Abstract

The investigation of family control in enterprises and gender diversity has emerged as a compelling area of study in several nations, such as Indonesia. This research study aims to understand how leverage and tangibility mediate between family control, gender diversity on profitability, and sales growth; using PLS-SEM tools, this quantitative investigation involved 942 companies listed on IDX from the 2019-2021 period for analysis. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling method. The results showed that leverage and tangibility could not significantly mediate between family control, female directors on profitability, and sales growth. These results have implications for owners, management, and directors in that supervisory board characteristics, such as heterogeneity and family control, can influence debt and asset policies and help improve company performance. Abstract

This study investigates the direct and indirect correlation between ethical leadership and lecturers' knowledge-sharing experiences through the mechanism of moral identity. A quantitative approach was used in this research, involving 95 respondents who were permanent lecturers at Lancang Kuning University. Research findings show that ethical leadership is positively related to the act of sharing knowledge, both directly and through moral identity. In addition, the results also show that ethical leadership is positively related to moral identity, while moral identity itself is positively correlated with knowledge sharing. This study also found that moral identity acts as a mediator in the influence of ethical leadership on knowledge-sharing behavior. This research highlights that ethical leadership, which reflects personality, honesty, reliability, and high morality and understands its impact on others, can model behavior and shape employees' moral construction through moral identity. In essence, this research contributes to the expanding body of literature on organizational behavior by shedding light on the intricate dynamics between ethical leadership, moral identity, and knowledge-sharing behaviors among lecturers. Furthermore, it underscores the practical implications for educational institutions seeking to foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and ethical leadership within their academic community.

Abstract

Knowledge-hiding (KH) behavior is of particular concern in organizational and management studies because it can reduce the flow of knowledge and information in organizations. Thus, mechanisms that can minimize this behavior need to be identified, especially from an Islamic perspective. This study seeks to explain how Islamic work ethics may decrease or thwart employees from performing KH. In particular, the current study tries to explain the dual mediation mechanism that underlies this relationship, namely organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and organizational commitment (OC). In order to verify the hypotheses, this study collected data from employees who work at Islamic banks in Pekanbaru City, Riau, Indonesia. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis was employed to verify the hypotheses proposed in the current study. This study revealed that Islamic work ethics can potentially limit or thwart workers from successfully performing their KH. Furthermore, this study found that organizational commitment and OCB mediate the mechanisms underlying the relationship.
