Abstract

Unit pengelolaan limbah medis merupakan pekerjaan yang membahayakan atau berisiko tinggi bagi pekerja. Bahaya yang dihadapi pekerja unit pengelolaan limbah berasal dari bahaya mekanik dan fisik, agar dapat dilakukan pengendalian bahaya yang tepat, maka perlu dilakukan risk assessment terhadap potensi bahaya yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari manajemen risiko dan mengidentifikasi manajemen limbah medis di Rs. X. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian observasional deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Data primer dikumpulkan dengan observasi dan wawancara serta data sekunder yang diperoleh dari instalasi sanitasi di RS. X. Objek penelitian ini adalah pekerjaan pengelolaan limbah medis. Sumber informasi adalah 6 orang pekerja pengelola limbah medis. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan tabel dan dibandingkan dengan standart dan teori yang ada. Metode yang digunakan dalam melakukan risk assessment mengacu pada teori manajemen risiko yang selanjutnya hasil digunakan untuk pengendalian risiko. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada 9 bahaya yang teridentifikasi, dengan hasil penilaian 7 bahaya kategori risiko rendah dan 2 bahaya dengan kategori risiko sedang. Pengendalian risiko yang sudah dilakukan RS. X yaitu pengendalian teknik yaitu penggantian kantong plastik sampah diganti dengan yang kantong plastik yang lebih tebal, lalu pengendalian administrasi dilakukan pendidikan dan pelatihan tentang bekerja secara aman, memasang rambu K3, pemasangan label bahan kimia berbahaya, dan pengadaan alat pelindung diri seperti safety shoes, sarung tangan dan pakaian kerja.

Abstract

Aims: The research objective is to determine the safe concentration of non-carcinogenic toluene in Surabaya printing. Methods and Material: The research design used was observational analytic, cross sectional research design with a quantitative approach. The research location is a printing press in Surabaya. Total population was 37 workers, the study sample was taken using the accidental sampling method with a total sample of 30 respondents. The formula for determining the concentration of toluene non carcinogen intake is (CxRxtExfExDt): (Wbx30x365). Results:  The concentration value of toluene exposure is greater than the standard set by labor regulations No. 5 of 2018 by 0.2 ppm. A total of 10% of workers falls under normal category, 73% above normal category and 27% below normal category. Conclusions: The concentration of toluene exposure in Surabaya printing area is above normal with a concentration of 0.2 ppm and this is considered normal.

Abstract

Introduction: Benzene is one of the pollutants in the shoe home industry that can cause cancer among the workers. The present research aimed to analyze the relationship between exposure to benzene and spmA (s-phenylmercapturic Acid) in the urine of shoe-making home industry workers in Surabaya. Methods: This was an observational study using an analytical research method where the total number of respondents in the sample was 10. The concentration of benzene was measured using Gas Chromatography-FID (Flame Ionization Detector). The data collection technique was descriptive analysis for each variable from among the worker’s characteristics. The analysis of the relationship between the level of spmA in their urine and the worker’s characteristics was performed using regression tests while the analysis of the relationship between the level of benzene in the air and the levels of workers’ spmA was performed using the Spearman correlation test. Results: The benzene I levels in the work environment were found to be between 0.06 ppm - 53.8 ppm. The average spmA was 6.68 μg/g creatinine. The p value of the relationship between the variable levels of benzene and the levels of spmA was 0.879 with a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.056. Conclusion: The mean concentration of benzene in the air at the 6 point uptake was over the threshold. Based on the results of the spmA examination, the mean value of spmA was below the threshold value. The test results on the level of benzene in the air and the spmA indicate a very weak relationship.

Abstract

Coronavirus 19 is a deadly disease that can kill thousands of people worldwide. However, not many researchers know that NO content can kill the COVID-19 virus. This research method is study design used retrospective methods, prospective and a systematic review. Search for reference sources began on March 10th - June 1st, 2021, using several online databases: 1) Pubmed, 2) Science Direct, 3) Google Scholar. Keywords used in the search term: COVID-19, Novel Coronavirus, SARS-CoV, Nitric Oxide, Dark Chocolate, Macrophages and included in journals accredited. This study looked for a list of references from the study, including 103 studies taken through the search. There are 63 articles in cleaning, and eight articles are included in the discussion. This review shows that COVID-19 can be attenuated and killed by the NO content produced by macrophages and supplied with NO content modulated by dark chocolate. Modulating NO-rich foods such as dark chocolate can effectively kill COVID-19. NO can also cure several diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some respiratory infections.

Abstract

Introduction: Nurses are an important human resource in hospital health services with a high-risk workplace that can cause accidents or occupational diseases. This study aims to analyze the relationship between near-miss knowledge, occupational health and safety skill, and work equipment with the occurrence of near-miss among nurses. Method: This research used a cross-sectional design. The population of this study was nurses in Ploso Regional Public Hospital. The samples were chosen using the purposive sampling method with a number of 53 nurses out of 56 population of nurses with consideration of safety during the Covid-19 pandemic. The independent variables were near-miss knowledge, occupational health and safety skill, and work equipment. The dependent variable was the occurrence of the near-miss. The data was collected using questionnaires. The data analysis technique used was the Pearson correlation test. Result: The result of the questionnaire showed most of the samples had high near-miss knowledge, high occupational health and safety skill, and good work equipment. The occurrence of near-miss among the nurses was mostly medium. The Pearson correlation test result showed that the correlation of near-miss knowledge was weak, occupational health and safety skill were fairly strong, and work equipment was weak. Conclusion: The relationship between near-miss knowledge with the occurrence of near-miss has a weak correlation with positive direction, the relationship between occupational health and safety skills and the occurrence of near-miss has a fairly strong correlation with negative direction, and the relationship between work equipment and the occurrence of near-miss has a weak correlation with negative direction.

Abstract

Introduction: Non-operational employees of the Terminal Jamrud Surabaya are faced with various work-related issues while performing their duties which can be stressful due to work demands, relationships with many parties, and workloads. This study analyzes the relationship between mental workload and work factors (role ambiguity, role conflict, job insecurity, and interpersonal conflict) with occupational stress for non-operational office employees at Terminal Jamrud Surabaya. Methods: This study was a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used in this study is total sampling. The sample for this study were all employees of the Terminal Jamrud Surabaya office, up to 30 people. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire to assess stress levels and work factors variables. The mental workload was measured using the NASA - Task Load Index questionnaire. Results: The employees mostly have a mental workload, role ambiguity, role conflict, and interpersonal conflict in the moderate category, while the majority of office employees have job insecurity at a low level. Meanwhile, the stress levels felt by employees were mainly in the moderate category. The strong relationship between mental workload with occupational stress is 0.634, while work factors with stress levels consist of role ambiguity (r=0.523), role conflict (r=0.468), job insecurity (r=0.075), and interpersonal conflict (r=0.445). Conclusion: Variables that have a strong relationship are mental workload variables with stress levels in non-operational office employees at Terminal Jamrud Surabaya, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III.

Abstract

It is known that there are several losses in the company's operating activities caused by the performance of contractors who have little understanding of occupational health and safety (OHS). Negligence by contractors can pose danger to the company's operations and cause accidents. therefore activities of contractors must be managed properly to ensure safety in every work activity on contractors, so it requires the management of contractor workers, namely the Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS). The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative analysis method of in-depth interviews, distribution of questionnaires, and field observations. The data will then be analyzed. Result: From the analysis that has been carried out, the results of research by interviewing workers, the implementation of CSMS began in 2014. PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk experienced a drastic reduction in lost time injury to zero accidents Where before the CSMS implementation, accidents were very frequent; 56 accidents in 2008 and 56 accidents in 2009. In conclusion, PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk has implemented CSMS properly and adequately. PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk involving contractor workers in the most questionnaire results are Accident and Near Accident Investigations, Safety Monitoring, Safety Talks, Making Work Permits and Hazardous Work Permits, Equipment Certification, Emergency Response, Personal Protective Equipment The factors that affect the effectiveness of CSMS implementation the most are training factors, communication factors, and behavioral factors, this can be seen in fewer rejections from respondents regarding the contents of the questionnaire

Abstract

Tekanan darah merupakan faktor yang penting pada sistem sirkulasi. Perubahan atau peningkatan tekanan darah pada perawat dapat menimbulkan gangguan sirkulasi jantung yang memengaruhi kesehatan perawat. Hasil studi pendahuluan menunjukkan perawat di tiga shift kerja yang berbeda memiliki hasil tekanan darah yang berbeda, terutama perawat yang bekerja pada shift kerja malam mengalami tekanan darah prehipertensi. Tekanan darah pada perawat dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor faktor pekerjaan (shift dan kelelahan kerja). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada perawat di Rumah Sakit X yang berlokasi di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Penelitian dilakukan pada Januari-Februari 2023. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan shift kerja dan kelelahan kerja dengan tekanan darah pada perawat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain studi cross-sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah perawat yang bekerja pada sistem kerja 3 shift sebanyak 137 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportional random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 102 orang. Data diperoleh dengan mengukur kelelahan kerja menggunakan kuesioner IFRC, dan tekanan darah diukur setelah bekerja oleh perawat menggunakan sphygmomanometer digital. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata tekanan darah perawat yaitu prehipertensi. Terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara kelelahan kerja (r=0,659) dengan tekanan darah. Sedangkan shift kerja dengan tekanan darah memiliki hubungan yang lemah (r=0,259). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah shift kerja malam dan kelelahan kerja tinggi dapat menyebabkan tekanan darah yang tinggi pada perawat di Rumah Sakit X.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the policy of fostering street vendors in Surabaya through a study of Surabaya City Regional Regulation No. 17 Year 2003. It was conducted using qualitative research on street vendors and the Surabaya City Government, opening up the possibility of various information materials from all sources. The results show that a) street vendors fostered by the Surabaya City Government have a unique character; on the one hand, they receive coaching assistance from the government, but on the other hand, they sometimes oppose government policies that touch their interests. In general, the fostered street vendors have peace in doing business and become partners of the Surabaya City Government; b) street vendors fostered by the Surabaya City Government have experienced increased welfare financially and socially. Surabaya City Government has made various efforts to foster street vendors to create a clean, orderly, beautiful, and safe Surabaya city.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The rapid development of the asphalt industry forces asphalt industry companies to continuously develop and innovate. Companies that are able to develop and innovate will certainly always increase their advantage in competition in the industrial world. This can be achieved if the company has a quality product. In improving product quality, there are potential hazards in the workplace such as incidents. This study aims to identify the prediction of incident events in the production area of drum fabrication, filling points, and distribution of PT X in the gresik bitument plant environment in 2023. This research is a cross-sectional research based on the time of study. The completion time of this research is 3 months. Data analysis techniques in this study start from hazard identification, potential hazard assessment, and hazard control. In the production process of making ready drums to the asphalt loading process in drums in the distribution there is a near miss that can cause incidents in every production machine. The most incidents are the occurrence of being scratched by sheets, stuck to pinched in the distribution load area for workers. In addition, there is also a high engine sound that causes noise and chemical factors in painting booth machines and filling in drums can cause interference with the respiratory system in the long run. There is a prediction of the occurrence of incidents in every production machine. The most incidents are the occurrence of sheet scratches on workers, mired in sandwiches between drums in the distribution loading area for workers. It is necessary to improve the implementation of the Risk Control Hierarchy, starting from Elimination, Substitution, Design/Modification, Administration and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Keywords: Hazard, Risk, Incident, Control     ABSTRAK Pesatnya perkembangan industry aspal memaksa perusahaan industry aspal untuk terus menerus dalam berkembang dan berinovasi. Perusahaan yang mampu berkembang dan berinovasi tentunya akan senantiasa meningkatkan keunggulan dalam persaingan di dunia industri. Hal ini dapat dicapai apabila perusahaan memiliki produk yang berkualitas. Dalam meningkatkan kualitas produk terdapat potensi bahaya di tempat kerja seperti kejadian incident. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi prediksi kejadian incident pada area produksi fabrikasi drum, filling point, dan distribusi  PT X di lingkungan bitument plant gresik tahun 2023. Penelitian ini bersifat cross sectional dilihat berdasarkan waktu penelitian. Waktu penyelesaian penelitian ini 3 bulan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini dimulai dari identifikasi bahaya, penilaian potensi bahaya, dan pengendalian bahaya. Pada proses produksi pembuatan ready drum hingga proses muat aspal in drum di distribusi terdapat near miss yang mampu mengakibatkan incident di setiap mesin produksi. Incident terbanyak yaitu kejadian tergores oleh sheet, kejeglong hingga terjepit di area muat distribusi pada pekerja. Selain itu juga terdapat suara mesin yang tinggi hingga menyebabkan kebisingan dan faktor kimia pada mesin painting booth dan filling in drum dapat mengakibatkan gangguan pada system pernafasan dalam jangka panjang. terdapat prediksi terjadinya incident di setiap mesin produksi. Incident terbanyak yaitu kejadian tergores sheet pada pekerja, terperosok hingga terjepit pada sela sela drum di area muat distribusi pada pekerja. Perlunya ditingkatkan penerapan Hierarki Pengendalian Risiko yaitu mulai dari Eliminasi, Substitusi, Perancangan/Modifikasi, Administrasi dan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD). Kata Kunci: Bahaya, Risiko, Incident, Pengendalian.
