Abstract

This study aims to describe the reading interest of fifth-grade students at State Elementary School 23 Singkawang and identify the factors influencing their reading interest. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews (with students, teachers, the principal, and the librarian), and documentation. The results indicate that the majority of fifth-grade students have a moderate level of reading interest. Internal factors influencing reading interest include reading ability, reading habits, and motivation. Meanwhile, external factors encompass family environment (parental support), the availability of books and library facilities, and the influence of technology. The study concludes that efforts to enhance reading interest should consider both internal and external factors of students, as well as involve schools, families, and the positive use of technology.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the difference in students' learning interests between classroom learning using the everyone is a teacher here strategy assisted by spinning wheels and classroom learning using direct learning; (2) describe the magnitude of the influence of the Everyone is a Teacher Here learning strategy on interest student learning in Pancasila education learning; (3) describe the students' response to the implementation of the Everyone is a Teacher Here strategy assisted by a spinning wheel in Pancasila Education learning. This research used is quantitative or experimental research. The population in this study were students in classes VA and VB with 30 students. The sampling technique is total sampling / saturated sampling technique, the sample in this study were students in classes VA and VB at SDN 24 Singkawang, totaling 30 students. The data collection technique in this research is in the form of an adapted student learning interest questionnaire from Trisna (2021) and an adapted student response questionnaire from Timara (2021). The data analysis technique is demonstrated by carrying out a t test on the first problem formulation, an effect size test on the second problem formulation and carrying out descriptive percentages on the third problem formulation. The results of the research show that (1) there are differences in students' learning interest between classes with the everyone is a teacher here learning strategy assisted by spinning wheel media and direct classes, (2) the influence of the everyone is a teacher here strategy assisted by spinning wheel media on students' learning interest is in the medium category, and (3) positive student responses to the implementation of the everyone is a teacher here strategy assisted by spinning wheel media on students' interest in learning in Pancasila Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas lima madrasah ibtidaiyah antara kelas yang menerapkan metode Preview Question Read reflect Recite Review (PQ4R) dan kelas yang menggunakan metode ekspositori konvensional, mengukur sejauh mana pengaruh metode PQ4R terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa, serta menjelaskan peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah penerapan metode PQ4R. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu yang dilaksanakan di madrasah ibtidaiyah Unggulan Ushuluddin Singkawang dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas lima sebanyak 127 siswa. Sampel terdiri atas 30 siswa kelas lima A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 35 siswa kelas lima B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar soal keterampilan membaca pemahaman, sedangkan teknik analisis data meliputi uji-t, effect size, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam keterampilan membaca pemahaman antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan nilai t-hitung 3,6856 > t-tabel 1,9983. Pengaruh metode PQ4R terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman sangat tinggi dengan nilai effect size 0,99, yang terlihat dari rata-rata nilai siswa di kelas eksperimen sebesar 74,53 dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol sebesar 61,37. Perbedaan perlakuan ini menjadi faktor utama yang memengaruhi hasil pada kedua kelas. Selain itu, keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah penerapan metode PQ4R mengalami peningkatan dengan indeks N-Gain sebesar 0,48, yang berada dalam kategori sedang (0,3 < N-Gain < 0,7). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode PQ4R berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas lima madrasah ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Bamboo Dancing learning model assisted by Wordwall media on the cognitive learning outcomes of fifth-grade students. This research employed a quantitative experimental method with a quasi-experimental design. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students, totaling 42 students, and the sample was determined using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using test and non-test techniques. The test instrument was an essay-type cognitive learning outcome test consisting of five questions on the “food chain” topic, while the non-test instrument was a student activity observation sheet. Data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test, effect size calculation, and percentage of student activity. The results showed that: (1) there was a significant difference in students’ cognitive learning outcomes between the class using the Bamboo Dancing model assisted by Wordwall and the class using direct instruction, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.002 < 0.05; (2) the Bamboo Dancing model assisted by Wordwall had a strong effect on students’ cognitive learning outcomes, with an effect size of 1.035 (high category); and (3) student activity during learning reached 82.14%, categorized as very active. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Bamboo Dancing model assisted by Wordwall positively influences students’ cognitive science learning outcomes in fifth grade.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the hard-working character of fifth-grade students at SDN 12 Singkawang and to examine their scientific literacy skills. It also aims to identify the relationship between the hard-working character and scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 12 Singkawang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method and an associative correlational research design. The population of this study consisted of all fifth-grade students, divided into two classes, VA and VB, totaling 60 students. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. The data collection instruments were questionnaires and essay tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis. The results showed that the average score of the students’ hard-working character was 67.23, which falls into the “good” category. Meanwhile, the average score of students’ scientific literacy skills was 80, categorized as “high.” The correlation analysis revealed a significant relationship between the hard-working character and the scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 12 Singkawang, with a determinant coefficient of 17.64% and a t-value of 3.516, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.002.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu: 1) Mendeskripsikan tingkat perhatian orang tua siswa kelas tinggi SD Negeri 08 Singkawang, 2) Mendeskripsikan tingkat kedisiplinan belajar siswa kelas tinggi di SD Negeri 08 Singkawang, 3) Menganalisis hubungan antara perhatian orang tua dengan kedisiplinan belajar siswa kelas tinggi di SD Negeri 08 Singkawang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas tinggi di SD Negeri 8 Singkawang yang berjumlah 184 siswa. Populasi tersebut diambil sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling, sehingga sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 184 siswa. Teknik pengumpul data dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik angket, dengan instrumen penelitian angket perhatian orang tua berjumlah 20 pernyataan dan angket kedisiplinan belajar berjumlah 20 pernyataan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu persentase dan korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat perhatian orang tua berada pada kategori tinggi (78,8%), dan tingkat kedisplinan siswa berada pada kategori sangat tinggi (82,3%). Perhatian orang tua memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan kedisiplinan siswa (r =0,452, p < 0,05).

Abstract

This research aims to describe the influence of the CIRC learning model assisted by Big Book teaching aids on the writing skills of class III students at SD Negeri 17 Singkawang. The type of research was quantitative research using the Quasi Experimental method, Posttest Only Nonequivalent Groups Design. The population of this study was all class III students consisting of classes IIIA, IIIB, and IIIC, totaling 86 students. The sample in this study was selected using a purposive sampling technique consisting of class IIIB as the control class and IIIC as the experimental class, each with 28 students. The data collection technique used an essay test technique which contains indicators of writing skills and observation techniques for learning implementation. The data analysis technique used a independent two sample t-test, effect size, and percentage of learning implementation. The results of the research showed that (1) there was differences in the writing skills of third grade elementary school students between classes that use the CIRC model assisted by Big Book teaching aids and classes that use direct learning with the calculation results showing namely 14.068 > 1.674; (2) the CIRC learning model assisted by Big Book teaching aids had a high influence on the writing skills of third grade elementary school students with an effect size calculation result of 2.36; (3) implementation of the CIRC learning model assisted by Big Book teaching aids in learning energy source material with a percentage of 92.71% in very good criteria. Thus, it could be concluded that there was an influence of the CIRC model assisted by Big teaching aids on the writing skills of class III students at SD Negeri 17 Singkawang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendeskripsikan kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas V SD dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika pada materi perkalian dan pembagian pecahan, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan tersebut, berlandaskan pada teori Newman. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari 22 siswa kelas V SDN 82 Singkawang. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes soal cerita matematika dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik yang diusulkan oleh Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan siswa dapat dikategorikan dalam empat indikator: pemahaman (17 siswa kesulitan menterjemahkan bahasa soal ke dalam kalimat matematika), transformasi (15 siswa tidak dapat menentukan operasi hitung yang tepat), keterampilan proses (18 siswa gagal menjalankan operasi hitung dengan benar), dan penulisan jawaban akhir (16 siswa tidak menuliskan kesimpulan akhir dengan teliti). Penyebab kesalahan ini terbagi menjadi faktor internal dan eksternal. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran matematika yang lebih efektif di sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam menangani kesalahan siswa dan memperbaiki pemahaman mereka tentang materi perkalian dan pembagian pecahan.

Abstract

In community service activities, the State University of Malang is now partnering with Sambigede Village, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency, East Java. Sambigede Situated within the beautiful landscape of the region, this village is characterized by its serene environment and close-knit community. With a population primarily engaged in agriculture and small-scale enterprises, Sambigede retains its traditional charm while gradually embracing modern developments. One of the livelihoods of the residents in Sambigede Village is farming, especially cattle and goats. Therefore, the need for grass for animal feed is increasing. One of the obstacles faced by the residents of Sambigede Village is the feed preparation time, especially during the grass-chopping process still uses the manual method. So if the grass takes a long time and energy. This problem can solve by using Appropriate Technology (TTG) for grass-chopping machines to help the role of residents in the grass-chopping process. It's hoped that after the grass-chopping machines, the residents of Sambigede Village can further improve the quality of livestock feed and increase the effectiveness of time during the grass-chopping process.

Abstract

This research aims: 1) To determine differences in students' ability to understand science concepts; 2) To find out how big the influence of the think talk write learning model is with the aid of the digestive board props; 3) To find out students' responses to the think talk write learning model with the help of class V teaching aids at SDN 23 Singkawang. The research method used is a quantitative research approach. The research design used in this research is Quasi Experimental design. The population in this study was all class V students. The research design was cluster sampling, totaling 27 people. Data collection techniques in this research used tests and non-tests. The test instrument is a concept understanding ability test, and the non-test uses a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses a two-sample t test with a significance level of 5% (0.05) and the Effect Size test using Excel. The results of this research show that; 1) The difference in the ability to understand science concepts of students in the Ha category was accepted at 9.71%; 2) The influence of the Think Talk Write Model assisted by the digestive board is in the medium category with a total of 0.43; 3) There is a positive response from students in the very good category, a percentage of 83.56%. It can be concluded that there is an influence of the Think talk write model assisted by a digestive board on students' ability to understand science concepts.
