Abstract

Practical activities are activities that play a big role in the implementation of biology learning, because this activity will really help students improve their skills in working with nature and the environment. This research aims to find out the implementation of class XI biology practicum at SMAN in terms of conformity with the basic competencies in the 2013 curriculum. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Sampling for research subjects was carried out using cluster sampling with 10 schools as selected research subjects. The research results show that the implementation of biology practicum for class The practicum with the lowest implementation was KD 4.4 Presenting data from observations of tissue and organ structures in animals with a percentage of 37.5%, and the highest was KD 4.3 Presenting data from observations of tissue and organ structures in plants with a percentage of 85%. For the practicum implementation aspect, 30% of schools are in the very good category, 20% are in the good and sufficient category and 30% are in the very poor category..

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji konsep kurikulum merdeka berdasarkan pandangan progresivisme dalam belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA). Penelitian ini akan menggunakan teknik penelitian kepustakaan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggali data melalui pencarian literatur dan membaca, meneliti, dan mencatat dari berbagai sumber seperti jurnal, artikel, dan buku yang relevan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis isi. Melalui analisis studi literatur tersebut didapatkan hasil bahwa Kurikulum merdeka erat kaitannya dengan filosofi progresivisme. Melalui filsafat progresivisme utamanya dalam belajar IPA, peserta didik dituntut agar semakin maju dan berkembang serta mampu bersaing dengan pesatnya perubahan yang terjadi di bidang pendidikan seperti perkembangan teknologi pembelajaran saat ini. Oleh karena itu, filsafat progresivisme ini juga turut mendukung pembelajaran sains untuk terus mengalami perubahan, khususnya pada pendekatan saintifik yang harus selalu diperbarui sesuai dengan prinsip progresivisme yang mengutamakan progres untuk perubahan yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The proper utilization of educational media is crucial for the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. Given the characteristics of Generation Z and Alpha, who are familiar with digital technology, it is important for teachers to integrate engaging digital learning media. Issues such as low motivation and student engagement are often caused by inappropriate learning media. Using game-based learning applications like Gimkit can be an effective solution. Gimkit allows teachers to provide practice questions in a fun game format, enhancing student understanding. However, in Majene Regency, the use of Gimkit is not widely known among teachers. Therefore, a training session was held to introduce and train 25 secondary school teachers in Majene Regency on May 11, 2024, at SMPN 2 Majene, West Sulawesi. This training employed lecture and practical methods, including presentations on gamification in education, types of gamification applications, and the use of Gimkit. Participants practiced creating accounts, making question sets (Kits), and simulating games with Gimkit, followed by discussions on suitable materials for this application. Questionnaires indicated that the training met the participants' needs, was clearly presented, and was beneficial in increasing their knowledge of game-based learning media. This training is expected to improve student motivation and engagement in learning in Majene Regency

Abstract

Abstract. The activity of using the TikTok application was carried out at the Yamasi Pharmacy Vocational School, Makassar, which aimed to explain how to use the TikTok application for the learning process in class. This activity uses qualitative descriptive methods. TikTok is a major subject in learning, and its focus is on using such applications as a medium for learning processes. This information is collected through descriptive analysis methods that use journals as sources of information. Data analysis consists of data reduction, data delivery, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the use of the TikTok application, in addition to strategies of exploitation and idealization, can be beneficial as an interactive and exciting learning method. The TikTok application is suitable for learning activities because it is easy to use and has many functions, so the TikToks application can be applied to learning activities. Abstract

Artikel ini mengeksplorasi implementasi filosofi pendidikan yang menginspirasi oleh guru prajabatan dalam membentuk kemandirian dan kreativitas siswa. Dengan menelusuri konsep-konsep filosofis seperti humanisme, progresivisme, dan konstruktivisme, serta melibatkan penelitian tindakan dan studi literatur, artikel ini memberikan gambaran tentang bagaimana guru prajabatan dapat menjadi agen perubahan dalam pendidikan yang mendorong pengembangan pribadi dan kreativitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemahaman mendalam guru prajabatan terhadap konsep filosofis dan efektivitas strategi pembelajaran dalam merangsang kemandirian dan kreativitas siswa. Artikel ini diakhiri dengan penekanan pada peran kunci guru prajabatan dalam membawa filosofi pendidikan ke dalam kelas, memberikan inspirasi bagi praktisi pendidikan.

Abstract

Adapatasi teknologi merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menyiapkan guru sebgai pendidik menghadapi peserta didik saat ini yang dijuluki sebagaii generesi Z, generasi yang kesehariannya tidak terlepas dari teknologi seperti gadget, laptop dan internet. Permasalahan guru SMP Negeri 21 Bulukumba adalah belum maksimalnya penggunaan teknologi seperti komputer dan jarigan internet yang ada disekolah sebagai sarana pembelajaran. Umumnya jaringan internet hanya digunakan sebagai sarana untuk download materi berupa ppt maupun video kemudian dipresentasikan secara konvensional di depan kelas. Berdasarkan malasalah ini, maka tim pengabdi menganggap perlu dilakukannya upaya adaptasi teknogi di dalam pembelajaran berupa pemanfaatan aplikasi quizizz sebahai gamifikasi pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada para guru membuat instrument evaluasi dengan menggunakan aplikasi quizizz. Setelah pelaksanaan program, terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru di dalam membuat dan memanfaatkan quizizz sebagai sarana pembelajaran berbasis games.

Abstract

The global environmental crisis and the development of digital technology in the 21st century require the world of education to integrate ecological values and technological innovation into the learning process. This study aims to analyze the relevance of naturalism philosophy as a basis for developing technology-assisted environment-based learning in the context of 21st-century learning. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research method, with data sources in the form of books, scientific journals, and relevant academic documents. The results of the study show that the principles of naturalism, which emphasize direct experience and connection with nature, can be combined with digital technology to strengthen interactive and meaningful environmental learning. This integration can foster 21st-century skills such as critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking. Thus, naturalism provides a philosophical and ecological foundation, while technology becomes a means of supporting humanistic and sustainable learning.

Abstract

This article analyzes deep learning as an existential process that positions students as free, conscious, and reflective individuals within the learning experience. Through a literature review of core existential concepts and humanistic educational approaches, the study highlights that deep learning goes beyond conceptual understanding toward meaning-making, identity formation, and the development of personal authenticity. These principles align with Indonesia’s Merdeka Belajar curriculum, which emphasizes learner autonomy, independence, and holistic development. Deep learning enables students to connect knowledge with personal experiences, making the learning process more meaningful and relevant to their lives. Teachers serve as existential facilitators who create dialogic, reflective, and humanistic learning environments where knowledge is offered as lived experience rather than imposed content. The findings indicate that integrating existential perspectives with deep learning contributes to a humanizing educational ecosystem that fosters self-awareness, personal responsibility, and reflective capability in students. Thus, education functions not merely as the transmission of knowledge but as a transformative process that guides learners toward becoming authentic individuals who are aware of their existence and the meaning behind their learning experiences. Abstract

Modern education faces challenges in realizing meaningful learning that is grounded in students’ real-life experiences. One effort to address this challenge is through the integration of the philosophy of naturalism with the deep learning approach. This study aims to analyze the relevance of the philosophy of naturalism and the deep learning approach in biology learning, particularly on the topic of environmental waste issues. The method used is a literature study (library research) by examining various scientific sources such as journals, books, and previous research related to both topics. The findings indicate that the philosophy of naturalism emphasizes the importance of a learning process that is in harmony with nature and based on students’ empirical experiences. Meanwhile, the deep learning approach promotes meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning, enabling students to understand concepts deeply and contextually. The integration of both can enhance the effectiveness of biology learning, especially in fostering awareness and responsibility towards the environment. In conclusion, the synergy between the philosophy of naturalism and the deep learning approach serves as a relevant and practical strategy for improving the quality of biology education while shaping students’ character to be environmentally conscious, particularly regarding waste management

Abstract

Digital infographics can be an alternative visual learning media that can be used both inside and outside the classroom. Content related to bacteria in relevant learning media is very important, as bacteria can be found almost everywhere, including on the exoskeletons of houseflies. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop a digital infographic based on the identification of bacteria on the exoskeletons of houseflies using the ADDIE development model. Product validation was carried out by 3 experts, and implementation was conducted with 32 tenth-grade students at SMAN 20 in Gowa Regency. This digital Eubacteria infographic is a visual representation of research conducted in the FMIPA UNM laboratory. It illustrates six different types of bacteria identified from the exoskeleton of houseflies, complete with microscopic images and a brief description of each bacterium's characteristics. The infographic is packaged as an application accessible via Android smartphones. The results of the study show that the digital infographic was rated as very valid with an average score of 94%, very practical with an average score of 96%, and highly effective with an N-gain value of 0.8. This study indicates that the use of contextual learning media can improve students' learning outcomes.
