Abstract

This study examines the representation of violence against women in Leen Liu’s novel Rumah untuk Alie, which reflects the persistence of patriarchal domination and gender inequality in Indonesian society. The research aims to describe the forms of violence physical, emotional, and sexual, experienced by the female character and to analyze how these acts of violence position women as “the Other” through Simone de Beauvoir’s existentialist feminist perspective. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with textual analysis and data triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The results reveal that the female protagonist, Alie, experiences various forms of violence both in domestic and public spheres, such as physical abuse by her father, emotional neglect by her family, and sexual harassment in her social environment. These acts of violence symbolize systemic patriarchal control that confines women to a state of immanence, limiting their autonomy and subjectivity. Through Beauvoir’s theoretical lens, the novel exposes the philosophical significance of such oppression, how women’s bodies and existence are reduced by male dominance while still yearning for transcendence and self-liberation. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of women’s existential struggle and emphasizes the importance of gender awareness in literature as a means of promoting equality. Moreover, the findings hold broader societal implications by highlighting the structural nature of gender-based violence and underscoring the practical significance of these results in promoting gender equality and fostering social awareness to combat systemic oppression.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Quizizz in increasing student learning motivation at SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Kalisat. The research sample consisted of 20 students in class X DKV 1. The type of research was the development of learning media with descriptive qualitative data analysis, using the model of Matthew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman (Miles & Huberman, 1994). The results of the data analysis show that the majority of students stated that they felt more enthusiastic about learning and felt challenged when using Quizizz as a learning medium. These findings indicate that Quizizz can be used to increase student learning motivation at SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Kalisat.

Abstract

Pada persiapan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode pengajaran SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas VII di SMPN 3 Ambulu. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami teks bacaan, yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya metode pembelajaran yang interaktif. Metode SQ3R dipilih karena pendekatannya yang sistematis dan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca. Perencanaan penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus, yang mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan tes hasil belajar, baik pre-test maupun post-test. Penerapan metode ini juga meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan motivasi membaca. Dengan demikian, metode SQ3R dapat direkomendasikan sebagai strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman di tingkat sekolah menengah pertama

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran teks biografi yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan literasi siswa kelas X MAN 2 Jember. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D), dengan tahapan analisis kebutuhan, desain modul, validasi ahli, uji coba lapangan, dan evaluasi. Modul ini disusun dengan pendekatan berbasis literasi yang mengintegrasikan elemen-elemen interaktif, seperti diskusi, penulisan reflektif, dan analisis nilai-nilai dari tokoh biografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul ini layak digunakan berdasarkan validasi ahli bahasa, materi, dan media, dengan skor rata-rata tinggi pada aspek kebahasaan, kesesuaian materi, dan desain. Modul yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran, memperkuat kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta menghubungkan pembelajaran teks biografi dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan demikian, modul ini dapat menjadi alat pembelajaran yang efektif dan relevan untuk memperkuat literasi siswa.

Abstract

Kegiatan di bidang pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi kreatif para siswa dan guru di SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Songgon melalui pelatihan dalam penyusunan dan kurasi buku cerita bergambar. Guru dan siswa diharapkan tidak hanya menjadi konsumen bahan bacaan anak, tetapi juga mampu menciptakan karya literasi yang edukatif, menarik, dan sejalan dengan nilai-nilai karakter serta kearifan lokal.  Pengabdian ini didorong oleh fakta bahwa perkembangan literasi anak sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas bahan bacaan dan peran guru sebagai fasilitator literasi. Namun, banyak siswa dan guru SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Songgon yang tidak memiliki keterampilan untuk menulis dan mengevaluasi buku pendidikan anak. Menurut (Salamah, N. 2024) situasi ini telah memunculkan kebutuhan akan program pelatihan yang membantu guru memahami prinsip-prinsip penulisan dan kurasi cerita, sehingga materi yang dihasilkan sesuai untuk digunakan dalam pengajaran literasi kepada anak.  Pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan sebagai berikut: (a) meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan siswa dan guru SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Songgon dalam menulis teks untuk buku cerita bergambar anak, (b) membekali mereka dengan pengetahuan tentang kriteria kurasi dan teknik, serta penyuntingan materi ajar untuk publikasi yang tepat, (c) memproduksi karya literasi dalam bentuk buku cerita bergambar yang ditulis oleh guru dan siswa, dan (d) memperkuat budaya literasi kreatif di lembaga pendidikan SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Songgon. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode: (a) analisis kebutuhan, (b) penyusunan materi, (c) workshop, (d) kurasi naskah, (e) penyempurnaan naskah, (f) diseminasi, dan (g) monitoring. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah: (a) adanya peningkatan keterampilan siswa dan guru dalam menulis buku cerita bergambar sebesar 80%, (b) siswa dan guru memahami kriteria kurasi dan penyuntingan, sebesar 82,3,(c) siswa dan guru mampu memproduksi karya literasi dengan angka 83%, (d) siswa dan guru menunjukkan kemampuan dalam memperkuat budaya literasi di sekolah sebesar 84%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the most dominant characteristics of romanticism in a collection of Madurese song lyrics uploaded to Fajar Syahid's YouTube channel. This study was motivated by the limited research on the aesthetic and emotional values in regional songs, especially Madurese songs. The focus of the study is on the three most dominant characteristics of romanticism, namely melancholy or gloom, sentimentality, and individualism. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a romanticism approach. The data sources were 15 Madurese song lyrics selected through a reduction technique and categorized based on six characteristics of romanticism, namely return to nature, gloom or melancholy, primitivism, sentimentality, individualism, and exoticism. The analysis was carried out by identifying, interpreting, and describing lyrics that reflect the characteristics of romanticism. The results of the study show 42 instances of romanticism, including melancholy (14), sentimentality (15), individualism (7), return to nature (1), exoticism (2), and primitivism (3). These findings show that the most dominant characteristics are melancholy, sentimentality, and individualism. Melancholy is depicted through expressions of deep sadness and loss; sentimentality through outbursts of love and excessive longing; and individualism through characters who tend to be reclusive and bottle up their feelings. The results of the study confirm that Madurese song lyrics not only serve as entertainment, but also represent literary value and emotional depth that are relevant to be studied as part of the local literary heritage based on regional culture.

Abstract

Screen printing business is one of the businesses that can apply the creative economy based on Indonesian language and literature. Screen printing products with unique word processing designs have the potential to attract consumer interest and can be used as a means to socialize the values ??of language and literature in them. Especially by adding designs containing local wisdom to the screen printing products. The purpose of this service activity is to help one of the screen printing SMEs (Partners) overcome obstacles in their business. The implementation method used is the lecture method with a participatory learning approach. This activity begins with providing an understanding to Partners about the creative industry based on Indonesian Language and Literature. Followed by discussions with partners to develop a screen printing product with a word processing design that emphasizes Jember local wisdom along with an effective marketing strategy through online media. In addition, it also introduces PSAK EMKM as a guide for Partners in preparing their business financial reports.

Abstract

Instilling moral values ​​through read aloud has the potential to be developed. This type of training serves to instill moral values ​​contained in the culture of pendalungan and provide knowledge about read aloud. Especially if the knowledge of the culture of pendalungan can be introduced directly to children. Mitra is the Almuna Creative community owned by Dania Puspitasari. The proposing team intends to collaborate to carry out read aloud training through folklore from Pendalungan. As for what partners are currently facing are: (a) partner's lack of understanding about guidance to parents in choosing the right books for children, (b) partner's lack of understanding about the importance of reading aloud through folklore from pendalungan, and (c) partner's lack of understanding about the folklore of pendalungan. Thus, based on the observations and presentations that have been described, the problems and solutions offered by the PKM Team can be obtained in the read aloud training activities through folklore from Pendalungan. The activities carried out in this PKM are given through the lecture method with a participatory learning approach with an emphasis on the principle of learning by doing. By understanding the presentation of this PKM activity, participants can be moved in conveying messages through folklore from Pendalungan. The PKM team gave presentations on: (a) guidance to parents in choosing the right books for children, (b) the importance of reading aloud through folklore from pendalungan, and (c) folklore from pendalungan. The results obtained during the activity included: a) PKM participants had guidelines in choosing the right books for children, (b) PKM participants had the ability to convey messages through reading aloud strategies based on fun folklore from pendalungan, (c) PKM participants had understanding of folklore from pendalungan as a strategy for instilling moral values.
