Abstract

Perlakuan pedet dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol (KK), kelompok perlakuan 1 (KP1), kelompok perlakuan 2 (KP2). Kelompok kontrol diberi makan rumput kering amonia, konsentrat, susu sedangkan kelompok perlakuan 1 diberi pakan rumput kering diamoniase, konsentrat, susu, prebiotik, dan kelompok perlakuan 2 diberi pakan rumput kering diamoniase, konsentrat, tepung kelor.

Abstract

Pigs are livestock that are raised and bred for consumption and as a support for the community's economy. Rote Ndao Regency is one of the areas with a large pig population in NTT. Livestock health is an important factor to support the sustainability of pig farming in Rote Ndao, which cannot be separated from the use of antibiotics. Antibiotics are substances produced by microorganisms naturally, semi-synthetic or synthetic which in small amounts can inhibit or kill bacteria. However, the use of antibiotics by pig farmers is not done rationally. This can lead to antibiotic residues in food of animal origin, the incidence of resistance, and treatment failure. The purpose of this research is to examine the use of antibiotics by pig farmers without going through a prescription or veterinary supervision, the types of antibiotics often used by pig farmers and the reasons for using antibiotics themselves by pig farmers. Data were obtained from filling out questionnaires by 385 respondents as pig farmers. Primary data is processed and analyzed and then presented in the form of graphs or tables. The results showed that the respondents who used antibiotics without a prescription, applied antibiotics without the supervision of a veterinarian, were all pig farmers who used antibiotics. The most commonly used antibiotics are the tetracyclines, sulfonamides and penicillins. The reason pig farmers use antibiotics without veterinary supervision is that antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infectious diseases, increase livestock appetite, increase livestock weight, prevent disease and treat all types of diseases.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the level of intensity and degree of infection incidence of Anisakis sp in Rastrelliger sp and Epinephelus sp in eastern waters of Indonesia. A total of 190 fish specimens were randomized (random sampling) on 95 Rastrelliger sp and 95 Epinephelus sp from fish selling places in various areas of Kupang city. The larvae obtained were collected and fixed with 70% alcohol, and stained using Semichen acetic carmine solution. Morphological identification of Anisakis sp larvae through ventriculus, boring tooth, and mucron shapes on a stereo microscope. The parasites found were grouped into Anisakis sp type I and type II. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the presence of Anisakis sp. in Epinephelus sp that is 94 out of 95 fish. The results also confirmed that Anisakis sp infection implies a high risk of Epinephelus sp fish species so that further identification is needed at the molecular level.

Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and Moringa in the compilation of feed for broiler chickens. This research was conducted from June to November 2021, in the Nekamese chicken coop, Kupang district. The study used a completely randomized design using 4 treatment designs. Chickens are fed approximately 3 kg a day 2 times in the morning and evening, with drinking water given at libitum. The test results showed that for each treatment group, the feed containing Moringa and lactic acid bacteria isolates from palm sap on broiler chickens did not show a significant effect. However, if viewed descriptively, it shows the difference from the average difference in treatment. The average platelet value in the treatment group was higher than the control group. Further research is needed with a larger sample size related to Moringa as broiler chicken feed.
