Abstract

Purpose: Toddler development is a condition of change in the form and function of organ and individual maturation. Under-five developmental disorders are still a case that requires special attention. The first 1000 days of a child's birth is the golden period for child development. Based on data Kemenkes in 2021 shows that there are 7,512.6 per 100,000 population (7.51%) of toddlers in Indonesia who experience developmental disorders. There are several factors that influence development, including nutritional status and family environmental sanitation. Nutritional status as measured by Body Mass Index (BMI) affects the development of toddlers. The relationship with nutritional status, if the nutritional status is poor then it becomes a factor that further disrupts the physical development of toddlers with optimal nutritional status. Methodology: This study used a analytic design, with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling using fixed disease sampling method from Development Pre-Screening Questionnaire and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior questionnaire data and medical records of toddlers at Gatak Health Center. Data analysis using the chi-square test with SPSS 25. The sample size used was 91 samples. Results: The results of chi-square nutritional status with the development of toddlers obtained OR = 6.618 (with p = 0.050). While the relationship between family environmental sanitation with the development of toddlers obtained OR 5.661 (with p=0.022). Conclusion: Nutritional status and environmental sanitation are significantly associated with the development of toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a complex and long-term metabolic illness characterized by hyperglycemia, which is brought on by both insulin resistance and decreased insulin production. Type 2 diabetes mellitus may occur for a variety of reasons, including genetics, high amounts of free fatty acids, and beta-cell malfunction. Weight loss, remission, and an improved quality of life were all outcomes of lifestyle treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus, which centered on regular physical exercise and nutritious diet. Aim: This study aims to investigate the impact of lifestyle changes on the remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method: This article uses a literature review methodology, with a search of international literature through PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases with inclusion and exclusion criteria applied. This review follows the PRISMA chart. Results: To examine the existing literature and put the construction of the research procedure in context, preliminary reviews were searched in the PubMed, Google Scholar, database, as well as ScienceDirect. Five writers have spent time since the database's creation exploring the correlation between lifestyle factors and type 2 diabetes episodes or remissions. Efforts to control food consumption, exercise, and cellular app use Lifestyle interventions, such as programs that provide mentorship, may influence the incidence and remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: There have been promising results in the treatment and even remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus using lifestyle intervention such as diet intake control program, physical activity, monitoring by smartphone application, and mentor support.

Abstract

Understanding Self-directed learning readiness (SDLR) as internal factors as well as high motivation to learn can certainly be used as a predictor for the success of the learning process, in which it will result in satisfactory achievement of student learning. This study analyzed the relationship of SDLR towards the student’s achievement, the relationship of learning motivation towards the student’s achievement, the relationships of SDLR and learning motivation towards the achievement of students in the first year medical students. This study involved 52 respondents who received a questionnaire on self-learning readiness and motivation questionnaires. The data were analyzed by using Spearman test. There was asignificant correlation between self-directed learning readiness (SDLR) and learning achievement with the strength of the correlation was 0.874 (p: 0,000), between learning motivation and learning achievement with the strength of the correlation of 0. 848 (p: 0,000), between self-directed learning readiness (SDLR) and motivation to learn towards academic achievement with strength of the correlation for 0.870 (p: 0,000). Overall, there was a relationship between self-directed learning readiness and learning motivation towards learning achievement in the first year medical students.
