Abstract

Purpose-This study seeks to examine the impact of collaborative synergy on business competitiveness and sustainability, and to evaluate the effect of competitiveness on business sustainability within handmade small medium enterprises. This research originates from the issues of inadequate formal collaboration, restricted product competitiveness, and sustainability concerns within the local culture-based creative industry sector. Methodology-The study employs a quantitative methodology via a survey technique. The research population comprises 285 handicraft small medium enterprises registered with the Sukabumi cooperatives and small medium enterprises office in 2024. Data was gathered using a Likert scale questionnaire and processed via structural equation modeling with Smart PLS version 4.0. Findings-The study’s findings indicate that cooperation synergy significantly enhances competitiveness, collaboration synergy significantly improves business sustainability, and competitiveness significantly contributes to business sustainability. Likewise, the synergy of collaboration towards business sustainability mediated by competitiveness has a significant positive effect. This research substantiates that strategic collaboration is the primary catalyst for competitiveness and the cornerstone of small medium enterprises sustainability. Research Limitations-This study is limited to handcraft small medium enterprises in Sukabumi, so the findings cannot be generalized to other sectors or regions. The cross-sectional survey captures only one point in time, restricting analysis of long-term dynamics. Self-reported data may introduce response bias, and external factors such as government policy, economic conditions, and digital transformation were not included in the model.. Novelty-This research is new due to the integration of three critical variables: Cooperation synergy, competitiveness, and company sustainability, inside an empirical model grounded in resource-based view and dynamic capability theory, particularly concerning creative small medium enterprises rooted in local culture.

Abstract

The development of retail businesses in Sukabumi City reflects increasingly intense competition, driven by consumers’ growing preferences for ease, convenience, and trust in the purchasing process. This competitive environment highlights the need for effective marketing strategies to both attract and retain customers. In this regard, the marketing mix and consumer trust serve as crucial factors influencing purchasing decisions. This study aims to examine the impact of the marketing mix (comprising product, price, place, and promotion) on purchase decisions, with trust acting as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 100 active consumers using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS software. The results revealed that product did not significantly affect trust (T = 0.023; P = 0.982) or purchase decisions (T = 0.824; P = 0.410). Price showed a significant influence on both trust (T = 1.985; P = 0.047) and purchase decisions (T = 4.526; P = 0.000). Place did not significantly impact trust (T = 0.399; P = 0.690) but did affect purchase decisions (T = 2.485; P = 0.013). Promotion had a significant effect on trust (T = 3.729; P = 0.000) but not on purchase decisions (T = 1.720; P = 0.086). Additionally, trust significantly influenced purchase decisions (T = 2.626; P = 0.009). These findings emphasize that appropriate strategies in pricing, placement, and promotion can foster consumer trust and positively influence purchasing behavior Keywords: Product; Price; Place; Promotion; Trust; Purchase Decision

Abstract

Abstract

The sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is the most pressing issue in economic, social, and environmental development in the modern era, where the focus of business has shifted from mere financial growth to social responsibility and resource sustainability. MSMEs, especially in the food sector in Sukabumi Regency, play a crucial role, although many still face challenges in terms of using modern technology and building extensive networks. This study aims to fill the gap by explicitly exploring the relationship between collaboration and competitiveness on the sustainability of MSMEs in the food sector, particularly in Sukabumi Regency, by considering these two variables in parallel. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method, taking a sample of 200 business actors from the total population of the food industry in Sukabumi Regency (3,501) through non-probability purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that the proposed model had very strong predictive power, as evidenced by an R-Square value of 0.963 and a Q² value of 0.632, confirming its high predictive relevance. Specifically, MSME collaboration was found to have a positive and significant effect on business sustainability (Original Sample 0.466). Collaboration enables business actors to share resources, information, and networks, which strengthens their capacity for adaptation and innovation. In addition, MSME competitiveness also has a positive and significant effect on business sustainability (Original Sample 0.519), which is achieved through operational efficiency and product differentiation. The synergy between collaboration and competitiveness is crucial to realizing resilient and competitive food MSMEs in Sukabumi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital marketing and product innovation on the sustainability of food MSMEs in Sukabumi City in facing the challenges of the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) era. The research method used a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis technique through the SmartPLS 4.0 application. The research sample consisted of 100 food MSME actors selected using purposive sampling. The results showed that digital marketing had a significant negative effect on business sustainability. This indicates that the implementation of digital marketing in MSMEs is not yet optimal and still requires more appropriate strategies for its utilization. Conversely, product innovation was found to have a positive and dominant effect on business sustainability. This means that the higher the MSME's ability to innovate, the greater their chances of surviving and growing. The R-Square value of 0.955 shows that digital marketing and product innovation can explain 95.5% of MSME business sustainability, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the model. In conclusion, MSME business sustainability is largely determined by the ability to innovate, while digital marketing will only be effective if supported by products that are relevant, high-quality, and in line with consumer needs. This study contributes theoretically to the development of literature on SME digital adaptation in the context of VUCA, as well as practically by providing recommendations for SMEs, the government, and supporting institutions to enhance product innovation while optimizing digital marketing strategies in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of delivery time and price on sales level with trust as a mediating variable among rice store consumers in Sukabumi Regency. The research applied a quantitative approach with a causal associative method. Data were collected from 112 respondents using questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS. The results revealed that delivery time positively and significantly influences both trust and sales level. Trust also has a positive and significant effect on sales level. Conversely, price does not significantly affect trust but has a negative and significant impact on sales. These findings indicate that logistical efficiency plays a more important role in building trust and increasing sales than pricing strategies. Therefore, business practitioners are advised to focus more on delivery accuracy and speed rather than merely competing on price.

The research was conducted to analyze the implementation of the PPDB zoning system in Sukabumi City using qualitative methods with the analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman models to compare with the theory originating from Van Meter and Van Horn. The results showed that Sukabumi City had implemented a zoning system to the variables in the Van Meter and Van Horn theories. There are several goals had not been achieved, namely removing the favorite school label, reducing dropout rates, increasing the net enrollment rate index, bringing parents and children closer together, and evaluating the distribution of schools in Sukabumi City. The goal has not been achieved because of the lack of bureaucratic commitment and fragmentation in the form of pressure from outside the bureaucratic unit.
