai Tribe in the context of land use and natural resources. The method used was qualitative by interviewing village government, traditional leaders, women's leaders, and youth leaders. The results of this research found that the source of the problems that are faced by the Sakai Tribe came from unequal control of the land and the natural resources. Besides it is not unbalanced, there is also an element of control that was carried out without legal means. The natural resources and the resources that were previously abundant and used for the livelihood of the Sakai tribe are gradually being controlled by the companies and the residents outside the Sakai traditional community. This condition causes their sociocultural system to experience changes with fading collective values becoming individualistic in the context of the use of natural resources. The conditions experienced by the Sakai Tribe need to be a concern to the stakeholders. They need social policy intervention to fulfill and protect the rights of indigenous peoples as regulated by the constitution.
