Abstract

In the contemporary digital learning landscape, the role of printed textbooks as educational resources remains a topic of interest and scrutiny. This study investigates the perceptions and utilisation of printed textbooks among students and teachers in the context of Indonesian language learning. Through a qualitative approach employing interviews and surveys, the study examines the nuanced attitudes towards printed textbooks amidst the proliferation of digital learning tools. Findings reveal the enduring value attributed to printed textbooks by both students and teachers, despite the advent of digital resources. Moreover, the study sheds light on the specific contexts in which printed textbooks are deemed advantageous or preferable over digital alternatives. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the evolving dynamics between traditional printed materials and digital learning platforms within contemporary educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the educational values and potential of religious characters in the novel "Sabtu Bersama Bapak" by Adhitya Mulya as a literature teaching material in schools. The method employed in this research is qualitative descriptive, with the subject and object of the study consisting of words or phrases found within the novel "Sabtu Bersama Bapak" by Adhitya Mulya. The primary source of data for this research is the novel itself, "Sabtu Bersama Bapak." Data collection techniques utilized in this study include literature review, observation, and note-taking. The findings of this study have revealed four out of five elements of a religious character or "Beriman," "Bertakwa Kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa," and "Berakhlak Mulia" as outlined in the "Profil Pelajar Pancasila" (Pancasila Student Profile). These elements include (a) religious ethics such as praying to God, expressing gratitude to the Almighty, performing religious rituals, and surrendering to God's will, (b) personal ethics encompassing sincerity, self-respect, self-care, responsibility, patience, and courtesy, (c) social ethics involving assisting those in need, respecting others with polite speech, communicating respectfully with others, advising others, and providing solutions, and (d) environmental ethics entailing a love for nature and appreciation of its beauty. Meanwhile, the potential of "Sabtu Bersama Bapak" as teaching material in this study is demonstrated through the reinforcement of students' character education via the religious character elements present in the novel.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the values of the Pancasila student profile contained in the novel "Humairah & Alfarisi" by Nurul Khairul Sabila. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research is the novel "Humaira & Alfarisi" by Nurul Khairul Sabila, the second printing of which amounted to 432 pages and was published in 2018 by Wahyu Qolbi Publisher. The data in this study are the story text and dialog contained in the novel "Humaira and Alfarisi" by Nurul Khaira Sabila. The data collection techniques used in the research are reading, recording, and data reduction techniques. The validation technique in this research uses data triangulation including triangulation of methods and theories. Data analysis techniques in this research are data comparison, categorization, and inference. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the novel "Humaira and Alfarisi" by Nurul Khaira Sabila contains several values of the Pancasila student profile, including. (1) The dimension of faith, fear of God, and noble character contains elements of religious morals, personal morals, and morals to humans. (2) The dimension of working together which contains elements of collaboration, caring, sharing, giving, and receiving. (3) An independent dimension containing elements of self-awareness. (4) A critical reasoning dimension containing elements of curiosity.

Abstract

The suitability of games as an effective learning medium provides deep insight into the interactions between teachers and students in innovative learning contexts. The purpose of this research is to (1) describe students' active responses to the “TISTER” application as an Android-based learning media and (2) describe teachers' responses to the “TISTER” application as an Android-based learning media. Qualitative descriptive method with a case study model. The research subjects in this study were VIIIC students and Indonesian language teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Jatisrono. The research object includes student and teacher responses to educational games. Research data is information and facts. Primary data sources are direct observations, interviews, and questionnaire instruments. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, classroom observations when the application was used, and questionnaire analysis of class VIIIC student responses. Testing the validity of this data was carried out using source triangulation techniques. Data analysis method by Miles and Huberman. The results of research on student responses showed that there was an increase in activity of 87%, while 13% felt that they had not experienced an increase in activity. The results of the research on teacher responses were the suitability of the aspects assessed (material content, learning objectives, targets, completeness, and relevance of the content). The percentage of assessments from teacher 1's responses to indicators 1-5 (V1-V5), namely 80%, 82%, 80%, 86% and 82%. Teacher responses in terms of material and media aspects in educational games were reviewed by two teachers each against five performance indicators (V1-V5).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur yang membangun novel dan mendeskripsikan kritik sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Merdeka Sejak Hati karya Ahmad Fuadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan mengadopsi strategi  sosiologi sastra guna mengetahui kritik sosial dalam novel tersebut. Data pada penelitian ini berupa dialog kutipan cerita dari novel tersebut. Sumber data penelitian ini berupa novel Merdeka Sejak Hati karya Ahmad Fuadi. Tekniik pengumpulan data menerapkan teknik simak dan cattat. Proses pengumpulan data yakni dengan cara membaca  dan catat keseluruhan isi teks dialog cerita yang mengandung kritik sosial dalam novel. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, analisis konten, analisis perbandingan dengan cara..mengidentifikasi dan analisis struktural pada novel, dan menerapkan tinjauan sosiologi sastra. Adapun uji derajat kepercayaan atas data penelitian yang diperoleh dalam penelitian yakni menerapkan triangulasi teknik atau teori. Pada penelitian ini hasilnya yaitu (1) unsur intrinsik terdiri atas tema: kebebasan batin dan perjuangan. Penokohan berisi tokoh: Lafran, Sutan Pangurabaan, Gonto Siregar dan tokoh tambahan lainnya. Alur cerita menggunakan alur maju dan alur mundur. Latar cerita novel terdapat latar tempat, suasana dan latar waktu. Gaya bahasa menggunakan majas personifikasi. Amanat terkandung dalam novel dalam menjalankan kehidupan, diperlukan semangat hidup yang kuat, bersikap jujur, bersyukur, berani, bertanggung jawab, peka terhadap lingkungan, disiplin, dan konsisten. (2)Terdapat 6 kritik masalah sosial dalam novel yaitu masalah politik, moral, pendidikan,agama, ekonomi, dan keluarga.Kata kunci: Kritik Sosial, Novel, Sosiologi Sastra.

Abstract

Kearifan lokal perlu diintegrasikan dalam buku teks pegangan siswa. Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal diharapkan dapat merefleksikan nilai-nilai budaya Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai kearifan lokal dalam buku teks Bahasa Indonesia kelas X Kurikulum Merdeka. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah buku Bahasa Indonesia kelas X Kurikulum merdeka. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah paragraf, kalimat, atau kata yang mengandung nilai kearifan lokal. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak, catat, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis menggunakan model interaktif dan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam buku teks Bahasa Indonesia kelas X Kurikulum Merdeka mengandung nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Kearifan lokal yang ada meliputi kuliner khas daerah, cagar alam dan budaya, tradisi, dan sastra lisan. Kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam buku teks Bahasa Indonesia kelas X ini dapat menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai budaya yang ada di Indonesia. Dengan demikian dengan adanya nilai kearifan lokal ini siswa dapat mempelajari kearifan lokal dan dapat diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun perlu diperhatikan bahwa kearifan lokal tersebut masih sangat sedikit dan tidak dalam semua bab sudah mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguraikan kesalahan berbahasa yang terdapat pada poster umum yang terletak di komplek pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang digunakan berupa poster atau media cetak luar ruang yang bersumber dari bangunan SD, SMP, dan SMA di komplek pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya. Pengumpulan data menggunakna metode dokumentasi dan teknik simak catat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode agih dan divalidasi dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil dari analisis ini yaitu temuan kesalahan berbahasa Indonesia pada bidang fonologi, yang meliputi kesalahan penulisan huruf kapital, kesalahan penulisan tanda baca, kesalahan penulisan angka, dan kesalahan pelesapan fonem. Pada bidang sintaksis meliputi kesalahan yang ditemukan meliputi kesalahan penulisan kalimat tidak jelas, penggunaan kata tidak baku, penggunaan kata serapan, kesalahan pemilihan diksi, dan kesalahan penggunaan kata mubazir. Sedangkan pada bidang morfologi, kesalahan yang ditemukan meliputi kesalahan penulisan reduplikasi atau kata ulang dan kesalahan penggunaan kata ulang di-.

Abstract

Diagnostic assessment is essential for teachers to determine the initial steps before learning begins. One useful instrument in this process is performance-based assessment, which evaluates products such as writing or other creative works. This study aims to describe the process and outcomes of diagnosing poetry products using the Perplexity.ai tool. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the research analyzed 30 student poems collected as part of a diagnostic assessment of Indonesian language performance for class VIII H students at SMP Negeri 1 Salatiga. Data were gathered through initial observation and documentation of the Perplexity.ai application usage. Data analysis followed Milles and Huberman's interactive approach, encompassing data reduction, categorization, presentation, and conclusion drawing.The study found that (1) the Perplexity.ai application can be effectively utilized in learning, particularly for assessing students' poetry products. Teachers input students' poetry results into the application, specify the necessary assessment indicators, and allow the tool to evaluate the poems systematically. (2) The tool significantly aids teachers in analyzing student work, offering clear insights into key aspects. The diagnostic assessment results of students' poetry products highlighted three main evaluative aspects: rhyme, diction, and figures of speech. Overall, the Perplexity.ai application streamlines the diagnostic process and enhances the efficiency of evaluating student performance in poetry writing.

Abstract

The urgency of implementing Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) and E-Assessment in sermon text learning lies in the need to enhance the relevance of teaching materials to the cultural and religious backgrounds of students while providing more objective and efficient assessments. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of combining CRT and E-Assessment in improving students' competencies at Pondok Pesantren Modern Islam Assalaam, particularly in sermon text learning. The study employed a qualitative approach with an embedded case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, documentation, and audio-video recordings. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns in teaching and technology-based assessment practices. The results show that CRT enhances the relevance of learning materials to students’ cultural contexts, boosting confidence, participation, and intercultural understanding. Meanwhile, E-Assessment provides a more objective and efficient tool for evaluating sermon texts, particularly in terms of structure, coherence, and language use. However, the study also highlights challenges, such as limitations in assessing the performative aspects of speaking skills and the need for more inclusive material development. The study concludes that the combination of CRT and E-Assessment is effective in supporting students' competency development, although further innovations are needed in technology integration and teacher-student training.

Abstract

The issue of low early reading proficiency among students is the primary focus of this study. This research aims to analyze the factors influencing students' reading difficulties, describe the implementation of the Literacy Alphabet Cards (KAL) as a learning medium in early-grade classrooms, and present the outcomes of its application in teaching. A qualitative research method with a descriptive design was employed. Data collection techniques included observations, interviews, and the direct involvement of the researcher in the learning process. Data were analyzed using an interactive data analysis technique encompassing data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with verification. The findings reveal internal factors affecting reading difficulties, such as intelligence levels and learning motivation, as well as external factors, including family and community environments. The KAL medium was designed using simple materials and implemented directly during the teaching process. The application of the KAL medium proved effective in enhancing early reading skills, as evidenced by improvements in students’ learning outcomes. The study concludes that the KAL medium can serve as an innovative alternative to addressing early reading difficulties by incorporating approaches that consider both internal and external student factors.
