Abstract

Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni plays an important role as an icon of Medan City as well as a tourist destination that attracts visitors due to its historical value and beauty, contributing to the development of the local tourism industry. From January to April 2025, the number of tourist visits to this site fluctuated, which became the main focus of this study. Factors influencing tourists’ decisions to visit include tourism image and tourist attractions, considered key aspects in visitor preferences. This study aims to analyze the effect of tourism image and tourist attractions on the decision to visit Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni in Medan. The research employed a quantitative method, collecting primary data through survey questionnaires and literature review. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and calculation of the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) with a sample of 100 respondents. The results of the multiple linear regression showed a positive effect, with regression coefficients of 0.315 for tourism image and 0.845 for tourist attractions. The t-test results indicated t-values of 2.884 (p=0.005) for tourism image and 12.932 (p=0.001) for tourist attractions. The F-test produced an F-value of 100.429 with a significance of 0.001. These findings confirm that tourism image and tourist attractions have a positive and significant influence, both partially and simultaneously, on tourists’ decisions to visit Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni in Medan.

Abstract

Monitoring changes in peat swamp forest biodiversity is a necessity for identifying and accounting for the impacts of various factors that cause degradation and deforestation. Information on the condition of this biodiversity can be obtained using Landsat 8 Imagery. This imagery allows for a more efficient, effective, and systematic analysis of changes in vegetation density. This study aimed to assess the dynamic changes in peat swamp forest biodiversity over approximately the last 10 years. The research findings indicate that the rates of degradation and deforestation (16.86%) are higher than the rate of regrowth (6.27%)5. This suggests that the ecosystem's condition is experiencing a significant decline. This decline is characterized by a tendency for the diversity, richness, and evenness of flora species to decrease. The study concludes that the floristic dynamics at the Rungan sub-watershed have declined, which can also affect the existence and habitat of its fauna.

Abstract

The large contribution of the kelulut honey business to the income of households or farmer families can help family income. Bahu Palawa Village has formed a Social Forestry Business Group (KUPS) that cultivates kelulut honey, but until now it is not clear how the contribution of the kelulut honey business to the income of farmer groups in Bahu Palawa Village. This study was conducted to see how much contribution kelulut honey cultivation makes to the household income of farmers in Bahu Palawa Village. This study aims to analyze the contribution of income from the kelulut honey business and analyze the problems faced by the Kelulut honey KUPS in Bahu Palawa Village. The method used is a census of KUPS members as many as 17 respondents where their income and income will be analyzed. The results obtained from the research conducted are the income of members in KUPS with an average of Rp. Rp.1.088.259/family/year with a total of 17 members. The income of members outside the KUPS is honey kelulut with an average of Rp.6.294.118/family/year. The contribution of income in KUPS from 17 members of the contribution group of 1.74% is included in the very insufficient category. The problems faced include uncertain weather factors such as high rainfall that reduces bee activities, obstacles in marketing due to lack of market reach and effective promotional strategies, and business management that is still simple with limitations in production planning, human resources, raw materials, and business capital.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan media ajar digital menjadi salah satu upaya penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di tingkat sekolah menengah pertama. Namun, keterbatasan kompetensi guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran digital masih menjadi kendala. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru SMP Dharma Pancasila Medan dalam membuat media ajar digital berbasis Flip Book menggunakan aplikasi Heyzine. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan aplikatif yang menekankan keterlibatan langsung peserta melalui pembelajaran aktif (active learning), meliputi tahap analisis kebutuhan, penyampaian materi, praktik dan pendampingan, serta evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata peserta dari 73,21 pada pretest menjadi 90,71 pada posttest, disertai peningkatan nilai minimum dan maksimum serta penurunan variasi nilai antar peserta. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam pengembangan media ajar digital. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong inovasi pembelajaran dan pemanfaatan teknologi digital secara berkelanjutan di SMP Dharma Pancasila Medan.
