Abstract

This research was aimed to improve students' learning activities through cooperative learning model with outdoor learning method at viability organisms on IX A Junior Secondary School 01 Samalantan. Subjects in this study 33 students. The research instrument used is the observation sheet and field notes. Results showed that an increase in activity after the students are given cooperative learning model with outdoor learning method. Based on the analysis of data obtained the increased activity of the students at 72,73% after implementation cooperative learning model with outdoor learning method in two cycles of action. Keywords: Students’ activities, cooperative learning, outdoor learning method.

Abstract

21st century competency consists of communication, creativity, collaborative, and critical thinking skills (4Cs). This study aims to determine the profile of 21st century skills (4Cs) in prospective biology teachers. The research method used was survey research. Data collection tool in the form of a questionnaire. The stratified random sampling technique was used in sampling with the number of respondents 120 students of the biology education year 2018/2019. The results of the study show that the 21st century competence of prospective biology teachers is classified as moderate.

Abstract

Information literacy is one of literacy component in digital age. The puspose of this research was to know the ability of students information literacy in biology education students. This research was descriptive with 172 education biology students as the subject. Data were collected using questionnaires. Based on the result of data analysis students showed the tendency to formalate information necessity was 75,73%, finding and accessing information 66,13%, choosing and sorting information 77,68%, evaluating information as needed 69,87%, and following ethics related to access and using information source 83,86%. Thus it is necessary to improve the knowledge and skills of students in finding and accessing information to support the learning process and need to practice the ability to evaluate the information as needed

Abstract

In the learning process with the use of biodiversity, socio-cultural and environment one of them can grow the skills to know self awarness and social attitudes. Thus need to expand the effort to growthe life skills through the application of learning by making the local benefits or local potential as a learning reference. This study aims to determine the increase in life skills through learning the local benefits based on a prospective biology teachers with lesson study. The subjects were students of the 2nd semester in academic year 2015/2016 which follows the course of environmental knowledge. Overall the average increase of cycle 1 to cycle 2 on aspects of cooperation (working towards the achievement of objectives of the group amounted to 0,15), showing effective interpersonal skills of 0,15), the communication aspect (expressing the idea/ ideas clearly of 0,64), aspect of making a decision (identify) the alternative is important and appropriate for consideration of 0,05), the troubleshooting aspect (accurately identifying obstacles or barriers of 0,03); choose and try out an adequate alternative of 0,03) while aspects dig and find information (collecting information in a relevant way) decreased by 0,4. The application of learning to use local benefits have improved life skills both generic and specific.Key Word:      life skill, local benefits.

Abstract

ABSTRAKMahasiswa pendidikan Biologi tidak hanya harus memiliki kompetensi pedagogik namun juga kompetensi kepribadian, sehingga tidak hanya cakap dalam penguasaan materi pembelajaran, namun juga memiliki sikap ilmiah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur kelayakan modul pengetahuan lingkungan berbasis potensi lokal bermuatan studi kasus dalam membentuk sikap peduli lingkungan mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi. Modul tersebut divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Berdasarkan kriteria kevalidan, maka rata-rata total validasi dari ahli materi dan ahli media diperoleh sebesar 2,62 dan 2,63 yang termasuk dalam kategori valid. Modul kemudian diujicobakan pada enam mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi dan hasil angket kepedulian lingkungan menghasilkan skor rata-rata 74,28 yang termasuk dalam kategori baik.ABSTRACTBiology education students should not only have pedagogic competence but also personality, so that they are not only proficient in mastering learning material, but also has a scientific attitude. The purpose of this study was to measure the feasibility of environmental education module based on local potency in the form of case studies in developing biology education students’ environmental awareness. The module is validated by subject experts and media experts. Based on the criteria of validity, the average validation score were 2.62 from subject matter experts and 2.63 from media experts which were categorized as valid. The module then tested on six biology education students and environmental awareness questionnaire resulted in an average score of 74.28 which was categorized as good.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons siswa terhadap praktikum pembuatan permen nanas (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.). Implementasi metode praktikum memberikan contoh nyata penggunaan bahan tumbuhan untuk meningkatkan ekonomi. Pengukuran respons siswa terhadap praktikum pembuatan permen nanas menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dan pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen berupa angket respons serta penilaian sikap, keterampilan, dan pengetahuan siswa saat melakukan praktikum. Pernyataan pada angket repons siswa terdiri dari pernyataan positif dan negatif berjumlah 12 pernyataan. Hasil respons siswa terhadap praktikum pembuatan permen nanas pada submateri peran tumbuhan di bidang ekonomi memperoleh persentase rata-rata 83,33% dan termasuk kategori sangat tinggi. Respons didukung oleh nilai sikap siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 92,06 termasuk kategori sangat tinggi, sedangkan nilai keterampilan siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 88,27 dan termasuk kategori sangat tinggi. AbstractThis study aimed to determine the students’ responses toward the practicum formaking pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) candy. The Implementation ofpracticum method provide a real example of the used of plant ingredient to increase the economy. Measurement of students’ responses toward the practicum in making pineapple candy used a quantitative descriptive research and questionnaire for collecting the data and affective, psychomotoric, and cognitive assessment of students during practicum. The Statements on students’s response questionnaire consisted of positive and negative statements amounted to 12 statements. The result of students’ responses towoard the practicum in making pineapple candy on the submaterial of the role of the plant in the economic field obtained an average percentage of 83.33% and included “very high” category. This response was supported by the affective value of students with an average score of 92.06 including “very high” category,psychomotor rank with an average rating of 88.27 and including “very high”category and cognitive assessment reaches 100% with minimal comprehensivecriteria 78 which with an average of 87.05 which was also “very high”.

Abstract

AbstrakKemampuan dalam memecahkan masalah merupakan kemampuan yang sangatdiperlukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari atau dalam pekerjaan. Pembelajaran semestinya memberikan akses kepada peserta didik untuk memiliki pengalaman-pengalaman belajar yang memberikan kesempatan pada proses pemecahan masalah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan pemecahan masalah melalui pembelajaran berbasis potensi lokal pada calon guru Biologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas dengan 2 siklus. Masing- masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Alat pengumpul data berupa lembar observasi keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan rata-rata keterampilan pemecahan masalah dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2 sebesar 3,13. Peningkatan keterampilan pemecahan masalah pada kelima aspek, yaitu: aspek keterampilan mengevaluasi masalah sebesar 0,37; mengelola masalah 0,32; mengambil keputusan 1,00; pemecahan masalah 0,76; dan mengevaluasi kesimpulan 0,67. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran berbasis potensi lokal meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah pada calon guru Biologi. AbstractProblem solving ability is the fundamental’s ability that is indispensable in daily life or at work. Learning should give learners access to have learning experiences that provide an opportunity in problem solving processes. The aimed of this research was to determine problem solving skills through local potential based learning in biology teacher candidates. The research method was classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consists of three stages were planing, action, observation and reflection. The tool of data collection was of observation sheet. The result of this study showed that problem solving skill was increase in the 1st cycle to to 2nd cycle was 3.13. Improving problem solving skills on the five aspects of skills were: aspects of evaluating the problems of 0.37; managing problems 0,32; taking decision 1.00; problem solving 0.76; and evaluating conclusions 0.67. It can be concluded that local potential based learning can improve problem solving skills in biology teacher candidates.

Abstract

Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Siswa dibagi dalam kelompok kerja dan diberikan arahan dengan bantuan media leaflet. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 4Pontianak. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen angket dengan 12pernyataan menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkanrespons siswa tergolong sangat tinggi. AbstractThis study aimed to determine students' responses to the practicum of making ginger syrup by implementing practicum method in the sub-material of roles of the plant in the economic field. Students were divided into groups and were directed by using media leaflet. The subject of the research was the students of grade X of SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. The research method was descriptive quantitative. The data were collected by using questionnaire instrument with 12 statements with likert scale. The results showed students' responses were very high.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan video tutorial sebagai mediapembelajaran untuk membantu kegiatan pembuatan donat jahe (Zingiber officinale var. officinale) pada submateri peran tumbuhan di bidang ekonomi.Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantittatif. Instrumen validasi video tutorial oleh ahli media terdiri dari 8 aspek dan 15 kriteria, sedangkan validasi oleh ahli materi terdiri dari 3 aspek dan 10 kriteria. Kelayakan video tutorial pembuatan donat jahe divalidasi oleh 3 orang ahli materi dengan hasil validasi yaitu RTV TK sebesar 3,92 dan 3 orang ahli media dengan hasil validasi yaitu RTV TK sebesar 3,44 yang termasuk dalam kategori valid. Sehingga secara keseluruhan video tutorial pembuatan donat jahe layak untuk digunakan (LD) sebagai media untuk membantu pembelajaran dalam pembuatan donatjahe pada submateri peran tumbuhan di bidang ekonomi. AbstractThis research aimed to determine the feasibility of video tutorials as a learningmedium to assist the activities of making ginger donut (Zingi ber officinale varofficinale) in the sub-material roles of plants in the economic field. This researchused descriptive quantitative method. Validation instrument video tutorial by media experts consists of 8 aspects and 15 criteria, while validation by material experts consists of 3 aspects and 10 criteria. The eligibility of a video tutorial on making a ginger (Zingiber officinale var officinale) donut was validated by 3material experts with validation result of RTV TK was 3.92 and 3 media experts with validation result of RTV TK was 3.44 included in “valid” category. Overall,video tutorial making donut ginger was feasible to used (LD) as a learningmedium to consist of making ginger donut on sub-material of plant role in economic field.

Abstract

AbstrakBelajar biologi akan lebih mudah dan jelas jika objek yang sedang dipelajaridapat diamati secara langsung. Oleh karenanya diperlukan media pembelajaranuntuk membantu memperjelas pesan pembelajaran. Penelitian bertujuan untukmengetahui kelayakan film dokumenter pembuatan bingka pepaya submateri peran tumbuhan di bidang ekonomi berdasarkan penilaian validator. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan analisis data menggunakanperhitungan RTV TK. Validasi media film dokumenter dilakukan oleh ahli materi yang terdiri dari 2 orang guru dan 1 orang dosen dengan 10 kriteria penilaian serta ahli media yang terdiri dari 2 orang dosen dan 1 orang guru dengan 15 kriteria penilaian. Hasil validasi media film dokumenter menunjukkan bahwa RTVTK ahli materi sebesar 3,9 sedangkan RTV TK ahli media sebesar 3,3. Film dokumenter layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran submateri peranan tumbuhan di bidang ekonomi kelas X SMA karena penilaian mencapai nilai RTVTK minimum yaitu sebesar 3 ≤ RTV TK ≤ 4 dengan kategori valid.AbstractLearning biology will be easier and more clearly if the object being studied can be observed directly. Therefore, it is required learning media to help clarify learning messages. This research aimed to know the feasibility of documentary film of making papaya bingka on sub chapter role of plants in economicsaccording to validators’ decision. Feasibility testing of documentary film using quantitative descriptive research and data analysis with RTV TK calculation.Validation of documentary film was done by material experts consisting of 2 teachers and 1 lecturer with 10 assessment criteria and media expert consisting of 2 lecturers and 1 teacher with 15 assessment criteria. Validation resultof documentary film indicated that RTV TK of a material expert was 3.9 and RTVTK of media expert was 3.3 so that the documentary was valid to be used as a medium learning on sub chapter role of plant in economy because all value ranged 3 ≤ RTV TK ≤ 4 and categorized valid.
