Abstract

Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) mencatat bahwa literasi sains peserta didik di Indonesia masih belum mencapai tingkat yang memadai. Padahal, literasi sains merupakan kemampuan penting yang perlu dimiliki oleh setiap individu dalam menghadapi perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, serta arus informasi yang semakin kompleks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sejauh mana literasi sains peserta didik kelas X di SMA Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya serta faktor-faktor yang turut mempengaruhinya. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 229 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri atas soal literasi sains berdasarkan indikator PISA dan angket faktor yang mempengaruhi, yang telah divalidasi oleh tujuh orang ahli. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menunjukkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya yaitu kompetensi menjelaskan fenomena ilmiah sebesar 56,16%, merancang dan mengevaluasi penyelidikan ilmiah sebesar 56,68%, serta menafsirkan data dan bukti ilmiah sebesar 67,60%. Rata-rata keseluruhan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik kelas X di SMA Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya memperoleh persentase 60% dengan kategori cukup. Faktor internal dari peserta didik mencapai 71,77%, sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi peran guru 73,43% dan dukungan sekolah 79,26%. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, diperlukan upaya berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik agar mencapai kategori yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Information regarding the evaluation of reasoning skills related to online socio-scientific issues is still limited due to limited instruments. This research aims to determine the validity and reliability of an online socio-scientific issue-based critical reasoning instrument. Content validity was proven by the assessment method by five experts. Confirmatory factor analysis was carried out with the Lisrel 8.8 program to prove construct validity. Instrument testing was carried out on 145 grade 10 high school students. Convergent validity was determined through the Average Variance Extracted (AVE) calculation, and reliability was determined through Construct Reliability (CR). There are 12 items from four dimensions of critical reasoning based on online socio-scientific issues: (1) evaluating SSI information, (2) identifying SSI complexity, (3) checking the credibility of information sources, and (4) multiperspective. The results of the content validity test obtained the Aiken coefficient value in the valid category. Based on the analysis results, the GFI, RMSEA, and p-value of the instrument fit the model and have loading factors that meet the minimum criteria. In addition, the instrument meets convergent validity and internal consistency. Thus, it is concluded that the instrument is declared valid and reliable and can be used to measure critical reasoning based on online socio-scientific issues.

Abstract

The development of contextual, engaging, and technologically advanced learning media is essential to support the learning process. One innovation that can be implemented is the development of an e-magazine based on the ethnobotany of medicinal plants for hypertension. It is believed that an e-magazine featuring local potential expands students' understanding of biodiversity in their surroundings. An e-magazine is a digital learning medium packaged in an attractive, interactive, and easily accessible electronic magazine format via technological devices. The e-magazine medium enables students to learn independently at their own pace and according to their individual abilities. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of an e-magazine on the biodiversity of Indonesia for 10th-grade high school students, focusing on the local potential of Karangan Village, Landak Regency, and featuring ethnobotanical knowledge about the use of medicinal plants for hypertension. The method used was quantitative descriptive with several stages, namely the compilation of the e-magazine, validation of the e-magazine, and analysis of the validation results. The validation process was conducted by five experts, comprising biology teachers and biology education lecturers, evaluating language, content, and graphic aspects using a validation form. The research results showed that the e-magazine achieved a Content Validity Ratio (CVR) of 1 and a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 1, indicating that the e-magazine is valid and suitable for use as an alternative learning medium for biology in 10th-grade high school.
