Abstract

The incidence of cyberbullying in adolescents is increasing. This is, in part, attributed to the progress of Science and Technology (IPTEK), which is inseparable from the negative impact of cyberbullying. The latter has become central to adolescent communication. Consequently, cyberbullying, especially among adolescents, demands serious attention for early intervention. The purpose of this study was to measure the level of cyberbullying among students at SMP IT Jambi City by implementing the Rasch Model, a modern theoretical approach enhancing the accuracy of measuring latent variables. The research included 91 students from classes VII and VIII, selected through proportional random sampling. Data collection employed the Cyber Victim and Bullying Scale (CVBS) with 28 questions. The Rasch Model analysis revealed a high level of cyberbullying among adolescents at SMP IT Jambi City, with 52.2% categorized as high and 47.8% as low. The results demonstrated high accuracy, evident in validity and reliability coefficients of 0.87 and 0.71, respectively. This research provides valuable information for stakeholders aiming to maintain a cyberbullying-free climate.

Abstract

Critical thinking in the concept of nursing philosophy in nursing is complex and is explained by various different definitions. These various definitions have caused confusion about what is meant by understanding the concept or model of nursing. Many literature reviews have examined nursing model theories and related definitions and measurements, but none offer a new perspective to view the same conclusion. The researcher looked at the use of the drilling method drill method to improve students' knowledge in the course of nursing philosophy and theoriesin. The research design used a pre-test and post-test without a control group, which is a design that treats one group without a comparison group. Respondents numbered 120 students who were members of the nursing theory class which were then divided into 4 large groups. The effectiveness of the treatment was assessed by comparing the post-test and pre-test scores. During this study, respondents will be given 6 learning sessions divided into 12 face-to-face meetings related to nursing theory, namely the theories of Florence Nightingale, Jean Orlando, Martha E Roger, and Watson. The results of the statistical test using the Wilcoxon test obtained a p value = 0.001, there was a significant difference in knowledge between before and after being given the Drilling Method. The knowledge of respondents after being given the Drilling Method showed a significant increase, so it is important to continue using the Drilling Method to improve knowledge and competence. The Drilling Method is an effective learning method to improve competence in the cognitive aspect. In the future, this method is expected to be applied in the learning process to improve the competence of nursing students in other courses.

Abstract

Hypertension is a medical condition that often requires long-term management to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Herbal therapy has become an intriguing focus of research in seeking effective and sustainable alternatives in lowering blood pressure. This literature review presents an analysis of seven scientific journals focusing on herbal therapy for hypertension. The study employs a Literature Review method by gathering articles from relevant journals. The review findings indicate that various herbal therapies, ranging from garlic combination herbal medicine, rosella flower decoction, green tea consumption, education on the use of gotu kola and turmeric leaves, to cucumber juice therapy, bay leaf, and papaya juice, have the potential to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The mechanisms of action of these herbs vary, including vasodilator, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. Based on the review of the seven published journals, it can be concluded that non-pharmacological therapy plays a significant role in hypertension treatment. These journals highlight the importance of considering comprehensive and individualized treatment options when managing hypertensive patients. Although the research methods vary, the results consistently indicate significant benefits of non-pharmacological treatment. However, further research is needed to validate these findings and expand our understanding of the efficacy and mechanisms of non-pharmacological treatments.

Abstract

Dengue fever is a deadly disease that attacks children and adults today. In Indonesia, dengue fever is still a health problem because there are still many areas where it is endemic. Dengue fever or DHF is a disease transmitted through mosquitoes that occurs in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. Common symptoms of dengue fever are high fever and flu-like symptoms. Meanwhile, in severe dengue fever, this condition can cause serious bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure (shock) and even death. Millions of cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever infection occur throughout the world every year. Dengue fever occurs most often in Southeast Asia, the western Pacific islands, Latin America and Africa. But now the disease has spread to new areas, including local outbreaks in Europe and the southern United States. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid mosquito bites and take steps to reduce mosquito populations. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is still a problem for most Indonesian people. Concerns about contracting diseases that originate from mosquito bites increase when the rainy season arrives. Early detection and late treatment result in an increase in cases ending in death. Keywords: Education, Prevention, DHF Mosquito

Abstract

Hypertension is a significant global public health concern that often remains asymptomatic in its early stages, emphasizing the need for proactive prevention and management strategies. This community service program, Together Against Hypertension, was conducted in Jambi City in collaboration with the Nursing Student Association of Universitas Jambi, aiming to enhance public awareness of hypertension and identify individuals at risk through targeted blood pressure screenings. The program employed a two-pronged approach: (1) educational sessions focused on the etiology, risk factors, complications, and prevention of hypertension, with an emphasis on lifestyle modifications; and (2) blood pressure screenings to detect undiagnosed hypertension or prehypertension cases within the community. Participants included diverse demographic groups, with nursing students acting as facilitators under professional supervision. The findings revealed that 35% of participants exhibited elevated blood pressure, with 20% previously unaware of their hypertensive status. Educational activities significantly improved participants' understanding of hypertension and its management, fostering greater adherence to regular monitoring and healthy behaviors. This initiative underscores the importance of community-based interventions in addressing hypertension and provides a scalable model for similar programs aimed at improving population health outcomes.
