Abstract

The purpose of this service is to provide "Training to Increase Body Flexibility Using Passive Stretching Techniques and PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) for PPLP Papua Athletes". The methods used in community service are lectures and demonstrations packaged in the form of training. Participants in this service were 30 PPLP athletes from 12 sports. The place for the dedication is at the student education and training center (PPLP) located in Doyo. The stages in this community service consist of three stages, namely preparation and planning, implementation of community service according to the results of coordination, the third is monitoring and evaluation. Evaluation of activities is carried out by looking at the achievement of the service carried out. The instruments used were questionnaires and direct observation. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics with percentage formulas. The results of the training showed that the participants were able to understand the material presented by the presenter and were able to practice the demonstrations carried out by the presenter.

Abstract

Abstract

Evaluation is an important thing in the training process. To carry out an evaluation, good instruments are needed that are to the sport's specifications. Instruments for measuring training results for early-age martial artists have not yet been developed. Thus, this research aims to compile and test the content validity of the physical test battery for early childhood pencak silat. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with survey techniques using the Delphi method. The subjects in this research are two physical conditioning experts, two pencak silat experts, one child development expert, and two pencak silat trainers. he data collection technique in this research used the Delphi technique. The content validation test used the Aiken V formula with the help of 7 experts consisting of 2 physical condition experts, 2 pencak silat experts, 1 child development expert, and 2 pencak silat trainers. The results show flexibility using sit and rich has a validity value of 1, speed using the 30-meter sprint has a validity value of 1, strength using push-ups has a validity value of 0.95, sit-ups have a validity value of 1, and wall sits a validity value of 1, agility using the shuttle run has a validity value of 0.95, and aerobic endurance using the beep test has a validity value of 0.76.The overall content validity of the test instrument is 0.9. Thus, it can be concluded that the physical test battery for early childhood pencak silat has high content validity.   The reliability and norms of the early-age pencak silat physical test battery have not been tested. So it is important to test the instrument's reliability and prepare physical test norms for early-age pencak silat in future research.

Abstract

Background. Achievement motivation plays a crucial role in the performance of martial arts athletes and should be closely monitored and assessed by coaches. However, the absence of a specific instrument to measure achievement motivation in Setia Hati Terate athletes has made it difficult for coaches to evaluate their athletes"™ motivational levels effectively. Objectives. This study is part of a broader evaluation aimed at testing the validity and reliability of an achievement motivation questionnaire specifically designed for adult Pencak Silat practitioners. Methods. The study involved 162 participants, comprising 79 male and 83 female martial artists. A research instrument is a tool used to gather data in order to address research problems or meet study objectives. If the collected data are not accurate (i.e., valid), any conclusions or decisions based on them will also be flawed. In this study, a closed-ended questionnaire consisting of 14 items was used. Data analysis was conducted using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). CFA conclusions are drawn based on various fit indices, including chi-square (χ ²), degrees of freedom (df), Comparative Fit Index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI), Goodness-of-Fit Index (GFI), Standardized Root Mean Residual (SRMR), Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA), factor loading (λ), Average Variance Extracted (AVE), and Cronbach's alpha. Results. According to the fit indices shown, the chi-square test yielded a p-value < 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between the factors. These indicators confirm the model"™s good fit. Further analysis of factor loadings and reliability metrics indicates that the instrument is both valid and reliable, supporting its use in assessing achievement motivation among adult martial arts practitioners. Conclusion. Achievement motivation is essential for martial artists striving to reach their full potential. Therefore, evaluating motivation levels should be an integral part of every stage in the training program, using instruments that are both valid and reliable. This study serves as a foundation for the ongoing development of assessment tools in the martial arts field.

Abstract

This study used a survey approach to determine the fitness and health conditions of retired martial artists and the relationship between the two. A total of 33 subjects, consisting of 17 retired male martial artists and 16 retired female martial artists, participated in this study. The instruments used in this study were a fitness test battery and the General Health Questionnaire 12 (GHQ-12). The fitness test battery consisted of five test items, namely Body Mass Index (BMI), sit and reach (flexibility), 1-minute push-ups (arm and chest muscle strength), 1-minute sit-ups (abdominal muscle strength), and a 12-minute run (cardiovascular endurance). The data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive statistics, percentage formulas, and correlations. The analysis was performed using MS Excel and JASP. Nearly half of retired martial artists, both female and male, had poor physical fitness levels, while the majority of retired martial artists showed signs of psychological distress. There is a relationship between fitness levels and the psychological health of retired martial artists. The results of this study indicate the importance of developing educational programs for retired athletes to maintain physical fitness and psychological health in future studies.
