Abstract

Abstract

Community perspectives are important for wildlife, as they impact their contribution to wildlife conservation. This study aims to analyze community perspectives on wildlife in the Talang Ponijan and Sidodadi I forest farmer groups, Lampung Province, Indonesia. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, involved observation, and documentation studies. The data collected was analyzed descriptively to illustrate how the community's perspective on the existence of wildlife. The results showed that there are similarities in the views of the Talang Ponijan and Sidodadi I communities towards the existence of wildlife. The people of Talang Ponijan and Sidodadi I have a negative view of the existence of wild boar (Sus scrofa), bear (Helarctos malayanus), bajing (Callosciurus notatus), tiger (Panthera tigris), monkey (Macaca fascicularis), and macaque (Macaca nemestrina). Negative views arise because they are considered crop pests and destroy gardens. They are also considered a nuisance and a threat to safety. Gibbon (Symphalangus syndactylus), bats (Chiroptera sp.), and birds have a positive impact as they act as seed dispersers, pest controllers, and coffee quality indicators. However, their behavior towards wildlife sustainability shows differences. Some people in Talang Ponijan are still involved in practices that harm wildlife, such as monoculture, poaching and land clearing. Meanwhile, the Sidodadi I community tends to prioritize wildlife-sustainable agricultural practices such as shade coffee systems and planting high canopy trees. The government needs to provide guidance to increase community capacity and strict and effective law enforcement is important to prevent illegal activities.

Abstract

Ideally physical education teachers have three main competencies in supporting student development. First, the ability to develop movement activities that aim to facilitate physical activity and maintain the health of students through an educational approach. Second, skills in developing non-academic achievements according to the talents and interests of students, both inside and outside the school environment. Third, the ability to develop and optimize the potential for student achievement in sports. Opportunities for students who have talent and ability in sports are increasingly open with the existence of various championship events at the regional and national levels. However, these opportunities are often not balanced with an increase in the coaching science competencies possessed by physical education teachers. Community service method uses the lecture method, mentoring, and measurement of results. Results of this community service explain that teachers are aware of the importance of developing a structured and effective training program, but they face obstacles such as limited sports facilities in schools and minimal knowledge of sports psychology. In addition, they also pay less attention to continuous evaluation in training and tend to use conventional training techniques. Therefore, this community service emphasizes the importance of advanced training to update their knowledge, as well as the need for a more flexible training approach that is tailored to the needs of individual students.

Abstract

Active involvement of students in physical education is essential for their health, movement activities, and social and cognitive development. However, in the next few years, physical education is predicted to face challenges, especially in encouraging physical activity amidst the rapid advancement of technology that attracts students' attention. Independent Curriculum seeks to provide teachers with the freedom to innovate and adjust learning methods according to student characteristics. One of the relevant tools to achieve this goal is the Student Worksheet, which can be developed with a psychomotor design based on physical literacy. Methods used in this service are the lecture method, mentoring, and measurement of results. Results of this service emphasize the importance of compiling LKPD that not only focuses on basic movement skills such as balance and coordination, but also encourages students' reflection on their physical experiences. Practice session allows participants to design LKPD with the guidance of a facilitator, although some still face challenges in determining measurable physical literacy indicators. Discussion and practice help teachers understand the importance of holistic measurement in psychomotor learning. Reflections at the end of the session showed that teachers gained new insights into the benefits of physical literacy integration, which is expected to improve the quality of teaching and create an inclusive learning environment that supports students' comprehensive development.

Abstract

Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes the importance of the role of teachers as facilitators who are able to manage teaching modules to maximize student potential. In this context, training for teachers, especially physical education teachers, is needed so that they can design relevant and effective modules, while also overcoming challenges in their implementation. Methods used in this service are the lecture method, mentoring, and measurement of results. Results of this service show that this training has an important role in improving the competence of PJOK teachers in implementing the independent curriculum effectively. Through the presentation of basic principles, introduction of important components of teaching modules, and direct practice through group discussions and presentations, teachers gain a deeper understanding of the flexibility and application of the independent curriculum in learning. This training not only helps teachers understand the technical aspects of compiling teaching modules, but also encourages collaboration and sharing of experiences between participants, which contributes to increasing creativity and adaptation of learning methods.

Abstract

Physical fitness is essential in volleyball as it directly contributes to an athlete’s performance, especially during the training to win phase which demands peak competitive condition. This study aims to assess the physical fitness quality of volleyball athletes in Malang City as a basis for evaluating training programs. The study employed a descriptive quantitative survey design involving 33 selected athletes (13 males and 20 females). The physical fitness tests included push-ups, sit-ups, vertical jumps, and the beep test. Results showed the average scores were 31.25 for push-ups (SD = 11.37), 47.2 for sit-ups (SD = 6.13), 14.54 cm for vertical jumps (SD = 5.74), and 36.02 for the beep test (SD = 5.87). These findings indicate that the athletes' overall physical fitness falls within a moderate category, with noticeable performance gaps, particularly in upper-body strength and cardiovascular endurance. The results highlight the need for more targeted and structured physical conditioning programs. This study can serve as a reference for designing future training regimens and as a foundation for long-term physical development in volleyball athletes in Malang City.
