Abstract

Background:Pain is a sensory experience caused by tissue damage. In stroke patients pain occurs due to paralysis or weakness where stroke patients can experience paralysis in the muscles so that it can cause pain. This study conducted a literature review on various interventions that can reduce pain in stroke patients. Objective:This literature review aims the latest information about interventions that are effective in reducing the pain of stroke patients. Method: The research method uses PRISMA with a systematic approach and selection process. Library sources are searched online databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Ebsco. The selected articles include reputable journals published in Indonesian and English. Result: After carrying out a screening process using PRISMA, 6 articles were found that were relevant and worthy of review. Based on a journal review, the results show that there are various types of interventions that are effective in reducing pain in stroke patients, including the use of drugs such as analgesics, then physical therapy such as traditional Thai messaging and shoulder management. Apart from that, there are non-pharmacological interventions such as providing functional electrical stimulation, kinesio tapping and dry needling therapy which can help reduce pain. This research can also provide important information for health workers in providing appropriate interventions to reduce pain in stroke patients. However, further research is needed to identify the most effective interventions in reducing pain in stroke patients.

Abstract

This research examines the relationships between Intellectual Capital, Human Capital, Structural Capital, and Relationship Capital toward Firm Value in Indonesia's property and real estate companies. The aim is to analyse the power of intellectual capital in leveraging business performance. The target population for the study constituted all property and real estate sector companies in Indonesia total 215 observations within 2018-2022. The data was processed using an ordinary least square approach to gain the t-value of this relationship. This research measures the intellectual capital variable not from a financial or value-added perspective but from a descriptive side using for-way coding indicator. We found that relational capital has a significant positive relationship toward firm value. The study emphasized the need to change the proxy for firm value or to add some bridge between intellectual capital and financial performance to create a clear understanding.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Chronic renal failure is a global problem, and there is a reciprocal relationship with cardiovascular disease. Cardiac arrest is one of the complications that can occur in patients with chronic renal failure. The study will look at whether chronic renal failure is a risk factor for cardiac arrest with chronic renal failure in patients in the ICU. This study used a cross-sectional analytical observational study design. The data taken was in the form of medical record data of patients with chronic renal failure in the ICU of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital who experienced cardiac arrest without seeing the comorbidities of the disease. Total subjects amounted to 168 patients. To determine chronic renal failure as a risk factor for cardiac arrest, the data obtained were carried out bivariate regression test with a meaning of <0.05. Bivariate test results showed a p>0.05 value, meaning chronic renal failure is not significantly a risk factor for cardiac arrest. Subjects with chronic renal failure had a relative risk (RR) of 1.27, which means they had a 1.27 times higher risk of cardiac arrest than patients without chronic renal failure. Chronic renal failure is not significantly a risk factor for cardiac arrest, but it has a greater risk of cardiac arrest than without chronic renal failure. Further research is needed, taking into account the underlying comorbid disease. Keywords: Chronic Renal Failure, Risk Factors, Cardiac Arrest, Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Abstract

Given global environmental challenges, developing sustainable behavior among pre-service teachers is crucial, as they will be responsible to educate future generations who must contribute to solving environmental problems. Offline pro-environmental identity refers as the individual's environmental commitment in real-life setting. Previous studies have primarily focused on online identity and behavioral intentions, while real-life behavioral context have not been fully examined. The goal of this study was to investigate the effects of the online pro-environmental identity, the perceived behavioral control, and the moral identity on the behavioral intention and the offline pro-environmental behavior. The study employed a quantitative research design and adopted Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) to analyze the data. The population was all Economics Education students of Universitas Negeri Semarang. A proportionate simple random sampling method was employed to choose 277 respondents. Questionnaire-based data were obtained and analyzed using CB-SEM. The findings reveal that intention was a strong and positive predictor of offline pro-environmental behavior (H1). Moral identity significantly influences intention (H2) and affects offline behavior both directly (H3) and indirectly through intention (H8). Online pro-environmental identity also has a significant influence on both intention (H4) and offline behavior (H5), with both effects mediated by intention (H9). However, perceived behavioral control has no impact on either intention (H6) or discharge behavior offline (H7), even indirectly through intention (H10). R value for intention is a moderate 0.539 whereas offline pro-environmental behaviour shows a strong R value at 0.963. These results emphasize the importance of intention for transforming values and identity to actual ecological behaviour. Enhancing moral and online pro-environmental identity can be beneficial to the development of sustainable behavior in offline context which calls for joint efforts in environmental education and behavioral interventions.

Abstract

Cancer patients commonly experience complex clusters of psychological and physiological symptoms, particularly pain, sleep disturbances, and fatigue. These symptoms require comprehensive and continuous management. This study introduced an innovative, non-pharmacological approach using a culture-based mobile health (mHealth) application Bersama Peduli to support primary symptom management. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of the Bersama Peduli mHealth application on pain, sleep quality, and fatigue among cancer patients. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test–post-test approach was employed. The sample consisted of 36 patients aged 18–75 years, selected through purposive sampling. Pain intensity was assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), sleep disturbances using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and fatigue using the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy–Fatigue (FACIT–F). Measurements were taken over a four-week intervention period. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The findings demonstrated significant improvements in pain, sleep disturbances, and fatigue, with all outcomes showing p-values of 0.001 (p < 0.05). These results indicate that the culture-based mHealth application Bersama Peduli effectively reduces pain, improves sleep quality, and decreases fatigue among cancer patients. Integration of this intervention into comprehensive cancer care strategies is strongly recommended.

Abstract

Stroke causes weakness in the limbs, which makes stroke patients often fall into bed rest. Continuous pressure on the skin and bone protrusions during bed rest can lead to decreased blood flow, tissue ischemia, and infection, which can result in pressure injury. Bedrest conditions will differ from one disease to another, with the highest incidence in stroke patients. Internal and external factors influence the risk of pressure ulcers and their severity. The study aims to analyze the risk factors for pressure injury in stroke patients. This literature review used two international databases PubMed and Science Direct, and other supporting literature from Google Scholar. The keywords pressure injury, risk factors, and stroke were used. The articles were published between 2016 and 2021. The quality of the articles was examined using the Joanna Briggs Institute Review Instrument.  The results show pressure injuries in stroke patients arise from the combined effects of immobility, moisture, compromised nutritional status, and sensory impairment. Prolonged inability to change body position contributes to sustained pressure, reduced tissue perfusion, and increased vulnerability of the skin, while moisture associated with incontinence promotes maceration and disrupts epithelial integrity. Pressure injuries are a serious problem in stroke patients, especially those who are on bed rest. Providing education and counseling, as well as assistance to families, should be carried out, using interesting media and paying attention to every risk factor for pressure injuries.
