Abstract

Kehalalan merupakan aspek penting untuk menjamin produk obat maupun kosmetik yang digunakan di masyarakat agar aman dari bahan yang dinyatakan haram secara syariat Islam. Artikel ini memaparkan berbagai metode analisis untuk mendeteksi bahan tidak halal, khususnya turunan babi seperti daging, minyak, dan gelatin dalam berbagai macam sampel. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah studi literatur terhadap artikel ilmiah tahun 2015 hingga 2025. Sebanyak 46 artikel yang memenuhi kriteriia inklusi dianalisis dalam artikel ini. Metode yang dikaji diantaranya metode PCR dan variannya (RT-PCR, konvensional PCR, LAMP), spektroskopi (FTIR, ATR-FTIR, H-NMR, NIR), kromatografi dan Mass Spektrometri (HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS), metode cepat dan inovatif (OENS). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa metode PCR memiliki sensitivitas tinggi dalam mendeteksi DNA, metode FTIR yang dikombinasikan dengan kemometrik efektif membedakan sumber gelatin, dan metode GC-MS dapat mendeteksi lemak babi dalam sampel campuran. Metode baru seperti LAMP dengan AuNP-oligoprobe juga dapat dijadikan pilihan karena dapat mendeteksi visual tanpa perlu alat mahal. Meskipun telah banyak kemajuan secara metode, penelitian mengenai autentikasi halal pada kosmetik masih terbatas dan perlu penelitian lebih lanjut. Artikel ini memaparkan keunggulan dan keterbatasan masing-masing metode agar dapat menjadi referensi penting untuk pengembangan uji kehalalan di masa mendatang, terutama kosmetik yang masih jarang diteliti kehalalannya.

Abstract

Penelitian sebelumnya telah membuktikan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak etanol biji klabet (Trigonella foenum graecum L.) pada dosis 1 g/kg BB, buah mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) pada dosis 0,5g/kg BB, dan biji jintan hitam (Nigella sativa L.) pada dosis 1g/kg BB memberikan aktivitas antidiabetes pada tikus putih jantan yang diinduksi aloksan. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antidiabetes kombinasi ekstrak etanol tumbuhan tersebut (disingkat menjadi uji 1) jika dibandingkan dengan masing-masing ekstraknya (uji 2, uji 3, dan uji 4 secara berurutan). Glibenklamid pada dosis 0,45 mg/kg BB digunakan sebagai kontrol positif dan aloksan pada dosis175 mg/kg BB digunakan sebagai kontrol negatif. Metode pengukuran kadar glukosa darah dilakukan dengan menggunakan glukometer Accu check dengan metode enzimatik menggunakan strip test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa uji 1, uji 2, uji 3, dan uji 4 berpengaruh secara signifikan (sig. ? < 0,05) terhadap kontrol negatif. Uji 1 memberikan aktivitas antidiabetes paling baik pada hari ke-4 setelah perlakuan, dengan persentase penurunan kadar glukosa darah relatif paling tinggi sebesar 60,39%, diikuti oleh kontrol positif sebesar 53,36%, uji 3 sebesar 47,73%, uji 2 sebesar 37,49% dan uji 4 sebesar 37,03%. Namun, secara statistik, aktivitas antidiabetes yang dihasilkan oleh uji 1 tidak berbeda signifikan terhadap kontrol positif, uji 2, uji 3, dan uji 4.

Abstract

Studies have demonstrated that Asiatic acid (AA) from Centella asiatica has anticancer properties in cancer cell lines, but translating these findings into clinical research remains challenging. This review aims to provide a robust scientific foundation for enhancing the translational potential of AA-based anticancer therapy. The PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases were searched electronically using specific keywords and screened in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines.  Fourteen studies meet the criteria. All research was conducted in vitro; four studies were conducted both in vitro and in vivo, and three were conducted in silico.Asiatic acid (AA) demonstrates potent anticancer activity by modulating key signaling pathways, including PI3K/Akt and NF-κB, thereby inhibiting proliferation, promoting apoptosis, and reducing metastasis. Its cytotoxic effects are time- and dose-dependent (1–50 µM) and minimal in normal cells. While AA and its derivatives consistently outperform controls, limitations such as missing control dose data warrant further investigation. Future studies should focus on in vivo validation, clinical translation, and advanced strategies such as targeted delivery and AI-assisted drug development to fully realize AA’s therapeutic potential.

Abstract

Plant material analysis requires efficient, reliable, and sustainable methods for characterization, authentication, and quality control. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), combined with chemometrics, has emerged as a non-destructive approach that requires minimal sample preparation. This review summarizes developments and applications of FTIR chemometrics in plant analysis from 2015 to 2025, based on more than 32 published studies. The evolution of data analysis is described from classical techniques, including Principal Component Analysis and Partial Least Squares, to machine learning methods such as Support Vector Machines and Random Forests. Various FTIR modes, namely ATR FTIR, DRIFTS, and FTIR PAS, are discussed for analyses of leaves, roots, rhizomes, flowers, fruits, and fossilized plant materials. Reported applications include species identification with accuracies approaching 100%, geographic origin authentication with 77-94% accuracy, detection of adulteration in high-value commodities such as saffron, quantification of bioactive constituents with determination coefficients of 0.96-0.99, and assessment of environmental or agronomic influences on plant composition. Although challenges remain, particularly matrix complexity and calibration transfer, FTIR chemometrics represents a sustainable, rapid, and cost-effective tool for research and industrial quality control. Future directions emphasize the global integration of artificial intelligence and instrument miniaturization.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus in Indonesia now ranks 5th with the highest number of diabetes mellitus sufferers in the world. At present, the prevalence has increased from 6.2% compared to 2019. Diabetics need to get effective and safe drugs in order to avoid various complications. In addition to using pharmacological therapy, it is also necessary to carry out non-pharmacological therapy. One type of medicinal plant that is known to be effective in reducing sugar is ginger and cinnamon, but there has not been much reported on its processing other than in the form of a decoction or marinade. The purpose of carrying out this PPM activity is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the people of Mekarjaya Banjaran Village regarding the use of medicinal plants as anti-diabetics, and provide knowledge about making ginger-cinnamon instant powder drinks. The activity method is carried out in 3 stages, namely the planning, implementation, evaluation and follow-up stages. The results of this PPM activity show that the community has a better understanding of efforts to be healthy in preventing diabetes through the use of ginger-cinnamon medicinal plants, and how to process them through instant powders. The evaluation is carried out based on the results of the initial test and the final test as a method for measuring the achievements of this PPM activity.
