Newcastle Disease (ND) is still endemic in Indonesia, characterized by its your-round occurrence. Many measures have been adopted by the government to prevent the spread of the disease including vaccination using both active and inactive vaccine. The quality of vaccine is influenced by its viral content which determines the success of ND vaccination in chicken flock. The viral content in ND vaccine can be determined by measuring its eggs lethal dose-50 (ELD50) or Tissue Culture Infective Dose-50 (TCID50) and the minimum viral content considered to be appropriate for active ND vaccine is 66,5/single dose. This study was conducted to find out the viral content of ND vaccine marketed in some poultry shops. ND vaccine of LaSota strain were obtained from 2 different poultry shops and the viral content was determined in Chicken embryo fibroblast (CEF). The vaccines were reconstituted vaccine diluent and diluted serially in 10-fold diluted. Each dilution was inoculated into 4 wells of confluent CEF cultured in 96 well microplate. The TCID50 was then calculated by Reed and Muench method. The TCID50 of each vaccine was determined 4 times (4 replications). The result showed that the titer of the virus in the vaccine were 66,7and 67 TCID50/per dose which mean that both vaccines were still above the minimum standard of viral content recommended by some workers.

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk meningkatkan produktivitas sapi bali melalui pengendalian penyakit ekto dan endoparasit pada sapi kandang Simantri di desa Sobangan. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah petani ternak Simantri yang memelihara sapinya dengan cara dikandangkan, sesuai kandang Simantri. Metode yang diterapkan untuk tercapainya tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan spraying dan pemberian obat cacing atau obat protozoa langsung ke peternak Simantri di desa Sobangan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelayanan kesehatan pada sapi bali di desa Sobangan telah dilakukan pada tanggal 27 Juli 2016. Kegiatan ini disambut baik oleh peternak Simantri di desa Sobangan. Simpulan dari kegiatan pengendalian penyakit ekto dan endoparasit pada sapi kandang simantri berhasil dengan baik dilaksanakan. Saran dari hasil pengabdian ini supaya disamping pemberian obat cacing secara rutin dilakukan spraying dan juga diberikan obat anti protozoa saluran pencernaan pada sapi kandang simantri.

Hospes utama penyakit Flu Burung adalah unggas termasuk ayam buras yang berpotensi tinggi sebagai penular dan penyebar penyakit karena sistim pemeliharannya secara semi intensif. Kasus kematian manusia akibat Flu Burung pernah terjadi di Banjar Batugaing Desa Beraban Kecamatan Kediri. Desa Nyambu terletak di Kecamatan Kediri, Kabupaten Tabanan. Populasi ayam buras di Kecamatan Kediri sebanyak 30.171 ekor pada tahun 2016. Mengingat potensi Desa Nyambu dengan penduduk yang kebanyakan memelihara ayam buras secara semi intensif, maka sangat rentan terjadinya penyebaran penyakit Flu Burung di Desa tersebut. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Nyambu adalah untuk mencegah timbulnya penyakit Flu Burung yang ditularkan oleh unggas. Sasaran utama adalah masyarakat yang memelihara ayam buras. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat diawali dengan penyuluhan yang dilakukan pada tanggal 28 Juli 2018 di Kantor Desa Nyambu. Peserta penyuluhan adalah aparat Desa beserta masyarakat setempat. Materi penyuluhan meliputi pengenalan gejala klinis penyakit Flu Burung dan cara mencegah dengan vaksinasi. Vaksinasi pada ayam buras dilakukan dari satu rumah ke rumah lainnya (door to door) dengan menggunakan vaksin AI inaktif melalui suntikan intramuskuler pada paha. Sebanyak 230 ayam buras berbagai umur telah berhasil divaksinasi. Kata kunci: penyuluhan, vaksinasi, Flu Burung, ayam buras, Tabanan.

This dedication aims to improving the productivity of Bali cattle through the control of parasites diseases at around Bali cattle breeding center in the village Sobangan. This service activities preceded the survey in cattle around Bali cattle breeding center in the village Sobangan, regarding the data of infection and illness. The method is applied for the attainment of the objectives of this activity is the administration of worms drugs directly to the breeder in around the Bali cattle breeding centers in Sobangan and extension of the maintenance management of cattle to prevent infection by the parasite. Service activities in the form of health services in Bali cattle was held on June 27th, 2015 in the village Sobangan Mengwi Badung Bali. These activities responded very well by livestock farmers around the Bali cattle breeding center in the village Sobangan. Conclusions dedication to the community around the Bali cattle breeding center in the village Sobangan has succeeded well implemented. Suggestions that the provision of worms drug in cattle regularly given, so that cattle can continue to increase the productivity.

Pengabdian Masyarakat berjudul: "Pembinaan Kelompok Tani Niti Sari Desa Baturiti, Kecamatan Baturiti” merupakan salah satu Hibah Program Udayana Untuk Masyarakat (PUMA). Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan pembinaan kepada Kelompok Tani Niti Sari tentang cara meningkatkan kesehatan sapi dan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian menjadi kompos organik plus. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut diawali dengan memberikan penyuluhan kepada anggota Kelompok Tani Niti sari, selanjutnya didukung dengan praktek langsung di lapangan. Penyuluhan yang diberikan meliputi: Penyuluhan kesehatan sapi, penyuluhan kesehatan reproduksi sapi, penyuluhan teknologi tepat guna pertanian dengan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian menggunakan jamur Trichoderma untuk dibuat kompos plus. Kompos plus Trichoderma yang dihasilkan dalam pembinaan ini diharapkan dapat mengatasi permasalahan penyakit tanaman kubis milik petani Niti Sari. Penyuluhan sudah dilaksanakan tanggal 05 Juli 2019 diawali pertemuan dengan Kepala Desa Baturiti, dengan Kelompok Tani Niti Sari dan dilanjutkan dengan pembinaan Kelompok Tani. Kegiatan penyuluhan dibuka oleh Camat Baturiti, Ketua LPPM Unud, Tripika Kecamatan Baturiti, Kepala Desa beserta aparat Desa, Kelompok Tani Niti Sari dan Kelompok Tani se Desa Baturiti dan Banjar Tamantanda. Dengan demikian diharapkan Kelompok Tani Niti Sari dan Kelompok Tani disekitarnya mampu menyerap alih teknologi yang diajarkan oleh Tim Pengabdi dari Universitas Udayana.

The purpose of this community service is to prevent the incidence of Newcastle Disease in domestic poultryin Marga Dauh Puri Village, Marga Subdistrict, Tabanan Regency. Newacastle disease is highly contagiousand can cause high mortality in poultry. Kampong chickens has the potential as a transmitter of Newcastledisease because the maintenance system is semi extensive. Banjar Ole is part of the village of Marga DauhPuri, where there are many kampong chickens kept extensively. The village of Marga Dauh Puri is highlypotential for contracting Newcastle disease, as it is a chicken trade traffic route from Penebel to Denpasar.Community service activities carried out on September 24, 2017, covering the ways of raising chickens andpreventing Newcastle Disease by vaccination. Noted there are 450 poultry in Banjar Ole, as many as 372(82.6%) successfully vaccinated. This is due to some kampong chickens not extensively so not all can bevaccinated. The amount is sufficient for vaccination coverage to produce group immunity. In order to proofthat the vaccination program is appropriate, ten blood samples were collected and antibody titer was testedprior vaccination (was found to have a mean antibody titer of 22.2 HI units) which means under protective titer(24 HI units).

Ducks are one of the birds that play a role in the spread and transmission of Newcastle disease virus.Newcastle disease infection in ducks are rarely accompanied by clinical symptoms, so the ducks couldpotentially spread the disease to other birds. In general, the distribution of ducks is going from farm toMarket Poultry and vice versa. The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence Newcastledisease infection in ducks reared on farms and sold at market Galiran Klungkung regency. The sampleused in this study was serum unvaccinated ducks ND. The samples used were 420 samples taken from thefarm and from Klungkung Galiran Market from March to August 2012.Serum samples were tested for thepresence of NDV antibody by using hemagglutinationtest(Haemaglutination Inhibition Test / HI test) atthe Biomedical Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University. The results showedthat the seroprevalence Newcastle disease virus in ducks in Galiran Market were 33.3% and in farmsamounted to 46.2%. There are differences in seroprevalence Newcastle disease (p <0.05) in March, June,and August. Overall seroprevalence in Galiran Market and Newcastle disease in livestock in Klungkungregency equal to 39.8%. It can be concluded that Newcastle disease seroprevalence in Klungkung regency isquite high and might be potentially transmit the virus to other poultry. Therefore, periodic monitoring isnecessary as an effort to early prevention.

Avian Influenza which is in Indonesia known as Flu Burung is caused by the avian influenza virussubtype H5N1 (AIV-H5N1). Vaccination is one of the major strategies for preventing and eradicatingAIV-H5N1 in Indonesia. Several factors can affect the potential vaccine such as viral content and mediaused for the propagation of the virus. One of the media commonly used to propagate the virus is pathogenspecific free (SPF) embryonated chicken eggs. However, as the SPF eggs production is limited and expensive,the use of clean embryonated chicken eggs as an alternative need to examined. This study aimed todetermine the sensitivity of SPF and clean embryonated chicken eggs to the AIV-H5N1. The virus usedwas seed avian influenza virus (A/ Chicken/West Java (Subang)/29/2007) which haa previously werepropagated in SPF eggs and the Clean Eggs. The virus titer was determined as Embryo infective Dose 50%(EID50) using Reed and Muench method. Sensitivity of SPF eggs and Clean Egg to the VAI-H5N1 wascompared using Chi-square statistical analysis. The titers of Avian Influenza Virus subtype H5N1 were106.83EID50/0.1ml in SPF eggs and 106.17EID50/0.1 ml in the Clean Eggs. Statistical analysis showed that,the sensitivity of SPF Eggs and Egg Clean for the propagation of the VAI-H5N1 was not significantlydifferent.

The purpose of this study was to determine total and differential leukocyte of layer after vaccinated with Newcastle Disease (ND) and Avian Influenza (AI) combination vaccine. The research was conducted on commercial layer breeding in Denbatas Village, Tabanan Sub-district, Bali. This study used 30 layer samples. Vaccination was done with ND-AI combination vaccine which was a combination of ND vaccine strain Lasota with AI vaccine subtype H5N1. ND-AI combination vaccine was an inactive vaccine. Chicken was vaccinated at 18 weeks of age before laying eggs. Vaccination was done with one dose (0.5 ml) through thigh muscle injection. Chicken blood sampling was done twice ie, two weeks and three weeks after vaccination. The examination of the total leukocytes was performed by count chamber, whereas the differential leukocyte was examined from a blood smear preparation by Giemsa staining. Data of total and differential leukocyte examination were analyzed by descriptively quantitative. The results concluded that layer has leukopenia and heteropenia which were probably caused by hormonal factors and stress due to blood collection.
