Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the science literacy skills of eighth-grade students at Imelda Private Junior High School Medan on the excretory system material. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design using a quantitative research method. The population in this study consists of all eighth-grade students at Imelda Private Junior High School for the 2024/2025 academic year. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling, comprising two classes: an experimental class with the PjBL model, and a control class with the Direct Instruction model. Data were collected through pre-research observations, interviews with eighth-grade science teachers, and science literacy tests. Since the data assumptions were not met, namely the pretest scores of the experimental class were not normally distributed, a nonparametric test was conducted as an alternative, using the Mann-Whitney test to test the hypothesis and the N-Gain test to measure model effectiveness. The analysis results indicated that there is a significant effect of the PjBL model on students' science literacy abilities on excretory system material with an alpha value ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa kelas VIII SMP Swasta Imelda Medan pada materi sistem ekskresi.

Abstract

ONLINE SALES LAW IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF CONTEMPORARY FIQHThe rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed economic transaction mechanisms, particularly through online buying and selling activities. This study aims to analyze the legal status of online transactions from the perspective of contemporary Islamic jurisprudence by examining the principles of muamalah, the validity of digital contracts, the clarity of transaction objects, the legal responsibilities of involved parties, and the relevance of these practices to the objectives of Islamic law (maqasid al-sharia). This research employs a library-based qualitative method by reviewing classical and contemporary fiqh literature, DSN-MUI fatwas, and regulations concerning digital transactions. The findings indicate that online buying and selling are permissible and valid in Islamic law as long as they fulfill elements of mutual consent, honesty, transparency, and clarity of the transaction object. Digital agreements conducted through approval clicks or electronic messages are recognized as valid forms of al-bay‘ bi al-mu‘āṭah. Furthermore, features such as refunds, returns, and marketplace security systems align with the concept of khiyar in Islamic jurisprudence. From the maqasid al-sharia perspective, digital transactions are allowed as long as they bring benefits and remain free from gharar, tadlis, exploitation, or data misuse. This study concludes that Islamic jurisprudence is dynamic and capable of adapting to contemporary developments, including the challenges of modern digital commerce.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, particularly AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, has fundamentally transformed the ways in which students engage with academic activities in Islamic higher education institutions. This study aims to analyze the patterns of interaction and communication experiences of students at Universitas Islam Bunga Bangsa Cirebon (UI BBC) in utilizing AI chatbots for academic purposes, examined through the theoretical lens of Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research conducted in-depth interviews with ten purposively selected students. The findings identify four principal interaction modalities: transactional-rapid, elaborative-dialogic, productive-generative, and reflective-critical. A distinctive finding reveals that Islamic values such as amanah (trustworthiness) and thalabul ilmi (the pursuit of knowledge) function as ethical moderators in students’ utilization of AI. This study recommends the development of an AI literacy program grounded in Islamic values. In conclusion, AI chatbots have become important communication partners in students’ academic activities, offering both opportunities and challenges for higher education. The study implies the importance of developing value-based AI literacy programs, strengthening ethical awareness, and designing pedagogical strategies that integrate AI technology productively while maintaining academic integrity and Islamic educational values.

Abstract

The wave of digital transformation that has pervaded nearly every aspect of human life in the twenty-first century carries implications that extend far beyond mere technological change. This shift reshapes the ways in which Muslims in Indonesia conduct dakwah (Islamic proselytisation), which has historically relied on face-to-face forums, religious study circles (majelis taklim), and Friday sermons. In the contemporary digital landscape, dakwah has evolved into digital content disseminated freely across platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, driven by the rapid growth of generative artificial intelligence most notably ChatGPT, launched by OpenAI in late 2022. This study examines the perceptions of dai (Islamic preachers) in Cirebon, West Java, toward the use of ChatGPT in the production of digital dakwah content, employing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as its analytical framework. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling, data were gathered from five informants through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and subsequently analysed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. Findings reveal that perceived usefulness is generally positive, particularly regarding content-production efficiency, whilst perceived ease of use varies substantially according to age and digital-literacy level. Three attitudinal typologies were identified: affirmative-pragmatic, critical-selective, and conservative-apprehensive, each grounded in distinct theological, epistemological, and ethical considerations. Behavioural intention to continue using ChatGPT is moderated by social norms within the religious community and the availability of institutional support.
