Abstract

This study aimed at formulating a model of conflict-resolution counseling with comprehensive guidance ground for developing peace and harmony life competences of vocational high school students. Quantitative-qualitative approach with researchand development method was used. Population of the research consisted of students of vocational high schools in Bandung Municipality with its sample amounting to 364 students, 4 counselors, and 1 expert of guidance and counseling intervention. Results showed: (1) learning to be and learning to live together were education pillars which were not neglected, where there is a view that learning to live together as a parexcellent pillar; (2) Generally students’ peace and harmony life competences were in high category but affection, harmony, and thanks giving aspects needed to be developed; (3) conflict resolution was under the umbrella of peace education, in agroup with peace, reconciliation, tolerance, respect to human rights, and civil participation; (4) based on theoretical and empirical consideration, the conflict - resolution guidance with comprehensive guidance background was predicted to beable to become an alternative solution for developing students’ peace and harmony life competences, and (5) validation results of a rational model that involved guidance and counseling experts and school counselors showed that the model had feasibility to be implemented at school.Keywords: counseling, conflict-resolution, comprehensive guidance, peace and harmony life.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan merumuskan model konseling resolusi konflik berlatar bimbingan komprehensif untuk mengembangkan kompetensi hidup damai dan harmoni siswa SMK. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan metode riset pengembangan. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMK di kota Bandung dengan jumlah sampel 364 siswa, 4 orang konselor, dan 1 orang pakar intervensi BK. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) learning to be dan learning to live together adalah pilar yang tidak dapat diabaikan, sementara ada pandangan bahwa learning to live together sebagai pilar keunggulan; (2) secara umum kompetensi hidup damai dan harmoni siswa berada pada kategori tinggi namun aspek keharuan, harmoni, dan terima kasih masih perlu pengembangan; (3) resolusi konflik berada dalam payung pendidikan damai (peace education) satu gugus dengan perdamaian, rekonsiliasi, toleransi, penghargaan terhadap hak asasi, dan partisipasi sipil; (4) berdasarkan pertimbangan teoretis dan empiris, konseling resolusi konflik dapat menjadi alternatif solusi pengembangan kompetensi hidup damai dan harmoni siswa; dan (5) hasil validasi rasional menunjukkan bahwa model memiliki fisibilitas untuk diimplementasikan di sekolah.This study aimed at formulating a model of conflict-resolution counseling with comprehensive guidance ground for developing peace and harmony life competences of vocational high school students. Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh mudahnya penggunaan komunikasi secara online yang dapat menimbulkan perilaku cyberbullying di kalangan remaja. Penelitian bertujuan menghasilkan data empirik mengenai kecenderungan perilaku cyberbullying yang dilakukan peserta didik Kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di Kota Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif dan desain penelitian survei. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) kecenderungan perilaku cyberbullying peserta didik Kelas VIII berada pada intensitas rendah sekali baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan bentuk; 2) kecenderungan perilaku cyberbullying berdasarkan jenis kelamin pada peserta didik kelas VIII berada pada intensitas rendah sekali pada setiap bentuk yang ada, namun terdapat dua bentuk yang memiliki intensitas tinggi yakni cyberstalking dan exclusion. AbstractThe ease of utilizing technology and the shifting pattern of communication from face to face to online make adolescents one of the most vulnerable communities to the negative impact of technology. One of the negative effects of technology and online communication is the emergence of cyberbullying behavior among teenagers. There is a different attitude and intensity between boys and girls in cyberbullying events. The study aimed to produce empirical data regarding the tendency of cyberbullying behavior based on gender by Class VIII students in one of the junior high schools in Bandung City Academic Year 2017/2018. The research approach used is quantitative with descriptive research methods and survey research designs. The results of the study show: 1) the tendency of cyberbullying behavior of Class VIII students to be at very low intensity both overall and based on form; 2) the tendency of cyberbullying behavior based on gender in Class VIII students is at very low intensity in each form, but there are two forms of behavior that have high intensity, namely cyberstalking and exclusion.

Abstract

The background of this research is importance of mastering social skills by elementary school students, both of which entered formal education (kindergarten) or informal education (family). The research objective is obtaining students' social skills profiles based on preschool educational background (kindergarten and non-kindergarten). The study was conducted in elementary schools Cijerokaso 1 and 2 Bandung using a quantitative approach and descriptive study method. The results have shown: (1) profile of social skills of elementary school students with a kindergarten background in general is at high qualifications and social skills profile of elementary school students with a non kindergarten background in general are at high and medium qualifications; (2) There is no difference in terms of average social skills between elementary school students with kindergarten background and elementary school students with non kindergarten background, either in general or by each category.Keywords: social skills, elementary school student, preschool educational background.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to provide an overview of empirical research to the student prosocial behavior in elementary school. The approach used to examine the student prosocial behavior is a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The population is 84 high-grade student's SD Miftahul Iman Year 2015/2016. Results show that the overall level of prosocial behavior is the adequate category with average value of 1.89, which indicates that students are already quite capable of showing their prosocial behavior but still require the guidance of a counselor or teacher. Based on sex, there is difference but not significant in the average value of prosocial behavior among girl and boy students.Keywords: prosocial behavior, elementary student, sex difference.

Abstract

As an effort to achieve the developmental tasks of primary school age children, they are expected to obtain the basics of knowledge that are considered important to successfully adapt to adult life, and learn various important skills. However, there were several aspects that inhibit the achievement of the developmental tasks, for instance, off-task behavior, in which students disengaged from the learning environment by performing unrelated behavior. The occurrence of off-task behavior phenomena in primary school students needs to be addressed. Therefore, this research aims at investigating the profile of off-task behavior in primary school students. This quantitative research was conducted using the instruments of off-task behavior. This research involved 25 fifth grade primary school students in one private primary school in South Jakarta. The research results revealed that there were 60% of the students who were categorized performing moderate rate of off-task behavior with motoric aspect was the highest rare (38.7%).

Abstract

AbstrakKesantunan berbahasa merupakan suatu keterampilan yang penting dimiliki setiap indvidu untuk dapat mencapai kesuksesan dan keharmonisan dalam hidup. Kesantunan berbahasa berkaitan dengan keterampilan individu dalam menyesuaikan bahasa pada saat berinteraksi dengan individu lain. Dalam perspektif lain, kesantunan berbahasa merupakan bagian dari character strength dalam psikologi positif yaitu keramahan (agreeableness). Tujuan penelitian kesantunan berbahasa yaitu mendeskripsikan gambaran kesantunan berbahasa siswa sebagai salah satu bentuk keterampilan interaksi sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif kepada siswa kelas X sebanyak 191 orang menggunakan instrumen penelitian MC-DCT (Multiple Choice Discourse Completion Tasks). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi siswa mayoritas (70%) berada pada kategori kurang santun. Kurang santunnya siswa diakibatkan oleh kesantunan berbahasa yang digunakan antar siswa memiliki tingkat kesantunan yang lebih rendah dari kesantunan ideal (completely polite) serta jarak sosial (social distance) siswa dengan individu lain juga berakibat pada tingkat kesantunan berbahasa. AsbtractLinguistic politeness is an important skill for every individual to be able to achieve success and harmony in life. Linguistic politeness is related to individual skills in adjusting the language they use when interacting with other individuals. In another perspective, linguistic politeness is part of character strength in positive psychology, namely friendliness (agreeableness). The purpose of this linguistic politeness research is to describe linguistic politeness as one of the forms of social skills. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method to 191 tenth grade students using two types of research instruments, namely MC-DCT (Multiple Choice Discourse Completion Tasks) to measure politeness in language and an instrument to describe the factors that affect students’ linguistic politeness. The results show that the majority of students (70%) were included in the “less polite”. The lack of courtesy of students due to the politeness of the language used between students has a lower level of politeness than the ideal politeness (completely polite) and social distance (social distance) of students with other individuals also results in a level of politeness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penguasaan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal pada remaja SMA di RPSAA (Rumah Perlindungan Sosial Asuhan Anak) Ciumbuleuit Bandung. Tujuan penelitian adalah  menguji efektivitas teknik permainan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal pada remaja SMA tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain  pre-experiment design. Populasi  penelitian adalah seluruh remaja SMA di RPSAA yang berjumlah 20 orang. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal seluruh remaja SMA di RPSAA berada pada kategori tinggi, namun demikian terdapat tiga aspek berada pada kategori sedang yaitu: aspek keterbukaan sikap mendukung, dan kesetaraan; dan 2) teknik permainan mampu meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal remaja SMA di RPSAA. Rekomendasi hasil penelitian ditujukan kepada: 1) pekerja sosial di RPSAA untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal remaja, secara khusus pada aspek keterbukaan, sikap mendukung, dan kesetaraan; dan 2) peneliti selanjutnya untuk mengembangkan desain penelitian dan meneliti pengaruh variabel yang turut memengaruhi peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal pada remaja.Kata Kunci: Keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal, teknik permainan.ABSTRACT This study is based on the fact that the mastery of interpersonal communication skillsis important for the adolescents of senior high school age at Rumah Perlindungan Sosial Asuhan Anak (the Social Protection Homes for Children, henceforth RPSAA) Ciumbuleuit, Bandung. The research aims to test the effectiveness of game technique to improve interpersonal communication skills of the senior high school adolescents. It adopted quantitative approach with pre-expermental design. The research population consisted of all senior high school adolescents in the RPSAA, totaling to 20 people. Data were analyzed with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The findings show that : 1)  interpersonal communication skills of all senior high school adolescent in the RPSAA are at high category; however, there are three aspects of the skills in the medium category, namely: openness, supportiveness, and equality; and 2) Game technique can improve the interpersonal communication skills of the senior high school adolescents in the RPSAA. The research recommends that: 1) the social workers at RPSAA improve adolescents’ interpersonal communication skills, specifically openness, supportiveness, and equality; and 2) future researchers develop the research design and study the effects of variables on the improvement of interpersonal communication skills among adolescents.Keywords: Interpersonal communication  skills, game technique

Abstract

Sexual behavior in adolescence becomes prone and risky when not accompanied by an understanding of healthy sexual behavior. Many teenagers do not understand sexual education so do various forms of deviation. And overall, adolescents have had a good perception of sexual education, shown with an average score of 37,964 and an attainment rate of 74.4% that is in the healthy category, and the implications of guidance and counseling services on sexual education in schools have already begun to take effect, but are still not compressive overall. This research aims to find out perceptions of sexual education and barriers and implications in guidance and counseling services in schools. The method used in this study uses a qualitative and qualitative approach, with a sample of 618 respondents from private high schools, public high schools, and vocational schools, and the implementation of focus group discussion whose participants are teachers from high school and vocational school.

Abstract

Hope is one of the dimensions of character strength needed in individual personal development. Various instruments continue to be developed to measure a particular hope. The hope scale instrument must be adapted to each culture and country. However, in Indonesia, there has been no research on the development and validation of the hope scale. This study aimed to develop and validate the Indonesian Hope Scale (IHS) using Rasch's model analysis. Participants in this study are 323 students (99 male and 224 female) aged 13-25 years. This study consisted of junior high school students, senior high school students, college students, and postgraduate students. The results showed that Cronbach's Alpha was in the excellent category with a value is 0.82. The item reliability value is 0.99, and the person reliability value is 0.82. The results of Rasch's analysis show that the psychometric characteristics of the 20 items from the Indonesia Hope Scale can meet the requirements and can be used to measure expectations by professionals.
