Abstract

This study aims to enhance the engagement and academic performance of fourth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Kemiri in the subject of perimeter and area of flat shapes in Mathematics using the Problem Based Learning approach. The findings revealed an increase in students' engagement levels. In the pre-cycle stage, only 37% of students were actively engaged, which rose to 50% in the first cycle's first meeting and 58% in the second meeting, resulting in an average engagement level of 52% in the first cycle. In the second cycle, the engagement levels further improved, with the first meeting reaching 79% and the second meeting reaching 91%, resulting in an average engagement level of 85% in the very active category. Additionally, student academic performance also saw improvement. The percentage of students achieving learning completeness increased from 68% in the pre-cycle stage to 80% in cycle I, a 12% increase, and further to 100% in cycle II, demonstrating significant improvement in the very good category. In conclusion, the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model in teaching Mathematics related to perimeter and area of flat shapes has shown to enhance both student engagement and academic performance in the fourth grade at SD Muhammadiyah Kemiri.

Abstract

Pembelajaran pada masa pandemi Covid-19 mengalami berbagai tantangan, salah satunya yaitu terbatasnya siswa dalam mengakses materi pembelajaran. Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi menjadi alternatif solusi terhadap permasalahan pembelajaran termasuk bahasa Jawa. Pengembangan modul eletronik berbasis flipbook perlu dilakukan untuk mendukung kualitas pembelajaran, salah satunya pada materi ungguh-ungguh bahasa Jawa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji kevalidan dan keterbacaan produk e-modul berbasis flipbook pada materi unggah-ungguh bahasa Jawa di SMP Kabupaten Purworejo. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengacu pada langkah pengembangan 4-D meliputi Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa   pengembangan  e-modul berbasis flipbook pada materi unggah-ungguh siswa SMP, dianalisis dari validasi teori serta validasi empiris e-modul berbasis flipbook termasuk kategori valid dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Learning mathematics is still considered a difficult thing for students. Therefore, the activity and learning outcomes of mathematics are still not optimal. Proper, interesting and fun learning needs to be done to obtain maximum learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to increase the activeness and learning outcomes of mathematics through the STAD learning model. The type of research is classroom action research. Methods of collecting data by observation, interviews, and tests. The results showed that the activeness of learning the material of flat shapes has increased. The average learning activity in the first cycle was 73.26% with the moderately active category, in the second cycle it increased to 87.85% with the active category. The increase in student activity from cycle I to cycle II was 14.58%. The average student learning outcomes in the first cycle was 73, then in the second cycle increased to 85.6. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the STAD learning model can increase the activity and learning outcomes of mathematics in the fourth grade elementary school flat-building material.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine the form of implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in instilling character values ​​in grade IV students of SDN Roworejo, 2) To determine the character values ​​of students through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in grade IV students of SDN Roworejo, 3) To determine the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in grade IV students of SDN Roworejo. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The subjects of this study were grade IV teachers and grade IV students consisting of 14 students. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity used president observation, source triangulation, method triangulation, and peer discussion. Data analysis used data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of this study are 1) The form of P5 activities is mutual cooperation and creativity with the theme of local wisdom in making jumputan batik. 2) Students are directly involved in making jumputan batik. Through the project of making jumputan batik, researchers observed character values ​​in students such as mutual cooperation and creativity. 3) Supporting factors for the implementation of P5 include adequate facilities, support from schools, teachers and students, and enthusiasm from students. While the inhibiting factors for the implementation of P5 include challenges in the form of a lack of basic batik skills from teachers and requiring a long time.

Abstract

Education is a deliberate process designed to create a learning environment that facilitates students’ development. This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students in science learning and the factors that influence them. Critical thinking skills are the ability to think using HOTS to analyze, interpret, evaluate, summarize, and combine various information to solve a problem wisely. Science is a scientific study that discusses living things and their interactions with the environment and the universe. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were seven students of Sawunggaling Public Elementary School. Data collection techniques in this study used test, observation, interview, and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques in this study used data analysis according to Milles and Huberman. The results showed that the subjects wo were fifth grade students at Sawunggaling Public Elementary School were able to demonstrate critical thinking skills in the good category. Critical thinking skills in the very good category were achieved by subjects S1, S2, S3, S6, and S7. Critical thinking skills in the good category were achieved by subjects S5. Critical thinking skills in the sufficient category were achieved by subjects S4. Students’ critical thinking abilities are influenced by several factors such as internal and external factors.
