Abstract

Social media has become one of the main sources of information for students in learning about education and careers. This study aims to determine the effect of social media use on the career choices of 11th grade students at Sultan Agung 01 Islamic High School in Semarang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 152 students selected through simple random sampling. The instruments used were a social media usage scale and a career choice scale. Data analysis used a simple linear regression test with the help of SPSS version 22. The results showed a significant negative influence between social media usage and students' career choices, with a correlation coefficient of -0.465 and a significance of 0.000. The regression equation obtained, Y = 175.743 – 1.016X, shows that an increase in social media use is associated with a decrease in the accuracy of career choice, which is likely influenced by the dominance of non-educational content. These findings indicate that the higher the use of social media, the lower the accuracy of students' career choices. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen digital literacy and the role of guidance and counseling services by integrating social media as a means of targeted and educational career guidance, rather than limiting its use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of teachers’ work motivation on learning community activities at junior high schools in Sub Rayon 04, Grobogan Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving a population of 215 teachers and a sample of 140 teachers selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS for Windows version 28. The results showed that teachers’ work motivation was in the good category, indicating that most teachers had a positive drive in performing their duties. Statistical analysis revealed a very strong relationship between work motivation and learning community activities, with a correlation coefficient of 0.785 and a coefficient of determination of 0.564, meaning that 56.4% of the variation in learning community activities was influenced by work motivation, while 43.6% was affected by other factors beyond this study. The regression equation obtained was Ŷ = 31.133 + 0.781X, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on learning community activities. High teacher motivation, whether stemming from internal factors such as responsibility, job satisfaction, and the desire to develop competencies, or from external factors such as principal support and a conducive work environment, has been proven to encourage greater teacher participation in learning communities. Teachers with strong motivation tend to be more active in sharing knowledge, engaging in discussions, and developing instructional innovations.

Abstract

Inclusive education implementation in resource-constrained primary schools requires effective leadership to overcome structural limitations. This study examines how transformational leadership by school principals improves educational services for students with special needs in contexts lacking specialized support personnel. Employing a qualitative case study design, this research investigated transformational leadership implementation at SDN Bergas Lor 02, Semarang Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the principal and six classroom teachers, three-month participant observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis identified patterns across the four transformational leadership dimensions: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The principal systematically enacted transformational leadership through moral exemplarity establishing inclusive culture, inspirational messaging maintaining collective optimism despite resource constraints, facilitation of collaborative professional learning through structured sharing sessions, and differentiated support calibrated to individual teacher and student needs. Unexpected findings revealed the principal's strategic creation of peer mentoring networks and effective reframing of setbacks as learning opportunities. Findings demonstrate that transformational leadership dimensions operate synergistically to maximize human capital when material resources remain limited. The study contributes the concept of "productive recontextualization"—adapting leadership principles to resource-constrained contexts through low-cost mechanisms while maintaining theoretical fidelity. Results suggest leadership development represents a high-leverage strategy for advancing inclusive education in under-resourced settings.
