Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning Model using video on students? learning outcomes on the material of environmental pollution. It was an experimental study on seventh-grade students of SMAN 8 Pontianak. The research was conducted in the form of a Quasi-Experimental Design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample was selected using an intact group technique, of which class VII D engaged in the experimental group and VII B in the control group. The instrument applied for collecting the data was in the form of 20 items of the multiple-choice test. Based on the analysis, the experimental group instructed using the applied learning model resulted in higher mean scores by 16.04 than the control group by 13.54. The result of the U Mann-Whitney test shows Zcount is smaller than -Ztable (-2.66 < -1.96). It shows that there is a difference between the learning outcomes of students taught using the selected learning model and those taught using a conventional way. The effect size on a high category by 0.80 shows that the problem-based learning model using video affects the students? learning outcomes by 28.81%. Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to develop module and to know students’ response to module submaterial plant role in economy with addition making of bread containing papaya. This research  used Research and Development (R & D) method, consisting of six out of ten stages, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation,  design revision  and limited trials. The modul was evaluated by five validators consisting of two biology lecturers and three teachers from secondary high schools. The student’s response to module submaterial plant role in economy used a response questionnaire with ten statements. Result of validation showed 0.96 of CVI value and categorized valid. Obtained  85.1% and categorized very high. Therefore, the module sub material plant role in economy can be used in learning process.  Keywords : Bread containing papaya, module, R&D method, responses.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to determine the feasibility of media flash cards. Medicinal plants used by  the Dayak community of Bakati  as specially in Sebente Village, Teriak Sub-district, Bengkayang Regency and  to up flash cards of learning media as an implementation of ethnobotany research. The feasibility of flash cards on evaluated as learning media in the submaterial of biodiversity in Senior High School Class X. The method used in this qualitative research was descriptive method by using purposive sampling technique sampling. Then the result information of this research was implemented as flash cards media. It was evaluated by two lecturers of Biology Education Program, FKIP, Tanjungpura University and three Biology teachers of Senior High School class X in their schools in the Bengkayang Regency. Based on validation test, flash cards was categorized valid with the score average was CVI 0,99  and it was suitable as learning media in submaterial of biodiversity. Keywords: Biodiversity, Media, Flash Cards, Feasibility

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to know the feasibility of booklet media on biodiversity material in class X SMA Sengah Temila Subdistrict. Sengah Temila Subdistrict was one of the subdistricts located in Landak District of West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. Maked this booklet media aimed to facilitate the learning process and facilitate learners in find examples of plants and facilitate in recognizing the useful plants that are in the environment. This booklet contains useful plants in Paloan Village, Sengah Temila Subdistrict, Landak District. The research was a qualitative descriptive method and the technique of data collection, such as observation, and documentation. Testing of the validity / feasibility of booklet media was done by two lecturers of Biology Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Tanjungpura University, one of biology teacher at SMAN 1 Sengah Temila, one biology teacher at SMA Berkat Bagi Bangsa and one of biology teacher of SMA Harapan Pahuman. The booklet media validation is analyzed based on three aspects was a format, language, and content are valid with an average total validation of 0.99 on the Biodiversity material. Keywords : booklet, biodiversity, Sengah Temila Subdistrict

Abstract

Produksi nanas kabupaten Kuburaya menempati posisi tertinggi dibandingkan buah lainnya, sehingga diperlukan upaya pengolahan menjadi produk olahan yang beragam yang memilki nilai ekonomi dan meningkatkan daya simpan. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada ibu penggerak kesejahteraan keluarga (PKK) di desa Madu sari Kabupaten Kuburaya terhadap pembuatan produk olahan pangan berbahan baku nanas. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Setelah kegiatan pelatihan diberikan angket kepada 25 orang ibu PKK. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh respon terhadap pelatihan dengan kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 64%, sedangkan kategori tinggi sebesar 36%. Ketertarikan ibu ibu PKK dalam mengikuti pelatihan sebesar 91%, sedangkan pelatihan menambah wawasan ibu ibu PKK sebesar 86%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan pelatihan pengolahan pangan lokal berbahan baku nanas memperoleh respon positif dari ibu PKK desa Madu Sari Kabupaten Kuburaya.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the feasibility of media booklets on sub-material biodiversity in class X Senior High School in Kapuas Hulu. The present qualitative study employs descriptive method. The data collected on the booklet validation sheet is qualitative data. Each statement item is divided into categories Very Good is worth 4, Good is worth 3, Less Good is worth 2, and Not Good is worth 1. Since the data is in qualitative form, then to calculate it needs to be converted into a quantitative form using the Lawshe formula. Validation results from the validator can be analyzed using Content Validity Ratio (CVR) analysis. The booklet was validated its feasibility by two lecturer of Biology education program, Faculty of Education Untan and three Biology teacher of tenth grade students from three different school in Kapuas Hulu. According to the validator, the booklet is categorized as valid with validation average score 0,99 and it is worth to be implemented as instructional media on biodiversity utilization sub material. Keywords: Biodiversity, booklet, Kapuas Hulu

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the feasibility of laboratory work guidance for making pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) candy on the subchapter of the role of plants in economic class X high school. The research was conducted by using descriptive method  with validation conducted by 2 lecturers from biology education and 3 biology teachers from senior high school. The validation devided into two steps, the first step was validation intrument of laboratory work guidance and the second step was validation media laboratory work guidance. Based on validation result of laboratory work guidance, there was 15 criteria with CVR value equal to 0.99 in accordance with minimum CVR value of Lawshe for 5 validator was 0.99, so the laboratory work guidance was feasible and can be implemented as a learning media to guide the laboratory work of making pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to identify the effect of cooperative learning type index card match toward students learning outcomes. The research focused on the material about virus for tenth grade science major. The research applied quasi-experimental method with non-equivalent control group design. Sample in this research was taken through intact group technique, where tenth grade of science 1 as the experimental class and tenth grade of science 2 as the control class. The instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions. The average value of students outcomes at the experimental class was 16.13. Meanwhile, the average for control class was 14.43. Using U Mann-Whitney test, the research obtained -Zcount< -Ztable there was -2.21< -1.96. This value means that there is a significant difference of learning outcomes between students who use cooperative learning type index card match and those who study conventionally. The value of effect size obtained in this research was 0.56 which could be classified medium. It shows us that cooperative learning of type index card match has an effect as much as 21.23% towards students outcomes, especially in the material of virus tenth grade science student. Keywords: Cooperative Learning type index card match, learning outcomes, virus

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to determine the feasibility of poster media for the laboratory work of making banana muffins in submaterial of the plant role in economy and to know students responses to poster media. This research was uses  research and development (R&D) method consisting of six out from ten stages, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision and limited product trials. Poster media  were validated by two lecturers from biology education and three biology teachers from senior high school. The validation divided was conducted into two steps. The first step was validation of poster media instrument and the second step was poster media validation. The students response to the poster media was used a questionnaire and categories according to Likert. Based on validation results of the poster media using twelve criteria, the score was 0.99 of CVI value, and categories valid. Therefore the poster media for submaterial plant role in economy was feasible tobe use in learning proccess. Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to know feasibility and students’ response to contextual student worksheet for laboratory work of making banana cookies on submaterial plant role in economy. The type of research was type of research and development (R&D), which consisted of six stages namely potential and problems, data collection, design production, validation of design, revision of design, and limited product trial. Data collection was done by literature review and implemented organoleptic test on three types of banana cookies. Contextual student worksheets contained submaterial plant role in economy with the example of banana cookies recipe. The banana recipe was made from 40 hari banana selected from significant parameter of organoleptic test. To know feasibility of contextual student worksheet, then validation was done by two lecturers of Biology Education FKIP Untan and three biology teachers of class X senior high school. Aspects of feasibility measured in validation were content, linguistic, display, graphic, and contextual. Result of validation showed 0.99 of CVI value and categorized valid, so it was veasible to use learning material. The results of this study also showed students' responses to contextual student worksheets was as much as 85.74% with very high categories. Keyword: Banana Cookies, Contextual Student Worksheet, Feasibility, Research and Development Method, and Responses.Â
