Abstract

Sanitation is a critical aspect of public health, particularly in high-contact environments like beauty salons, where hygiene directly impacts both customer safety and staff well-being. This study aims to assess the sanitation practices at Hadi & Co Salon, located in Sekaran Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews and direct observations in May 2025. Three respondent groups were involved: salon owners, beauticians, and customers, providing a comprehensive perspective on the implementation of sanitation measures. The findings indicate that overall, the sanitation practices at Hadi & Co Salon are well-implemented, though further improvements in waste management and building maintenance are necessary to meet higher health and safety standards.

Abstract

Employing valid and reliable instruments aligned with the student population’s characteristics is essential. This study aimed to analyze the requirements of student assessment instruments in the Cosmetology Education study program to support the development of Rasch Model learning modules. The present study comprised 20 students enrolled in the cosmetology education program at Semarang University, who were selected based on purposive sampling. The research data were collected through observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), and documentation using observation sheets, FGD guides, and smartphones. The present study employed the stages of data analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman to analyze the research data obtained. The findings of the analysis demonstrated that the assessment instrument for cosmetology education students needs to be developed to support the Rasch Model module. It is anticipated that lecturers who wish to develop student assessment instruments will consider this research.

Abstract

The main problems faced by people with disabilities in roemah difabel semarang are the lack of knowledge and skills in applying makeup, limited access to skills education, and economic difficulties. This problem is the main reason for the implementation of this community service activity, with the aim of creating a more productive and sustainable life. This activity aims to provide comprehensive training to people with disabilities in roemah difabel, so that they can understand and apply the right techniques in doing makeup. The methods chosen to implement this community service are as follows: 1) lectures and questions and answers are used when providing material about makeup and technology, 2). practical methods are used when the resource person or speaker practices the steps in applying makeup, then the trainees are asked to practice applying makeup that has been practiced by the resource person with guidance from the resource person and students of the community service team. 3) monitoring and evaluation to assess participants' understanding and skills. The results of this activity ran smoothly and without obstacles, with the enthusiasm of persons with disabilities reflecting increased knowledge and skills in applying makeup. This activity succeeded in improving the quality of makeup according to appropriate techniques, thus having a positive impact on the training participants.

Abstract

Kosmetik dekoratif menjadi bagian penting bagi kehidupan saat ini terutama untuk wanita. Salah satu kosmetik yang sering digunakan adalah blush on. Blush on memiliki warna yang merona sehingga menimbulkan kesan estetika pada wajah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pustaka analisis karakteristik formula blush on dengan pewarna alami sebagai kosmetik dekoratif. Metode yang digunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi pustaka. Berbagai ekstrak alami, seperti umbi bit merah, kulit buah melinjo, bunga mawar merah, terong belanda, kubis merah, dan bunga telang, diuji untuk melihat karakteristik tekstur, pigmentasi, serta ketahanannya dalam produk kosmetik tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak umbi bit merah dan bunga mawar merah memiliki hasil yang optimal, dengan ketahanan warna dan daya lekat yang baik. Sementara itu, ekstrak kulit melinjo dan kubis merah menunjukkan hasil yang kurang memadai dan memerlukan penyempurnaan formulasi. Penggunaan bahan alami ini menawarkan solusi kosmetik yang lebih aman, ramah lingkungan, sekaligus memberikan manfaat tambahan bagi kesehatan kulit.

Abstract

Research and development is a test model that is expected to determine these holes. Instruments are tools used to collect information or data. Assessment is a movement to obtain data about how something functions, which is then used to determine ideal decisions in navigation. Characterizes assessment as an evaluation cycle that is linked to student implementation and work results. Before making a decision, evaluation is the process of determining what information is needed and collecting and utilizing that information. Advanced research strategies are techniques used to create specific items and assess their adequacy. Then again, to make a particular item, it is necessary to investigate the needs and test the suitability of the item. Innovative punishment embraces rationality and convenience simultaneously. Inventive reasoning can be considered as a combination of consistent and differentiated reasoning to produce something new. This oddity indicates imaginative reasoning in arithmetic, whereas the different signs are associated with coherent and differentiated reasoning.

Abstract

Creative thinking is an essential skill that needs to be developed from an early age. The absence of valid and reliable instruments poses major challenges in identifying and enhancing students’ creative thinking skills in elementary school mathematics learning. This study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of a creative thinking assessment instrument for elementary school mathematics subjects. A quantitative approach was employed with five expert validators and 150 research participants selected through total sampling. The research instruments included expert validation sheets and a creative thinking assessment instrument for elementary mathematics. Data were analyzed using several methods: Aiken’s V for content validity, Rasch model analysis for dimensionality, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) for construct validity, Ebel’s formula for inter-rater reliability, and Cronbach’s Alpha for internal consistency reliability. The results showed that the creative thinking assessment instrument was valid and reliable, indicating that it can be used as an accurate measurement tool to identify students’ creative thinking skills. The findings of this study serve as a valuable reference for educators in evaluating creative thinking and provide a foundation for developing more innovative learning strategies in mathematics education.

Abstract

Faktor psikologis yang dapat memengaruhi kesehatan fisik, termasuk kondisi kulit wajah. Mahasiswa merupakan kelompok yang rentan mengalami stres akibat tekanan akademik, sosial, maupun pribadi, yang secara tidak langsung dapat menimbulkan perubahan pada kondisi kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan kondisi kulit wajah pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei melalui kuesioner terstruktur. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat stres dan kondisi kulit wajah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat stres dengan kondisi kulit wajah mahasiswa, di mana semakin tinggi tingkat stres, semakin buruk kondisi kulit yang dialami, seperti munculnya jerawat, kulit kusam, dan sensitivitas kulit. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan stres yang baik melalui gaya hidup sehat, istirahat cukup, serta perawatan kulit yang tepat dapat membantu menjaga kesehatan kulit wajah. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan strategi edukasi mengenai pentingnya keseimbangan psikologis dalam menjaga kesehatan kulit mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the peer teaching method on students’ activeness and understanding in learning haircutting techniques. The background of this research is the low level of student participation and engagement in the learning process, especially in courses that require high practical skills. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through online questionnaires distributed to students of the Beauty Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang from the 2023–2025 cohorts. The results show that the peer teaching method can enhance students’ activeness, motivation, and understanding, as learning is carried out more casually and communicatively among peers. In addition, this method also develops students’ social, communication, and responsibility skills. Therefore, peer teaching is effective to be applied as an active learning strategy in practice-based vocational education.

Abstract

Family management plays a pivotal role in establishing equilibrium between emotional dynamics and communication among family members. The family environment constitutes the primary context in which children learn to interact, communicate, and develop their character. Parental communication patterns, along with their capacity for emotional regulation, serve as critical determinants of a supportive home atmosphere conducive to children’s developmental and educational outcomes. This study aims to examine the influence of communication management and emotional management within the family on the development of children’s emotional intelligence and their overall academic success. This research employs a literature review approach by critically analyzing various sources, including scholarly journals, books, and relevant empirical studies. The findings indicate that effective communication management characterized by openness, empathy, and mutual respect strengthens parent child emotional bonds, enhances learning motivation, and improves academic achievement. Furthermore, sound emotional management enables parents to regulate stress and model appropriate self-control, thereby fostering a harmonious and productive learning environment within the household.

Abstract

Physical motor development is an essential and easily observable indicator of children’s growth. Parental involvement plays a crucial role in optimizing this development, particularly during the child’s golden age. This study aims to analyze the importance of motor development and examine how parents support children’s learning through a developmental psychology perspective. Using a literature review method, the findings reveal that child development is shaped by genetic and environmental factors, while active support from parents and teachers has long-term effects on children’s physical, emotional, and social readiness. Understanding developmental psychology enables parents to provide appropriate stimulation that maximizes children’s potential. Using literature review methods, it was found that motor development is influenced by genetic and environmental factors, while positive interactions between children, parents, and educators contribute to long-term physical, social, and emotional development. A deep understanding of developmental psychology enables parents to design appropriate stimulation strategies to maximize their children's potential.
