Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengkaji produksi karkas, non karkas, edible portion dan non edible portion dari non  karkas kambing lokal lepas sapih yang diberi asam lemak terproteksi. Materi penelitian terdiri dari kambing jantan lokal umur 4-6 bulan sebanyak 16 ekor dengan kisaran bobot badan 10-12 kg, pakan hijauan dan ALT.  Pakan yang digunakan terdiri dari hijauan dan campuran asam lemak terproteksi.  Rancangan penelitian adalah rancangan  acak  lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, dengan perlakuan P1= 0 g ALT, P2 = 200 g ALT, P3 = 250 g ALT dan P4 = 300 g ALT.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot potong, potongan karkas, edible portion dan non edible portion terkecuali pada limfa dan ginjal.  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian asam lemak terproteksi sebanyak 200-300 g/ekor/hari mampu meningkatkan bobot badan, bobot akhir atau bobot potong serta bobot karkas dan bobot non karkas baik edible portion maupun non edible portion, terkecuali bobot limpa pada kambing jantan lokal dalam fase pertumbuhan. Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efek pemberian asam lemak terproteksi yang berasal dari hasil samping pengolahan limbah ikan terhadap performa kambing peranakan etawa dalam pertumbuhan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kandang ternak Desa Alebo, Kabupaten Konawe Selatan dan Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Teknologi Pakan, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Halu Oleo, Kendari. Materi penelitian meggunakan 16 ekor kambing peranakan etawa berumur 4-6 bulan dan bobot badan 10-12 kg. Pakan yang digunakan terdiri atas hijauan dan asam lemak terproteksi (ALT) sebagai campuran garam karboksilat kering (CGKK). Rancangan penelitian adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas T1= 0 g ALT; T2 = 200 g ALT; T3 = 250 g ALT, dan T4 = 300 g ALT. Variabel penelitian meliputi kosumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan kambing peranakan Etawa fase pertumbuhan. Rataan konsumsi pakan (Kg BK/ekor/minngu) T1 = 4,58; T2 = 5,68; T3 = 6,19; dan T4 = 6,48. Rataan pertambahan bobot badan (kg/ekor/minggu) T1 = 0.43, T2 = 0.90, T3 = 1.44 dan T4 = 1.42. Rataan konversi pakan T1 = 10,63; T2 = 7,61. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian asam lemak terproteksi (ALT) yang berasal dari hasil sampig pengolahan limbah ikan (200-300 g/ekor/hari) meningkatkan konsumsi bahan kering, pertambahan bobot badan, dan memperbaiki efisiensi konversi pakan kambing peranakan etawa fase pertumbuhan.Kata kunci: asam lemak terproteksi, kambing PE, performa,ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research was to know  the effect of applying protected fatty acids originated from by-product of fish processing on performance growth phase ettawa crossbred. The study was conducted at Cattle Pen located at Alebo village, South Konawe Regency, and Laboratory of Nutrition Science and Feed Technology, Faculty of Animal Science, Halu Oleo University, Kendari. The materials used 16 Etawa crossbred aged 4-6 months and weighed 10-12 kg.  The feeds were applied consist of roughage and protected fatty acid (PFA), as dry carboxylate salt mixture, DCM. The research design was Complete Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 4 repeatition. The treatments were    T1= 0 g PFA; T2 = 200 g PFA; T3 = 250 g PFA; and T4 = 300 g PFA. Variable were feed intake, gain, and feed conversionl. The results of research showed that the treatments had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the feed consumption, weekly gain, and feed conversion on the growth phase. The average feed consumption (kg dry mater/head/week) T1 = 4.58; T2 = 5.68; T3 = 6.19; and T4 = 6.48. The concluded that application of protected fatty acid (PFA), originated from by-product of fish processing (200-300 g/head/day) increased dry matter intake, weekly gain, and improved feed conversion efficiency etawa crossbred.Keywords: ettawa crossbred, performance, protected fatty acid

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the cost variable, fixed price, earned profits, and B/C ratio, as well as to determine consumers’ preference for beef meatballs in Kolaka regency. Population of the study included all sellers of beet meatballs in Kolaka. Samples were drawn using Slovin formula with 1% tolerance degree to come up with 64 mobile sellers of meatballs, whereas consumers’ preference was determined by using accidental sampling method to obtain 100 panelist of consumers. Data were analyzed by calculating cost, incomes, profits, as well as B/C ratio, whereas consumer’s, preference was analyzed by using 1-5 hedonic scale on a variety of characteristics including color, texture, chewiness, crack poer, and acceptance. On average, 81.25% of the beef meatballs sellers were within a category of productive age, 54,68% of 64 respondents had formal education (senior high school), 43.75% had 4-6 members of family, and 57.18% had more than 20 years of experiences in business. The majority of the sellers chose this business because it was considered more profitable than others. The average fixed income of the sellers was Rp 1.840.000 labor 81% of fixed cost. In terms of cost variable , as much as Rp. 13.341.000 was spent for materials, which was the largest portion or 67% of the total of cost variable. The total cost was Rp. 15.181.000 or 87% of the total of cost. The everage of income generated per month was Rp 23.000.000. The average of profits earned the sellers was Rp. 7.819.000. The B/C ratio per month was 0.51, indicating that the ratio was higher than 0, therefore the business of beef meatballs was profitable and feasible enough to run. Key Word : Beef meatballs sellers, Profit, Cost

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dari pemberian kunyit (3%), bawang putih (5%) dan mineral zink (180 ppm) terhadap kadar kolesterol darah broiler.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pakan Terpadu Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Hasanuddin dengan menggunakan DOC sebanyak 100 ekor broiler dari Strain Arbor Acres 707, dibagi ke dalam 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yang setiap perlakuan terdiri atas 5 ekor. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis statistik dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan diuji lanjut dengan uji ortogonal kontras. Ransum perlakuan R0 (ransum jadi atau kontrol), R1 (ransum jadi + serbuk bawang putih 5% + serbuk kunyit 3%, R2 (ransum jadi + serbuk bawang putih 5% + ZnO 180 ppm), R3 (ransum jadi + serbuk kunyit 3% + ZnO 180 ppm), R4 (ransum jadi + serbuk bawang putih 5% + serbuk kunyit 3% + ZnO 180 ppm). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian serbuk bawang putih, kunyit dan mineral zink dalam pakan menurunkan terhadap parameter kadar kolesterol darah. Kombinasi serbuk bawang putih (5%) dan ZnO (180 ppm) pada perlakuan R2 efektif menurunkan kadar kolesterol total, LDL, trigliserida dan meningkatkan kadar HDL dalam darah.Kata kunci : Kunyit, Bawang putih, Zink, Kolesterol darah.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe study was conducted to find out the effect of fed commercial ration substituted soybean shell meal (SSM) on native chickens carcass and non carcass weight and percentage. Sixteen native chicken aged 7 weeks and was treatmented T0 (0% SSM), T1 (10% SSM), T2 (20% SSM) and T3 (30% SSM) each. 4 chickens. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD). Data obtained were analyzed using a analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then was continued with Duncans multiple range test (DMRT). Results of the study showed that slaughter weights (SW, g/chicken) are highest 529.0 (T2) followed with 484.0 (T3), 452 (T1) and lowest 402.0 (T0). Carcass Weights (CW, g/chicken) are highers 421.50 (T2), followed with 370.75 (T3), 331.50 (T1) and lowest 285.50 (T0). Carcass percentages (CP, %) are highest 76.69 (T2), 76.64 (T3) followed with 73.39 (T1), 71.42 (T0). Non carcass weights (NCW, g/chicken) 116.50-113.25 (T0-T3) and non carcass  percentage (NCP, %) are highest 26.68 (T1), 25.58 (T0), 23.36 (T3) and lowest 20.31 (T2). Gizzard weights (GW, g/chicken) are 14.00 (T0), 18.00 (T1), 17.50 (T2) and 14.50 (T3). Gizzard percentages (GP, %) are 3.71 (T0), 3.99 (T1), 3.31 (T2) and 3.00 (T3). Liver weights (LW, g/chicken) are 12.00 (T0), 13.50 (T1), 15.00 (T2) and 12.00 (T3). Liver percentages (LP, %) are 2,98 (T0), 2,97 (T1), 2.85 (T2) and 2.48 (T3). Heart weights (HW, g/chicken) was 2.00 (T0), 2.00 (T1), 2.50 (T2) and 2.00 (T3). Heart percentages (HP,%) are 0.50 (T0), 0.45 (T1), 0,47 (T2) and 0.42 (T3). The conclusion of the study that fed commercial ration substituted soybean shell meal improved carcass performa but non significantly influence non carcass (viscera) performance native chicken.  Key words: soybean, shell meal, carcass, non-carcass, viscera, native chicken

Abstract

This study aims to know the effect of addition of Drymoglosum pilloseloides flour on in vitro digestibility of consentrates made from fermentation feed. The treatments consist of concentrates ware added Drymoglosum pilloseloides flour 0% (R0), 0,05% (R1), 0,1% (R2), and 0,15% (R3). Experimental design was used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. This study was conducted during four weeks in Animal Science Department, of Animal Science Faculty, of Haluoleo University. The average of water content of each treatment was 15,50% ± 2,56% (R0), 16,17% ± 0,32% (R1), 17,80% ± 1,57% (R2) and 16,83% ± 1,58% (R3), ash content was 25,90% ± 0,72% (R0), 21,40% ± 0,52% (R1), 20,07% ± 0,25% (R2) and 18,50% ± 0,53% (R3), dry matter digestibility was 81,33% ± 1,00% (R0), 81,73% ± 0,49% (R1), 82,27% ± 0,91% (R2) and 81,40% ± 0,10% (R3), organic matter digestibility was 81,70% ± 1,31% (R0), 83,90% ± 1,59% (R1), 83,17% ± 0,90% (R2) and 82,50% ± 0,46% (R3). The result of analysis of variance not showed that addition of Drymoglosum pilloseloides flour 0%, 0,05%, 0,10% and 0,15% significant effect (P>0,05) on water content, dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility. While concentrates with addition of Drymoglosum pilloseloides flour 0%, 0,05%, 0,10% and 0,15% significant effect (P<0,05) on ash content. Dry matter and organic matter digestibility were higher than normal range that usually be given to animal. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penampilan produksi ayam kampung umur 10 minggu yang diberi ransum dengan suplementasi asam lemak terproteksi asam lemak terproteksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 48 ekor ayam kampung yang dibagi ke dalam 12 plot kandang. Penelitian ini terdiri atas 3 perlakuan (P0= ransum komersial 100 %, P1= ransum komersial + campuran garam karboksilat kering 3%, P2= ransum komersial + hidrolisat minyak sayur 3%), dan 4 ulangan. Rataan konsumsi ransum 53,52 ± 3,96 (P0), 38,86 ± 5,12 (PI) dan 50,72 ± 6,41 (P2), pertambahan bobot badan 17,41 ± 4,80 (P0), 18,89 ± 2,77 (PI), dan 16,22 ± 1,29 (P2), konversi ransum 6,11 ± 1,46 (P0), 3,92 ± 1,06 (PI), dan 5,71 ± 1,09 (P2). Analisis data menggunakan sidik ragam dilanjutkan dengan uji Kontras Ortogonal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi asam lemak terproteksi dalam ransum berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum ayam kampung umur 10 minggu. Kesimpulan bahwa (1) pemberian ransum dengan suplementasi asam lemak terproteksi 3% CGKK (Campuran garam karboksilat kering) pada ayam kampung selama 3 minggu cenderung meningkatkan konsumsi bahan kering dan pertambahan bobot badan tetapi menurunkan konversi ransum dan (2) pemeberian ransum dengan suplementasi asam lemak terproteksi 3% HMS (Hidrolisat minyak sayur) pada ayam kampung selama 3 minggu cenderung meningkatkan konsumsi bahan kering, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum.Kata kunci: Suplementasi, Asam Lemak Terproteksi dan Performans Ayam Kampung

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah untuk mempelajari hematologi ayam kampung super yang diberi minyak kelapa sawit terproteksi dalam ransum. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 64 ekor ayam kampong super yang tidak dibedakan jenis kelaminnya yang dipelihara sampai umur 5 minggu. Penelitian terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan dan setiap ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam. Minyak kelapa sawit terproteksi digunakan pada level 0% (P0), 3%(P1), 6% (P2), dan 9% (P3). Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan jumlah leukosit. Penelitian menggunakan percobaan dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) apabila terdapat perbedaan perlakuan maka dilanjutkan Uji Berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa minyak kelapa sawit terproteksi tidak memberikan perbedaan yang nyata terhadap jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan jumlah leukosit. Disarankan agar melakukan kajian lebih lanjut mengenai minyak kelapa sawit terproteksi. Kata kunci: Hematologi, Ayam kampung super, Minyak kelapa sawit terproteksi

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi kecernaan in vitro bahan kering dan bahan organik kulit singkong yang difermentasi menggunakan jamur Aspergillus niger dan EM-4 sehingga dapat memberikan informasi tambahan mengenai kualitas kulit siongkong yang difermentasi maupun tanpa fermentasi.  Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan.  Perlakuan yang diberikan terhadap kulit singkong adalah P1 (tanpa fermentasi), P2 (fermentasi dengan Aspergillus niger), P3 (fermentasi dengan EM-4), P4 (fermentasi dengan kombinasi A. niger dan EM-4).  Evaluasi kecernaan in vitro ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Tilley and Terry.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan jamur A. niger dan EM-4 dalam proses fermentasi kulit singkong dapat meningkatkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan kering kulit singkong secara signifikan dimana hasil terbaik diperoleh pada penambahan kombinas A. niger dan EM-4.Kata kunci: Aspergillus niger, bahan kering, bahan organik, EM-4, kecernaan in vitroABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of fermented cassava peel using Aspergillus niger and EM-4 inoculant to provide additional information about the quality of fermented and unfermented cassava peel. The study design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were P1 (without fermentation), P2 (fermented with Aspergillus niger), P3 (fermented with EM-4), P4 (fermented with a combination of A. niger and EM-4). This in vitro digestibility evaluation was conducted by using the Tilley and Terry method. The results showed that the addition of A. niger fungi and EM-4 in the fermentation process of cassava peel could significantly improve the digestibility of dry matter and dry matter of cassava peel where the best results were obtained on the addition of A. niger and EM-4 combinations.Keywords: Aspergillus niger, dry matter, EM-4, in vitro digestibility, organic matter

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan Untuk mengetahui mutu daging sapi yang dimarinasi dalam jus buah pinang (Areca catechu L.) dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda. Variable yang diamati adalah warna, aroma, tekstur, susut masak dan mutu kimia. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di UPT. Laboratorium Terpadu Universitas Halu Oleo Kendari pada bulan Januari 2016. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL)  dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu daging yang dimarinasi dalam jus buah pinang 55 % (P1), daging yang dimarinasi dalam jus buah pinang 60 % (P2), daging yang dimarinasi dalam jus buah pinang 65 % (P3), dan daging yang dimarinasi dalam jus buah pinang 70 % (P4). dan 3 ulangan. Variable meliputi uji organoleptik (warna, aroma dan tekstur), uji kualitas fisik (susut masak), dan uji kualitas kimia (kadar air dan kadar protein). Hasil penelitian diperoleh 1. Uji organoleptik pada daging sapi yang dimarinasi dalam jus buah pinang dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda menunjukkan warna yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) yaitu menghasilkan warna daging merah (2,08–2,35), aroma menunjukkan pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) yaitu menghasilkan aroma khas daging dan sedikit aroma pinang (1,85–1,98) serta tekstur menunjukkan pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) yaitu tekstur daging yang sedang (2,05–2,35). 2. Susut masak daging sapi yang dimarinasi dalam jus buah pinang dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda menunjukkan pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05). 3. Kadar Air dan kadar protain daging sapi yang di marinasi dalam jus buah pinang dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda menunjukkan pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05). Kata kunci : Jus buah pinang, Daging sapi bali, Organoleptik, Mutu Fisik, Mutu Kimia
