Abstract

This study explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English Language Teaching (ELT) and its impact on enhancing students"™ digital skills, specifically within the context of digital literacy. Utilizing a questionnaire and interviews with students, the research examines perceptions regarding the necessity and relevance of AI in digital literacy learning. Findings indicate that a significant majority of students recognize the benefits of AI, including improved digital literacy, increased confidence in understanding technology, enhanced critical thinking skills, and greater creativity. Specifically, 64% of respondents reported that AI usage helps them improve their digital literacy skills, while 60% expressed heightened confidence in navigating digital technologies. However, challenges remain, with many students noting difficulties in adjusting to AI tools, emphasizing the need for adequate support and training. The results align with existing literature that highlights the potential of AI to personalize learning experiences and foster critical analysis among students. Despite the positive feedback, it is crucial to address the challenges associated with AI integration to ensure that all students can fully benefit from these advancements. Recommendations for educators include developing comprehensive training programs, providing ongoing support, and fostering a learning environment that encourages exploration of AI technologies. Overall, this study underscores the transformative potential of AI in ELT, offering insights into its role in preparing students for the demands of the digital age while highlighting the importance of supportive frameworks for effective implementation.

Abstract

Human resources cannot be separated from training activities in an organization or company. Human resource training is required for all organizations and institutions because almost everyone recognizes that the success of an organization or company is heavily reliant on the human resources that manage it. Employees require training in order to improve their abilities, knowledge skills, motivation, and behavior. Human resource training is critical in today's modern era of development because employees' formal education is insufficient to meet the demands of jobs and positions in organizations and companies. Furthermore, putting human resources on the job does not guarantee that they will understand their roles and responsibilities. New human resources frequently feel insecure and unsure of their roles and responsibilities in the organization or company where they work. As a result, new employees should receive training that includes an introduction to corporate culture and values, regulations, and policies, as well as their primary tasks that support the achievement of the organization's or company's vision and mission. Human resources who lack self-confidence are less likely to fulfill their duties and obligations fully, particularly in educational institutions. Furthermore, human resources professionals who have long worked in organizations and companies require training to improve their skills, insight, and motivation in assisting the organization's vision and mission.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and strengthen students’ nationalistic awareness through a literature learning model that integrates Indonesian national songs—Indonesia Pusaka, Syukur, Gugur Bunga, and Sepasang Mata Bola—using Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL). The focus is on embedding values of patriotism and love of the nation while enhancing language learning in a digital learning environment. The research employs a quantitative design with a simple experimental approach. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test to measure students’ level of nationalistic understanding and language comprehension before and after the implementation of the model. The participants consisted of undergraduate students in an English education program who were introduced to the lyrical and cultural dimensions of the songs via mobile learning applications. Findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ comprehension and appreciation of the patriotic values embedded in the selected songs. The post-test results demonstrated higher scores compared to the pre-test, showing that students not only acquired better linguistic understanding but also developed a deeper sense of national pride and identity. The use of MALL provided flexibility, accessibility, and interactive engagement, making literature learning more effective and appealing to digital-native students.

Abstract

This research explores the psychological transformation of Louis Creed, the protagonist in Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, through the lens of the Dual Process Model of Coping with Bereavement developed by Stroebe and Schut (1999). The study aims to analyze how grief and loss shape Louis’s character, behavior, and moral decisions throughout the novel. By examining his response to the death of his son and his subsequent descent into denial and irrationality, this research reveals a failure to oscillate between the two critical coping mechanisms proposed in the model: loss-oriented and restoration-oriented coping. The analysis demonstrates that Louis becomes trapped in grief and unable to adapt to life after loss, ultimately leading to psychological collapse and catastrophic outcomes. Supporting evidence is drawn from key scenes and direct quotations from the novel. This study not only contributes to literary character analysis but also highlights the relevance of psychological frameworks in understanding human responses to trauma and bereavement

Abstract

This research explored the impact of Video-Based Learning (VBL) and Web-Based Learning (WBL) on enhancing the understanding of conditional sentences (Types 1, 2, and 3) among Grade 10 students at SMA UNKLAB Airmadidi. Employing a quasi-experimental design, 60 students were assigned to two groups: one received instruction via VBL, while the other was taught using WBL. Pre-test and post-test results were examined using IBM SPSS Version 26, with both paired-sample and independent-sample t-tests applied. The paired-sample t-test indicated notable improvement in both groups. The average score for the VBL group rose from 33.60 to 77.87, and for the WBL group from 33.20 to 59.73. The independent-sample t-test yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001, signifying a statistically significant difference between the groups. While both approaches were effective, VBL demonstrated a more substantial effect on students' grammar proficiency. Additionally, analysis showed no significant difference in performance based on gender, suggesting that both teaching methods were equally effective for male and female students. Overall, the findings underscore the advantages of incorporating digital media in grammar instruction, with VBL particularly enhancing student engagement and understanding of complex grammar topics. This study affirms the value of multimedia in English teaching and highlights the potential of visual and interactive content to boost learner motivation and success.

Abstract

The Minahasan community of North Sulawesi, Indonesia has witnessed a significant shift in women's roles and empowerment in recent years. This study examined the economic and social/political empowerment of Minahasan women, including their participation in income-generating activities, entrepreneurship, community leadership, and advocacy for rights and representation. However, this empowerment has also brought about challenges as Minahasan women grapple with the double burden of balancing their newly acquired roles with traditional domestic responsibilities of childcare and household duties. Through a comprehensive library research approach, this study analyzed the tensions and role conflicts experienced by Minahasan women as they navigated the contrasting societal expectations. Key findings revealed the strain on family dynamics, potential neglect of children's upbringing, and marital relationship challenges arising from the double burden. The study also identified strategies and best practices for reconciling these contrasting roles, such as promoting equitable domestic workload sharing, establishing childcare support systems, advocating for flexible work arrangements, and fostering societal attitude changes towards gender norms. Ultimately, this research highlights the importance of addressing the double burden challenges faced by Minahasan women to ensure their empowerment is sustainable and does not come at the cost of sacrificing traditional caregiving responsibilities or family well-being.
