Abstract

The research aims to know and analyze the impact of business risk and capital structure on the growth of sea transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020. Some of the problems encountered in this study, among others, namely, high business risk can reduce company growth, high capital structure can reduce company growth and also high debt to shipping companies can lead to difficulties in determining the composition of capital structure. Path analysis is used to test the hypothesis proposed in this study by using the Partial Least Square application. The total sample of 45 consisted of nine companies with a five-year observation period taken by purposive sampling technique. The results showed: business risk has no impact on firm growth, capital structure has no direct impact on company growth, business risk has a positive and significant direct impact on capital structure, and business risk does not directly impact company growth through capital structure mediation. The study concludes that business risk positively impacts capital structure, so the declining capital structure decreases business risk.

Abstract

The low discipline of some individuals in implementing health protocols during the pandemic has become a challenging task for the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP). The indifferent and unconcerned attitude in heeding health protocols makes the enforcement process not conducive and has implications for officers' low level of patience. This community service activity aims to provide education on friendly service as a solution to changing the behavior of some Satpol PP officers who are unfriendly into a friendly unit in the eyes of the public. The activity was implemented at the DKI Pemda office, located in Petogogan, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta, involving twenty members, all male. The educational method was implemented in two ways: material presentation and direct field practice. The results of this education can change the mindset of regional apparatuses who are considered arrogant to officers who have a spirit of service to the community. This activity can be a reference to continue from friendly service to excellent service.

Abstract

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) records that the economic growth in Lampung Province has experienced a lower growth rate compared to the national economic growth. This condition is exacerbated by the lack of development in existing infrastructure, especially provincial roads that have suffered severe damage. In this context, the provision of toll road infrastructure becomes crucial in regional development as it serves as a means to facilitate and support community activities. This study aims to analyze the differences in the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of transportation and warehousing, tourism, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, Regional Original Income (PAD), and economic growth of districts in Lampung Province before and after the existence of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road. The research method used is a quantitative approach using five variables, namely Transportation and Warehousing, Tourism, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Regional Original Income, and Economic Growth. Secondary data related to these variables were collected, especially those related to transportation and warehousing, tourism, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, regional original income, and economic growth. The study involved six Districts/Cities in Lampung Province traversed by the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road, namely South Lampung, Central Lampung, Mesuji, Pesawaran, Tulang Bawang, and West Tulang Bawang. Observation samples were collected for 4 years before and 4 years after the existence of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road for the period 2015-2022. The collected data was then processed using SPSS Ver. 26 software. The results of the study indicate that the existence of the Trans-Sumatra toll road in several districts of Lampung Province has a significant impact on various economic sectors and Regional Original Income (PAD). The presence of significant average differences indicates that the Trans-Sumatra toll road has had a considerable impact on the economic sector and Regional Original Income in the mentioned districts.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of service innovation on customer satisfaction, with customer value acting as an intervening variable at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. This research focuses on three primary variables: Service Innovation (X1), Customer Value (Z), Customer Satisfaction (Y). This study uses quantitative research methods with Sem-PLS analysis techniques, with data collected from100 respondents who had experience using airport technology services on both international and local flights. These findings reveal that Service Innovation (X1) positively affects both Customer Satisfaction (Y) and Customer Value (Z). Moreover, Customer Value (Z) significantly influences Customer Satisfaction (Y). The results also demonstrate that Service Innovation (X1) has an indirect positive effect on Customer Satisfaction (Y) through Customer Value (Z). This research highlights the importance of service innovation in improving the overall customer experience and value perception, thus enhancing passenger satisfaction at airports.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road on regional economic growth and local government revenue in Lampung Province, Indonesia. Using panel data from six districts for the period 2013–2022, this research employs a quantitative approach to analyze the relationships among transportation and warehousing, tourism, agriculture–forestry–fisheries sectors, local government revenue, and economic growth. The empirical results indicate that transportation and warehousing significantly and positively influence both local government revenue and regional economic growth, while local government revenue also exhibits a significant positive effect on economic growth. Conversely, tourism and agriculture–forestry–fisheries sectors do not show a significant direct impact on economic growth, although tourism contributes significantly to local government revenue. Furthermore, transportation and warehousing indirectly affect economic growth through local government revenue, highlighting the mediating role of fiscal capacity in infrastructure-led development. These findings suggest that transportation infrastructure plays a crucial role in enhancing regional economic performance and fiscal capacity, whereas sectoral diversification and value-added strategies are required to strengthen the contributions of tourism and primary sectors. The study provides policy implications for regional governments in optimizing infrastructure investment to foster sustainable regional development.   Keywords: Transportation Infrastructure, Local Government Revenue, Economic Growth, Regional Development, Panel Data

Abstract

This study examines the effects of the transportation and warehousing sector, tourism, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries on economic growth, with Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD) serving as an intervening variable in regencies traversed by the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) in Lampung Province. The research covers six regencies—South Lampung, Central Lampung, Mesuji, Pesawaran, Tulang Bawang, and West Tulang Bawang—over the period 2020–2024, producing a balanced panel dataset of 30 observations. Panel data regression is applied using the Random Effects Model (REM), selected through Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests. The mediating role of PAD is analyzed using the Sobel test. The results indicate that transportation and warehousing have a positive and statistically significant effect on economic growth. Similarly, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries also show a positive and significant direct effect on economic growth. In contrast, tourism exhibits a negative and significant direct effect, suggesting limited multiplier effects during the observation period. PAD does not have a statistically significant direct effect on economic growth. In the PAD model, only agriculture, forestry, and fisheries demonstrate a positive and significant influence, while transportation and warehousing and tourism do not significantly affect regional revenue. Mediation analysis reveals that PAD significantly mediates the relationship between transportation and warehousing and economic growth, as well as between agriculture and economic growth. However, PAD does not mediate the effect of tourism on economic growth. Overall, the findings suggest that the economic impact of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road in Lampung Province operates primarily through improvements in logistics efficiency and enhanced agricultural distribution networks, with selective fiscal transmission effects. These results highlight the importance of integrating infrastructure development with sectoral upgrading and effective fiscal management to ensure sustainable and inclusive regional economic growth.
