Abstract

This community service program, titled “Simple English Learning for Rural Elementary Students: A Community Service in Subur Village,” was conducted to support early English education among elementary school children in rural areas with limited access to language learning resources. Through interactive methods such as games, songs, storytelling, vocabulary posters, and hands-on projects, the program aimed to enhance students’ engagement, motivation, and basic English skills. The program also included Qur’an reading sessions and basic literacy support to strengthen the children’s overall educational foundation. The results showed a positive response from the students, who were enthusiastic and actively involved throughout the activities. The integration of microteaching and artefact creation further enriched both student learning and the teaching experience of the facilitators. This initiative proves that simple, joyful, and culturally responsive approaches can significantly improve language learning outcomes for rural students and foster essential competencies for their future development.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of education and classroom management at IRA Private Junior High School in Medan based on observations made during the first teaching practice (PPL I). The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through non-participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of learning tools and activities that take place in the classroom. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of learning is in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, which is characterized by the preparation of learning tools such as Annual Programs, Semester Programs, and teaching modules, as well as the use of interactive methods such as group discussions, presentations, and exercises based on Student Worksheets. Classroom management was also carried out well, as demonstrated by flexible seating arrangements, efficient time management, enforcement of classroom rules, and positive interactions between teachers and students. However, there were several challenges, such as limited use of digital media, short learning time, large number of students in one class, and inconsistent implementation of formative assessment. Overall, teaching practices and classroom management at IRA Private Junior High School in Medan are quite good and support the creation of an ideal learning environment, but there is still room for improvement in terms of learning differentiation, the use of interactive media, and strengthening the evaluation of the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the implementation of Government Accounting Standards (SAP) and the clarity of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) on the Government Internal Control System (SPIP) as a mediating variable. This study confirms that the implementation of SAP and the clarity of APBD together contribute to improving the quality of SPIP, and in the long term have a positive impact on the quality of LAKIP. Local governments that want to improve performance accountability must pay attention to the consistent application of SAP, prepare the APBD with measurable performance indicators, and strengthen the SPIP so that all processes can run with adequate internal supervision. Thus, the quality of LAKIP can continue to be improved as a form of transparency and public accountability. This study uses a quantitative approach with primary data obtained through a questionnaire using a 1–5 Likert scale. The research respondents consisted of local government officials involved in financial reporting, budget planning, internal supervision, and LAKIP preparation. Data processing was performed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS software.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Microplastics are plastics formed from large pieces of plastic that are then exposed to technical, thermal, and biological factors, causing them to breakdown into very small particles. Microplastic pollution in freshwater ecosystems had become an increasingly worrying environmental issue because it could disrupt aquatic biota, ecosystem stability, and human health. This research was a quantitative descriptive study that aimed to analyze the abundance of microplastics in the Bengawan Solo River in the Pucangsawit sub-district, Surakarta City. The research was conducted using purposive sampling at 10 stations with a total of 10 liters of water filtered using a 200 µm mesh, then decomposed using 30% H₂O₂ and identified using a binocular microscope. The results of the study found 199 microplastic particles with an abundance of 19.9 particles/L. The highest abundance being 43 particles/L and the lowest abundance was 7 particles/L. The types of microplastics were dominated by fibers, while microplastics in the form of fragments, films, pellets, and foam were also observed. Thus, it could be concluded that the Bengawan Solo River, particularly in the Pucangsawit Village area of Surakarta City, has been polluted by microplastics. Keywords : Microplastic, River, Abundance, Bengawan Solo.  ABSTRAK Mikroplastik merupakan plastik yang terbentuk dari plastik berukuran besar yang kemudian terpapar oleh faktor teknis, termal dan biologis sehingga dapat terurai menjadi partikel-partikel yang sangat kecil. Abstract

Diarrhea was a serious health problem for all age groups, especially among school-aged children. The Ministry of Health reported in 2025 that diarrhea ranked second among diseases with the highest potential for outbreaks in Indonesia, with 2,046,806 cases recorded as of mid-2025. The number of diarrhea cases in Surakarta increased from 7,209 cases in 2023 to 11,434 cases in 2024. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between student knowledge and personal hygiene behavior, as well as the incidence of diarrhea, among students of SMP Negeri Surakarta. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach and a proportional sampling technique, involving 184 respondents from grades VII, VIII, and IX. Data analysis was conducted using both univariate and bivariate analyses, including the Chi-Square test. The results indicated a significant relationship between student knowledge (p-value = 0.000) and personal hygiene behavior (p-value = 0.000) with the incidence of diarrhea among students of SMP Negeri Surakarta. This study concluded that personal hygiene knowledge and behavior had a significant impact on the incidence of diarrheal diseases. However, other factors also contributed to the spread of diarrheal diseases, including environmental sanitation, water hygiene, and disease transmission through canteen handlers. From this matter, it is expected that the school also plays an active role in continuous disease prevention efforts, both through theoretical education and practical implementation, as well as by improving supporting facilities to provide a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for students.

Abstract

The Integration of Primary Health Care (ILP) requires posyandu cadres to be competent in delivering life-course–based health services. In Tawang Village, Weru Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency, none of the posyandu cadres had received ILP training, so no posyandu in the village was able to operate ILP-standard services. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and basic skills of Tawang Village posyandu cadres so that they are prepared to deliver ILP-standard posyandu services. The program involved 37 cadres from five posyandu and was carried out in three stages: ILP education, mentoring of ILP service practice using the five-table system, and evaluation of cadre knowledge and basic skills. The cadres' knowledge was already good before the activity (median 92) and became higher and more uniform afterwards (median 96), with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.013). Skill mapping showed that 37.9 percent of cadres reached the “utama” (advanced) category, 29.7 percent “madya” (intermediate), and 32.4 percent “purwa” (novice), revealing skill gaps between posyandu. As an impact, the activity produced a cadre competency map that enables the village midwife and Weru Public Health Center to provide targeted mentoring so that all five posyandu in Tawang Village can meet ILP service standards. Tiered mentoring is recommended, prioritising posyandu with a high proportion of basic-level cadres.

Abstract

The management of food waste in Indonesia is a significant challenge, with food waste accounting for 39,17% of the total 36 million tons of annual waste in 2024. In Sukoharjo, food waste reaches 40.71%, far exceeding the national average, yet early surveys in Wirogunan Village showed only 12.5% of housewives had the initiative to manage it. This quantitative study with a pre-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design aims to analyze the increase in housewives' knowledge regarding food waste management through a pocketbook intervention. The population consisted of 1,617 housewives, with a sample of 55 respondents selected via simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed a significant increase in the average knowledge score from 85.56 at pre-test to 98.40 at post-test. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant influence of the pocketbook intervention on knowledge levels. The pocketbook, which is validated and HKI-certified, proved to be an effective educational tool due to its practical design and clear visual content. These findings suggest that structured media interventions can effectively improve domestic waste management literacy to support regional environmental policies.
