Abstract

This study investigates the educational values embedded in Surah An-Nisa using a thematic approach (maudhū‘ī) and refers primarily to Tafsir Ibn Kathir as a classical exegetical source. The background of this research lies in the urgent need to reintegrate Qur’anic values into the contemporary education system, particularly in light of growing moral crises and the erosion of ethical standards among students. The study aims to explore how Surah An-Nisa, as a chapter rich in legal and social injunctions, contributes to the Islamic educational framework through the lens of classical interpretation. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, where data is collected from primary sources such as the Qur’an and Tafsir Ibn Kathir, alongside secondary sources including books, scholarly articles, and other relevant references on Islamic education. The analysis is conducted thematically by identifying verses that contain educational implications and interpreting them based on the exegetical insights of Ibn Kathir. The findings reveal that Surah An-Nisa offers a wide range of educational values such as justice, gender equity, family integrity, social responsibility, protection of vulnerable groups, and obedience to divine law. These values, as elaborated in Tafsir Ibn Kathir, serve not only as religious commandments but also as moral and social principles that can shape individual behavior and communal harmony. The study concludes that these values are highly relevant for contemporary educational practices and should be integrated into modern Islamic curricula to nurture holistic and ethical learners.

Abstract

The Al-Qur'an is one of the sources of knowledge that has absolute truth. This source of knowledge does not only focus on knowledge about worship and muamalah, but also on scientific insights, namely scientific facts. These scientific cues are found in the verses of the Qur'an which are scattered throughout the surah and are referred to as kauniyah verses. One of the scientific signs explained in the Qur'an is about nerve cells. There are six verses spread across three suras in the Al-Qur'an with an indirect pattern of conveying information so that it requires further study to understand the meaning and scientific signals. The word "naashiyah" contained in the six verses means forelock, it is stated that the forelock is a guarantee for responsibility for dishonorable actions or wrongdoing. Scientific facts about the crown is the part of the front brain that functions as a controller, memory and decision maker, which is called the frontal lobe. The information from these six verses is true that the crown is the place where decisions are made and is the measuring point for the right or wrong decisions taken. Therefore, information from the Koran and scientific facts from research results are integrated with each other and show harmony.

Abstract

Western science and Islamic science are considered different in several aspects. This difference is very visible when Western science arrogantly claims that science is not related to religion and was not born from the church, while Islam believes that science cannot be separated from religion. This can happen because Western science is rooted in ratio while Islamic science is rooted in revelation. This view then gave birth to a dichotomy between general sciences and religious sciences. This is what then encourages Muslim scientists to carry out ijtihad for a paradigma change through the Islamization of science.

Abstract

Science is always associated with general knowledge or science that studies worldly matters only. Some Muslims think that science has nothing to do with Islam or in other words, Islam does not need science. If the Islamic community's opinion about this still exists then Islam is in a danger zone, because Islam actually needs science. Islam and science are not two opposing camps, but rather two very unified camps. If we look deeper, the Koran presents many verses about science. The verses of the Koran about science range from 750 to 1000 verses. In fact, the first revelation that came down to the Prophet Muhammad SAW was the command to read. In the Qur'an, it is explained that paying attention to the universe, which also means studying science, is part of reading the verses of Allah SWT. Meanwhile, the results of research conducted by scientists about the universe do not contradict the Koran which was revealed 1400 years ago. If science and technology are only controlled by non-Muslims, then Muslims will be considered weaker and inferior in the field of science. Therefore, Islam needs the next generation of people who love and understand the contents of the Koran and are not blind to knowledge, especially science. Islam will spread its wings more in the fields of science and technology so that a generation of Muslims who are IMTAQ and SCIENTIFIC will be formed, namely a generation of Muslims who are faithful and devout and master science and technology.

Abstract

Zam-Zam water is water that appeared during the period of Prophet Ismail AS., long before the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Zam-zam water has received direct testimony and justification from the Prophet Muhammad as the best water on earth which contains many benefits. Explicitly, the properties of Zam-Zam water are contained in the hadith, which is considered authentic according to the scholars. This article, in an integrative-interconnective manner, tries to examine the existence of Zam-Zam water through a hadith perspective and a scientific perspective. From a hadith perspective, zam-zam water will be studied using several hadith critical methodologies, both in terms of the text of the hadith (matn) and the transmission of the narrator (sanad). Meanwhile, through a scientific approach, Zam-Zam water will be researched more deeply so that a scientific fact can be found that the substances contained and the molecules that are arranged in Zam-Zam water are better than other substances or water molecules. In this article, this will be proven, among other things, by the results of research by Masaru Emuto, a water expert from Japan, regarding the power of water in general, the magic of Zam-Zam water, and the beauty of the crystals that Zam-Zam water forms. So, the Prophet Muhammad’s justification for Zam-Zam water is embodied by the truth of modern scientific research facts. So it can be said that the agenda to reconcile religion and science is not in vain.

Abstract

Islamic science and Western science are two rich scientific traditions with a long history and significant contributions to science. Despite some similarities, they also have fundamental differences in methodology, epistemology, and goals. Islamic science flourished during the Middle Ages, driven by intellectual curiosity and the urge to understand God's creation. Muslim scientists combined the revelations of the Koran with observations and experiments to produce advances in a variety of fields, including astronomy, mathematics, physics, optics, and medicine. They emphasized the importance of a systematic scientific method, using hypotheses, experiments, and observations to test theories.Western science, on the other hand, emerged in Europe during the Renaissance and Enlightenment. Western science is characterized by its emphasis on rationalism, empiricism, and secularism. Western scientists challenged the authority of religion and tradition, and focused on developing more rigorous scientific methods, such as controlled experiments and testable hypotheses.
