Abstract

This paper presents a hardware inference accelerator architecture of quantized deep neural networks (DNN). The proposed accelerator implements all computation in a quantize version of DNN including linear transformations like matrix multiplications, nonlinear activation functions such as ReLU, quantization and dequantization operation. The hardware accelerator of quantized DNN consists of matrix multiplication core which is implemented in systolic array architecture, and the QDR core for computing the operation of quantization, dequantization, and ReLU. This proposed hardware architecture is implemented in Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL) code using modelsim. To validate, we simulated the quantized DNN using Python programming language and compared the results with our proposed hardware accelerator. The result of this comparison shows a very slight difference, confirming the validity of our quantized DNN hardware accelerator.

Abstract

Digital transformation has brought artificial intelligence (AI) into various sectors, including education. In this context, teachers are expected not only to understand the teaching content but also to utilize technology in a critical and contextual manner. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with Economics teachers who are members of the MGMP (Subject Teacher Forum) across South Sulawesi, aiming to explore the integration of AI in education. Using an Action Research (AR) approach, the program included basic AI concept training, prompt development workshops, and hands-on practice in creating AI-assisted teaching materials. The teachers actively engaged in designing learning content using tools such as ChatGPT, Notion AI, and Canva AI. Reflection and group discussions were integral parts of the collaborative learning process. The results show that the teachers were able to utilize AI technology in a contextual and creative way when developing instructional materials, and they demonstrated readiness to face the evolving landscape of educational technology.

Abstract

Convolution neural networks (CNN) have been widely applied for the computer vision task. However, the success of CNN is limited by the computational complexity of the network, so it is difficult for the model to run the inference process in real time. In this paper, we apply Strassen matrix multiplication to reduce multiplications in convolution operations in CNN, in order to get faster execution for CNN. First, we transform the convolution operation into a matrix multiplication operation using the Toeplitz mapping method, then after that, we apply the Strassen method to these matrices. In the end, we compare the number of arithmetic operations (multiplication and addition) in the convolutional layer using Strassen and the standard algorithm. We apply this algorithm implementation in convolution layers 1 and 3 in LeNet-5 Architecture.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung dan membaca siswa di Dusun Matteko Gowa melalui pendekatan yang menggabungkan keceriaan dalam pembelajaran. Dengan metode observasi, pelatihan, dan diskusi, hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan siswa, didukung oleh metode pembelajaran yang menarik. Hasil survei dan uji keterampilan memperlihatkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dan minat siswa, sementara komunitas melaporkan perubahan positif dalam keterampilan akademis anak-anak mereka. Meskipun dihadapi tantangan, pengabdian ini membuktikan bahwa mengintegrasikan keceriaan dalam pembelajaran dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar positif dan berkelanjutan, memberikan pandangan optimis tentang potensi pendidikan yang memadukan keceriaan dengan pembelajaran efektif. Kesimpulannya, pengabdian ini berhasil menciptakan perubahan positif dalam keterampilan dan semangat belajar siswa di Dusun Matteko Gowa.

Abstract

Integrasi media sosial dalam kehidupan sehari-hari telah membawa perubahan besar terhadap pola komunikasi masyarakat Indonesia. Media sosial bukan hanya menjadi sarana interaksi dan hiburan, tetapi juga berperan dalam penyebaran informasi, pendidikan, hingga peluang ekonomi. Namun, penggunaan yang tidak terarah dapat menimbulkan risiko, seperti kecanduan, cyberbullying, penyebaran misinformasi, dan ancaman keamanan data. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan mengenai penggunaan media sosial secara efektif serta dampaknya, baik positif maupun negatif, kepada masyarakat dan mahasiswa di Kabupaten Sinjai. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, pelatihan interaktif, pendampingan singkat, serta evaluasi. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta mengenai risiko digital, kesadaran terhadap dampak negatif, serta keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan media sosial secara produktif, misalnya untuk promosi usaha dan pengembangan jejaring sosial. Kegiatan diskusi memperlihatkan transformasi sikap peserta dari penggunaan yang konsumtif menuju pemanfaatan yang lebih produktif. Meskipun terdapat kendala berupa perbedaan keterampilan digital dan keterbatasan waktu praktik, kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi digital masyarakat. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini berkontribusi dalam membentuk sikap bijak, produktif, dan aman dalam bermedia sosial serta memberikan implikasi positif bagi peningkatan kualitas interaksi sosial dan kesejahteraan masyarakat.
