Abstract

The increasingly diverse needs of society have made financing the most popular banking service product. KPR products certainly require a marketing strategy. One of the interesting products offered by BRI Syariah Tambun Sub-Branch Office (KCP) is the Home Ownership Financing/Mortgage (KPR) product. This research aims to determine the marketing strategy for Mortgage Financing (KPR) between two banks, namely Conventional Banks and Sharia Banks at Bank BRI KCP Tambun and BRISyariah KCP Tambun. The data sources used are primary and secondary. Data collection was carried out using interview and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that KPR products at Bank BRI and BRI Syariah, in their implementation, apply similar marketing strategies. At Bank BRI, in implementing its marketing strategy, it takes a conventional approach by referring to the strategy of providing interest and using a credit approach with low interest; it places more emphasis on KPR marketing strategies, which tend to prioritize Islamic principles. Managerial implications emerge from the comparative analysis, shedding light on the strengths and weaknesses of each approach.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the development of the world economy, including the banking and financial services industry. One of the financing products at Bank BTN Syariah is the Home Ownership Financing-Mortgage (Sharia KPR), where the more financing funds are channeled, of course, the greater the potential for risk. The purpose of this study was to formulate a risk management strategy for Sharia KPR products that Bank BTN Syariah KC Bekasi can use during the Covid-19 pandemic. To analyze and develop the bank strategy, we use the Grand Strategy Matrix method by blending internal and external factors, where the analysis and strategy selection process is divided into three stages: Input stage, matching stage, and Decision stage. The results of the study showed that several internal and external factors occur in Bank BTN Sharia KC Bekasi that affect the development of Sharia KPR products; Bank BTN applies risk management based on the 5C principle to minimize the occurrence of risks that may occur. Managerial implications of this research are credit risk management, management, increased risk monitoring, effective communication, product innovation, conducting education and training, and Sharia compliance.

Abstract

This study evaluates the business and social performance of Indonesian Islamic Banking using the Islamicity Performance Index from 2020 to 2022. Business performance is measured through the Profit Sharing Ratio (PSR) and Islamic Income vs. Non-Islamic Income Ratio (IIR), while social performance is assessed using the Zakat Performance Ratio (ZPR) and Equitable Distribution Ratio (EDR). A purposive sampling method was employed, selecting 12 Indonesian Islamic banks, with data sourced from their Annual Reports. The research applies a quantitative methodology, analyzing data through multiple linear regression using SPSS 22. The study identifies Zakat Performance Ratio (ZPR) as the sole variable positively affecting profitability (ROA), while PSR, IIR, and EDR have no significant impact. The findings underscore the importance of integrating Sharia principles into operational practices. The managerial implications suggest that Sharia bank management should focus on improving ZPR by emphasizing equitable wealth distribution and adherence to Islamic values to enhance profitability. This study provides valuable insights for the Islamic banking sector, emphasizing the need for a holistic approach that aligns with the Islamicity Performance Index to achieve both financial and social objectives.

Abstract

This study analyzes and compares the social performance of Islamic banking in Indonesia using the Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) Index. The ISR Index assesses the extent to which Islamic banks disclose social responsibilities in line with Islamic principles. This research focuses on two Islamic business units BTN Syariah and CIMB Niaga Syariah through content analysis of their annual and sustainability reports. Using a descriptive-comparative approach and secondary data, the study evaluates ISR dimensions such as environmental responsibility, social responsibility, Sharia compliance, and other relevant aspects. The findings reveal a difference in transparency between the two banks. CIMB Niaga Syariah scored higher in several ISR dimensions, indicating a stronger commitment to Sharia-compliant social reporting. Nonetheless, both banks show positive development in improving their social disclosure. These results have significant implications for Islamic banking practitioners and regulators, encouraging greater transparency, accountability, and the formulation of effective social reporting strategies aligned with Sharia values. Furthermore, the study serves as a useful reference for other Islamic financial institutions aiming to enhance their social performance and better meet stakeholder expectations through more comprehensive and responsive reporting practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the financial performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia using the Sharia Conformity and Profitability (SCnP) method. Sharia Conformity measures a bank's level of compliance with sharia principles, while profitability assesses a bank's ability to generate profits. The data used are the financial performance reports of Islamic Commercial Banks registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2023. SCnP indicators include sharia-compliant product structures and compliance with the National Sharia Council (DSN) fatwas, while profitability is assessed through Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). The results show that Bank Muamalat Indonesia and Bank Aceh Syariah are in the URQ quadrant, with Sharia Conformity levels of 75% and 79%, respectively. In terms of profitability, Bank Aceh Syariah performed 67.15% higher than Bank Muamalat Indonesia at 1.37%. This finding indicates a positive correlation between sharia compliance and profitability, where increased sharia conformity can strengthen financial performance. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of strategies that focus on sharia compliance to support the growth and competitiveness of sharia banks in Indonesia.
