Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of adding NASA Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) supplements to the substrate on oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) growth and production. The research design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD), with four levels of treatment with the addition of NASA POC. The treatment doses used were 0% NASA POC as control (A), 2.5% NASA POC (B), 3% NASA POC (C), and 3.5% NASA POC (D). Each treatment was repeated four times to obtain 16 treatment units. Each treatment unit consisted of 5 Baglogs, so the total sample observed was 80 Baglogs. Based on the parameters observed in this study, including the length of mycelium spread (LPM), the beginning of the emergence of pinheads (AMP), the number of pinheads (JP), the diameter of the oyster mushroom hood (DTJT), and the weight of the oyster mushroom (BBJT), the addition of NASA POC on the substrate. Growth has no significant effect on the growth and production of oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Sword bean is a type of legume that has not been cultivated intensively. This plant can be developed as a companion or substitute for soybeans in the manufacture of tempeh, vegetable milk, tauco, soy sauce, various snacks, vegetable dishes, and various other processed foods. The production of sword beans is higher than soybeans and has some nutritional content which is also higher than soybeans. This study aims to determine the effect of fertilization on the growth and yield of sword beans. The study was designed in a randomized block design, consisting of three fertilization treatments and six replications. The results showed that fertilization affected the observation of plant height, the number of pods, pod length, and production. The highest production was obtained from the treatment of NPK fertilizer with a yield of 7.9 kg/plot or 3.6 tons/ha Keywords: rakara bedung, mecca nuts, machete nuts

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find out the effect of npk phonska fertilizer and cow manure on the growth and yield of eggplant plants (Solanum melongena L.). This study was carried out for 3 months, namely in March 2021 to June 2021 in Kamundu Village, Merauke Regency, using a random group design (RAK) with 7 treatments, 3 repetitions and 2 fertilizations. The results showed that the provision of NPK Phonska fertilizer had a real influence on plant height at the age of 7 DAP and 14 DAP, and on observations of the number of branches at the age of 21 DAP and 28 DAP. From the various treatments of NPK Phonska fertilizer and cow pen fertilizer, it can be seen that the number of fruits in the fertilization treatment of phonska is 100 kg / ha (E), fertilizing phonska 150 kg / ha (F), and fertilizing phonska 200 kg / ha (G) is above the average value with consecutive results of 11.21 fruits/plants, 12.54 fruits/plants, and 13.75 pieces/plants: while production that is above the average value is in the treatment of fertilizing phonska 150 kg/ha (F), and fertilizing phonska 200 kg/ha (G) with an average yield of 4.74 kg/plant and 5.57 kg/plant. Abstract

Bioaktivator adalah mikroorganisme yang dapat digunakan untuk mempercepat proses dekomposisi sampah organik maupun dapat diaplikasikan secara langsung pada tanah untuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah. Mikroorganisme berperan penting untuk mendukung kelestarian dan produktivitas agroekosistem. Pemakaian pupuk kimia berlebih dalam praktek budidaya tanaman dapat menurunkan status kesehatan tanah. Penggunaan pupuk organik dan bioaktivator tanaman yang tersedia secara komersiil, relative memberatkan bagi petani apabila harus diaplikasikan secara intensif, karena harganya cukup mahal untuk dijangkau petani. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan upaya alternatif untuk membantu masyarakat dalam mengembangkan pertanian di Kabupaten Merauke khususnya petani di Kampung Yasamulya SP 2 melalui peningkatan kompetensi masyarakat untuk mampu memproduksi bioaktivator tanaman maupun pupuk organic secara mandiri. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan teknik pembuatan bioaktivator yang dapat digunakan untuk pembuatan pupuk organik serta meningkatkan kesuburan tanah pada masyarakat di Kampung Yasa Mulya SP 2. Berdasarkan kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini mendapat apresiasi dan respon positif dari masyarakat serta berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat yaitu pengetahuan tentang bioaktivator sebanyak 60%, cara membuat bioaktivator sebanyak 80%, manfaat bioaktivator sebanyak 60%, kelebihan dan kekurangan pupuk kimia sebanyak 40%, serta mengenai manfaat pupuk organic sebanyak 10%.

Abstract

Kelurahan Kamundu, merupakan wilayah administratif yang terletak di pusat Kabupaten Merauke, Papua. Penduduk di kelurahan ini didominasi oleh orang asli Papua yang sebagian besar termasuk dalam kelompok masyarakat pra sejahterah. Sektor pertanian menjadi salah satu sektor yang berpotensi meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Papua, namun hal ini menghadapi sejumlah kendala. Kendala tersebut antara lain kondisi lahan yang sebagian besar termasuk lahan marginal miskin hara dengan iklim yang cenderung kering, serta masih rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat asli Papua terkait praktik budidaya tanaman. Salah satu metode yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengatasi kendala lahan dan iklim tersebut adalah budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik. Dibutuhkan pelatihan dan pendampingan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat mengenai budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah kelompok masyarakat asli Papua di Kelurahan Kamundu Merauke. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat asli Papua di Kelurahan Kamundu mengenai budidaya tanaman khususnya cabai secara hidroponik dengan metode Dutch Bucket System (DBS), dan menyediakan satu unit instalasi hidroponik DBS dengan kapasitas 20 tanaman sebagai wadah pembelajaran masyarakat. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan meningkatnya animo masyarakat asli Papua terhadap kegiatan bercocok tanam secara umum dan hidroponik secara khusus, dan meningkatnya pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai hidroponil metode DBS.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the adaptability of 2 new lines of rice tested in saline soils. This research was carried out for 3 months, from June to August 2018, in Bokem Village, Merauke District. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) using 2 new rice lines and 2 varieties, namely Mekongga and Inpari 35 varieties. The number of treatments used in this study were 4 treatments with 4 replications. The number of experimental plots is 16 plots. The results showed that 2 new rice lines adapted to the vegetative and generative phases, i.e., line 1 had an effect on plant height (14 and 35 days after planting), number of tillers (14 days after planting and 35 days after planting) and flowering age (65 days after planting), and line 2 had an effect on productive tillers variable (12.9), 1000 grain weight (25.20) and ton/ha (4.60 kg). Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the primary commodity for the Indonesian people because most of the Indonesian population depends on rice. The armyworm pests Spodoptera litura causes irregular holes in the leaves, thus disrupting the photosynthesis process and reducing rice production, so it is necessary to treat the pest. Bacillus thuringiensis is a pathogenic bacterium for insects, such as S. litura. This study aimed to look at the effectiveness of B. thuringiensis on the mortality of S. litura on a laboratory and field scale. The research was conducted in the Agrotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Musamus University. The research design was a complete randomized design (RAL). The research study was conducted on five treatment doses of B. thuringiensis, which were 20 g/500 ml of water; 40g/500 ml of water; 60 g/500 ml of water; 80 g/500 ml of water; 100 g/500 ml of water. Each treatment was repeated five times. The results showed that, applying B. thuringiensis can significantly decrease the population and intensity of S. litura. The highest mortality rate in laboratory trials was observed at a dose of 100 grams/500 ml of water, with 50 dead individuals. In contrast, the lowest mortality rate was recorded at a dose of 20 gram of material/500ml of water, with only 12 death S. litura larvae. In field testing, the best dose was 50 gram/14 liters of water, and it caused the death of 50 S. litura larvae. Spraying B. thuringiensis on rice plants can reduce the population and intensity of S. litura.

Abstract

Hydroponic vegetable cultivation has the potential to be developed in Merauke Regency, including in Yasa Mulya Village, Tanah Miring District, Merauke Regency, Papua. This training aims to increase public interest and knowledge about hydroponic vegetable cultivation. The target of this activity is the residents of Yasa Mulya Village. The training which was attended by 22 participants was carried out using lecture methods, demonstrations and direct practice of hydroponic wick systems by the trainees. From the implementation of this activity, it can be concluded that the residents of Yasa Mulya Village have a high interest in cultivating vegetables hydroponically, and the training activities that have been carried out can significantly increase public knowledge about hydroponics. Budidaya sayur secara hidroponik sangat potensial dikembangkan di Kabupaten Merauke, termasuk di Kampung Yasa Mulya, Distrik Tanah Miring, Kabupaten Merauke, Papua. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai budidaya tanaman sayuran secara hidroponik. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah warga Kampung Yasa Mulya. Pelatihan yang diikuti oleh 22 peserta ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi dan praktik langsung hidroponik sistem wick oleh peserta pelatihan. Dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan warga Kampung Yasa Mulya memiliki ketertarikan yang tinggi untuk melakukan budidaya tanaman sayuran secara hidroponik, dan kegiatan pelatihan yang telah dilakukan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai hidroponik secara signifikan.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the community's understanding and skills in cultivating vegetables using MGorS (Microgreen or Sprout) technology at the ABBA Orphanage and Annajah Yamra Islamic Boarding School, Merauke Regency. Considering the increasing use of chemicals in conventional agriculture which have the potential to contaminate harvests, this activity was carried out to provide a solution by prioritizing healthy and sustainable cultivation techniques. Through socialization, training, planting and maintenance, evaluation, and coaching, participants are guided in two important aspects: production and management. The evaluation results showed that the ABBA Orphanage scored 75 in its ability to produce vegetables independently. At the same time, the Annajah Yamra Islamic Boarding School managed to achieve a score of 80. Although both partners achieved targets in several aspects, there was a lack of understanding regarding sustainability in cultivation. Recommendations for additional training and mentoring in the field are proposed to improve learning and future application of MGorS technology.

Abstract

Kampung Isano Mbias merupakan salah satu kampung yang terdapat di Distrik Tanah Miring Kabupaten Merauke Provinsi Papua Selatan. Masyarakat Kampung Isano Mbias mayoritas berprofesi sebagai petani. Salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh petani adalah pupuk. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap manfaat pupuk organic serta cara perbanyakan inoculum mikroorganisme yang diperlukan dalam pembuatan pupuk organic. Metode kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Sosialisasi diberikan sebagai bentuk edukasi kepada masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan pupuk organic dalam memelihara kesuburan tanah dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Selanjutnya dilakukan pelatihan perbanyakan inoculum mikroorganisme decomposer yang digunakan dalam proses pembuatan pupuk organic misalnya kompos. Inokulum mikroorganisme berperan sebagai decomposer dalam pembuatan kompos maupun pupuk organic lain yang melibatkan proses fermentasi. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan antusiasme dan respon positif dari masyarakat serta dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap pengertian dan manfaat pupuk organic, peranan mikroorganisme dalam menjaga kesuburan tanah, fungsi inoculum mikrooganisme decomposer dalam pembuatan pupuk organic, serta cara perbanyakannya. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini dapat mendorong masyarakat untuk mengoptimalkan pengelolaan lahan pertaniannya secara ramah lingkungan. Kata Kunci: Pupuk organic, decomposer, mikroorganisme, inoculum, fermentasi
