Abstract

Arar Village, located in Sorong Regency, has abundant marine resource potential, especially in the catch of cassia shrimp. However, the cassia shrimp processing process still faces obstacles, especially in the drying stage, which is carried out traditionally, thus affecting the quality of the product. This study aims to improve the quality and cleanliness of cassia shrimp processed products through the application of stainless steel drying tables. The implementation method of this community service is carried out in three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and the final stage. The preparation stage involves coordination with the local government, situation analysis, and identification of community needs. At the implementation stage, education and training are carried out on the use of stainless steel drying tables, as well as direct practice simulations for the community. The final stage involves evaluating activities through questionnaires and interviews to measure the success of the training. The results of the community service show that the use of stainless steel drying tables improves the quality of cassia shrimp by maintaining cleanliness, reducing bacterial contamination, and extending shelf life. In addition, this training increases community knowledge about the importance of using hygienic tools in fisheries processing. In the future, it is hoped that this technology can be widely accepted by the Arar Village community to support increased productivity and more sustainable fisheries-based economic welfare.

Abstract

Household waste management in Sorong Regency, especially in Arar Village, faces major challenges in reducing negative impacts on the environment. One effective solution is processing organic waste into liquid organic fertilizer (POC). This fertilizer not only reduces the amount of waste but can also increase soil fertility and support more sustainable agriculture. The Community Service Program (PKM) implemented in Arar Village aims to provide training to the community, farmer groups, and PKK mothers on how to make POC from household waste. The methods used in this program include socialization, training, and direct practice of making liquid organic fertilizer using natural ingredients and bioactivators such as EM4. After the training, 80 percent of participants successfully applied the knowledge gained to produce liquid organic fertilizer, which has been proven to increase agricultural yields and support environmental sustainability. The evaluation results show that this program provides significant benefits in reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers and increasing public awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly waste management.

Abstract

The Della Village Coastal Community Empowerment Program aims to increase community resilience to natural disasters through mitigation activities and evacuation infrastructure development. Implementation methods include initial survey, needs mapping, evacuation route construction, disaster mitigation training, evacuation simulations, and monitoring and evaluation. Activities were carried out participatively, involving the community, village government, and university students. Pretest results showed community knowledge on disaster mitigation was low, ranging from 25% to 40%. After training and simulation, posttest results increased significantly to 70–80%, showing improved understanding and preparedness. Beyond increasing knowledge, the activity encouraged collective awareness, social responsibility, and practical skills in dealing with emergencies. The evacuation infrastructure strengthened the village's physical readiness for potential earthquakes and tsunamis. The program proved the effectiveness of educational and participatory approaches in building disaster-resilient communities in remote coastal areas. Overall, the activity helped strengthen adaptive capacity and sustainability of community-based mitigation in Della Village

The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of the transmigration program on improving the community economy in the Aimas District, Sorong Regency. This research uses quantitative research methods. Data analysis in this research is a normality test, reliability and validity test, and simple regression analysis. The research results show that the influence of transmigrants is 77.4% on improving the community's economy, while 23.6% is influenced by other factors not examined in this research. The Transmigrant variable has a positive effect on economic improvement. The regression coefficient value for the Transmigrant variable is 0.100, which indicates that the Transmigrant variable has a positive effect on economic improvement. Through simple linear regression analysis, it turns out that the relationship that occurs is a positive influence relationship. Through analysis of the coefficient of determination, it turns out that transmigration has an effect of 59.9% because transmigration has a good effect on the socio-economic life of the community in the Aimas District, Sorong Regency.
