Abstract

Education is all the knowledge learned throughout life in all places and situations that have a positive influence on the growth of each individual being that education takes place throughout life. The less than optimal learning outcomes of students are caused by the lack of student activity in the learning process, which is influenced by learning methods that are less interactive and effective. Biology learning materials that have not reached the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) are materials on the body's defense system. One of the innovations in Education is the use of the SSCS (Search, Solve, Create, Share) learning model. The method used is the Quasi Experimental Design method with a quantitative approach. The results of the study were the average Pretest in the experimental class, namely 50.31 after the SSCS (Search, Solve, Create, Share) learning model was applied, the Posttest value increased with an average value of 86.25. For the effectiveness value, the calculation results were 72.32 where 64.00 ≤ E ≤ 100% was declared effective. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the SSCS (Search, Solve, Create, Share) learning model can influence student learning outcomes and is effective for application in the learning process.

Abstract

Accountability for holding elections must be accountable for the implementation of their duties and authorities to the public, both politically and legally. Being politically responsible means that every element involved in holding elections has an obligation to explain to the public their functions and the reasons for the actions taken. Being legally responsible means that any party suspected of violating the law regarding the principles of democratic elections must submit to the law enforcement process based on the principle of the presumption of innocence and the principle of due process of law regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code. is that the holding of elections is carried out by independent institutions.

Abstract

Pityriasis versicolor is a disease caused by Malassezia furfur. One of the plants that can potentially act as antifungal is cacao leaves (Theobroma cacao L.), which contain several secondary metabolite compounds, including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, quinones, terpenoids, and saponins. This study aims to determine the phytochemical analysis and the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC) of cacao leaves ethanolic extract against M. furfur. Extracts were obtained by maceration using 70% ethanol and phytochemicals analysis using Herborne’s method. Furthermore, the extracts were made into concentrations’ variations of 3.125%; 6.25%; 12.5%; 25%; 50%; and 100% for testing antifungal activity, with 10% DMSO as negative control and 2% Ketoconazole and Itraconazole as positive controls. MIC was performed with liquid macrodilution method, and MFC was performed with spread method. The results of phytochemical analysis showed that the extract contained alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, quinones, terpenoids and saponins. MIC value was obtained at concentration of 50% and MFC value was obtained at 100%. Cacao leaves ethanolic extract with concentration of 50% can inhibit M. furfur’s growth and with 100% can eliminate M. furfur.

Abstract

Abstract. Schizophrenia is a chronic disease that requires relatively high treatment costs [1]. Several studies have found that atypical antipsychotics are more effective compared to typical antipsychotics. As a result, the duration of treatment and the patients’ length of hospital stay will be shorter which ultimately reduce the overall treatment costs. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) of the two classes of antipsychotic drugs in the treatment of schizophrenia inpatients admitted to Jambi Province Hospital period 2013-2016. Method: This descriptive retrospective cohort study was undertaken to analyze cost-effectiveness of the antipsychotic drugs provided to patients with schizophrenia (n=910) admitted to Jambi Province Hospital from the perspective of a healthcare provider. using purposive sampling technique. Characteristics of the patients, antipsychotic drugs usage, costs consumed, and treatment outcome were extracted from the hospital databases. Results: It was found that the total ACER value of the typical antipsychotic group was Rp. 142,789.25 and atypical antipsychotics is IDR 163,045.50 which indicates that the typical ACER antipsychotic value is smaller than those of atypical antipsychotics based on the length of stay of patients in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) room. Whereas based on the PANSS-EC score of the patient, the total ACER value of the typical antipsychotic group was IDR1,189,910.42 and in atypical antipsychotics was IDR. 572,089.47. Conclusion: Atypical antipsychotics are more cost-effective than typical antipsychotics.

Abstract

Hypertension is characterized by increased blood pressure due to various risks that do not function normally in stabilizing blood pressure. According to WHO, the number of hypertension patients worldwide in 2020 reached 972 million (26.4%) and increased in 2021 to 1.2 billion (29.2%). Hypertension treatment must be carried out long, requiring a substantial aggregate treatment cost. Based on BPJS data, in 2014, hypertension accounted for approximately Rp2.8 trillion in healthcare costs, which increased annually until 2016, reaching around Rp4.2 trillion. The purpose of this study is to describe the overall estimated cost of hypertension treatment for outpatients at Puskesmas Gamping 2. This Cost of Illness (COI) study calculates direct and indirect costs from the perspectives of payers and patients. The study was conducted on 65 respondents selected using the convenience sampling technique. The research instruments included the collection of financial administration information and medical records. The study results show that the majority of outpatient hypertension patients at Puskesmas Gamping 2 are female, totaling 41 patients (63%), aged 55-64 years (27 patients, 42%), and working as housewives (27 patients, 42%). The average total cost (COI) of outpatient hypertension treatment at Puskesmas Gamping 2 is Rp1,852,392, with a minimum cost of Rp772,886 and a maximum of Rp3,837,080 per patient per year. These results indicate the need for a more effective and efficient hypertension management strategy, both clinically and economically, to reduce the continuously increasing financial burden on the healthcare system and patients.
