Abstract

This study examines the lack of comprehension among students regarding subject matter that is highly relevant to their daily lives, emphasising the importance of their understanding. The encounter with diverse situations outside the classroom is a common experience for students; however, the insufficient availability of learning tools, unappealing media, and inadequate utilisation of school facilities contribute to their limited understanding. To address this issue, learning films are proposed as an alternative media to enhance student engagement, serve as effective learning materials, and make use of school resources such as projectors. The aim of this research is to create and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional video media with a diversity theme in improving learning outcomes among class III elementary school students. The design and development (D&D) method, specifically the PPE development model, was utilised in this study, involving three stages: planning, development, and evaluation. The input of media experts, material experts, and learning experts was sought to assess the feasibility of the learning videos. The results indicated that the learning films received a feasibility rating of 95% in the "extremely feasible" category, affirming their suitability for educational settings. Experts predicted that the implementation of learning films could significantly enhance student learning outcomes. The methodology encompassed data collection through the D&D method, including planning and conducting evaluations by experts, as well as the subsequent analysis and interpretation of the results. Ultimately, this study aims to improve the actual learning outcomes of class III elementary school students through the utilisation of instructional video media with a diversity theme.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of multicultural attitude of PGSD students of the State University of Surabaya through the application of the Multicultural Education Model based on Value Inquiry. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach which is carried out in two cycles. The research data was obtained from a multicultural attitude with data sources (subjects) of 40 PGSD UNESA students  in the Even Semester (IV) of the 2024/2025 Academic Year in the Elementary Social Studies Dimension Development course. The main instrument used was a multicultural attitude observation sheet. The data analysis used is descriptive, quantitative and qualitative, namely presenting numbers and then describing them. The results showed an increase in the average score from 14,575 (72,875%) in cycle I to 16,075 (80,375%) in cycle II. In addition, classical completeness also increased from 72.5% to 92.5%. All indicators experienced an increase in scores, with the highest indicators on the aspects of empathy and social justice. The conclusion of this study shows that the Multicultural Education Model based on Value Inquiry is  effective in shaping the multicultural attitude of PGSD Unesa  students as a whole, through a dialogical, reflective, and value-based learning process.

Abstract

Abstract This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Pegirian II Surabaya in the subject of light properties, where only 23% of students achieved the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM) of 85. This issue is believed to be related to the teaching methods used, which are insufficiently varied and tend to be passive, leading to difficulties for students in understanding concepts such as reflection, refraction, and the color spectrum. To address this problem, the study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the experimental method in improving students' learning outcomes. The study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. In the first cycle, students performed experiments with guidance from the teacher, while in the second cycle, students conducted experiments independently using Student Worksheets (LKPD). The results showed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes. Before the intervention, the majority of students did not meet the KKM, but after the first cycle, 50% of students achieved the KKM, which increased to 70% in the second cycle. Some students who initially scored very low also showed significant improvement, although there was variation in students' responses to this method. The study concludes that the experimental method is effective in enhancing students' understanding and learning outcomes in the subject of light properties and recommends its implementation in science teaching at the elementary level to create a more interactive and meaningful learning experience.

Abstract

The lack of variation in approaches, methods and even media used by educators in the learning process means that learning activities tend to be conventional and teacher-centered. This research uses classroom action research (PTK) which is carried out in 3 cycles consisting of 4 stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Learning in this research was carried out using the TaRL approach, and the subjects of this research were class II students, totaling 27 children. Data collection techniques in research are observation and tests. The results of this study showed an increase at the start of pre-action. The percentage of participation and motivation to learn was 42.62% in cycle 1 of the first meeting after implementing the action. The percentage increased to 49.35% byimplementing the TaRL approach. Increased to 54.48% in cycle 1 session two, increased to 60.89% in cycle II session one, increased to 68.26% in cycle 2 session two, and increased to 73.07% in cycle 3 session 1, cycle 3 sessions two increased 80.12%. And the results of the action on student participation and learning motivation before the action showed that the percentage of student completion was 15.38%. However, after taking action in Cycle I, participation and motivation to learn increased by 34.61%. In cycle II the completion rate increased to 53.84%, and in cycle III it increased further with a completion rate of 80.76%. Based on the research results, it appears that implementing learning using the TaRL approach can increase student participation and learning motivation in Pancasila Education learning.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of active learning among class V students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya. This happens because teachers are still too monotonous in applying learning methods and media. The aim of this research is to increase student learning activity in the classroom learning process through the application of a gamified learning method based on the interactive educational game Educaplay. This research uses the Classroom Action Research method in two cycles. Each cycle is carried out with four stages of activity, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects in this research were class V students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya with a total of 30 students. The results of the pre-cycle research showed that the average result of student activity was 34.9%, while in cycle I the percentage was 56.7% and increased by 80.7% in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of gamified learning methods based on the Educaplay media platform can increase the learning activity of class V students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of learning of students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya because the learning methods used by teachers are less varied, namely lectures and questions and answers, so that students are less active in learning activities. The use of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) towards the use of the PBL learning model is intended so that students play a greater role in solving problems actively and collaboratively in their group members. Therefore, there needs to be innovative learning that encourages students to be actively involved in the learning process, namely the use of wordwall learning media. PTK is carried out with four important stages, namely observation, observation, test results through learning quizzes, and documentation. Classroom action research with research subjects of class IV-D students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya totaling 25 students consisting of 14 males and 11 females. The data collection method in this study used observation and documentation. The instrument used was the student activity observation sheet.

Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of improving student learning outcomes by implementing the media (MONAS) "Monopoly on Norms in Society in the Pancasila education subject for class V elementary school. This research uses the type of classroom action research (PTK). This research was carried out in two cycles consisting of 2 meetings through 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects in this research were students in class V of Elementary School at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya, totaling 32 students. The data analysis technique used in this research is a qualitative descriptive data analysis technique. The results of student observations in cycle I reached 86%, then increased to 96% in cycle II. This percentage gain shows an increase of 10%. The percentage of classical learning completion for class V students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya in cycle I was 3.33%, and increased again in cycle II to 93%. This percentage shows an increase of 90% compared to the previous cycle. From these results it can be concluded that by implementing the media "MONAS" (Monopoly Norms in Society) can improve student learning outcomes in class V Norm material at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of implementing a differentiated learning approach on the improvement of learning outcomes for fifth-grade students in mathematics. This research is motivated by the significant variation in students' learning abilities, which impacts the disparity in learning outcomes in the classroom. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, where each cycle consists of the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted at SDN DUPAK 1 Surabaya with the research subjects being the fifth-grade class V-D, which consists of 33 students. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research through differentiated learning show that there is an improvement in student learning outcomes as seen from the pre-cycle activities, where the completeness of student learning outcomes increased from 36% to 58% in cycle I. Then, in cycle II, it increased to 85% in terms of student learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that implementing differentiated learning can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics on the topics of LCM and GCF for fifth grade at SDN DUPAK 1 Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' learning interest in Grade II students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya. The subjects of this study were 24 Grade II students. The method used was classroom action research. Data collection was conducted using instruments, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that in Cycle I, the average score of learning interest was 78.67, and in Cycle II, it was 84.75. These results indicate a change, with an increase in the average score from 78.67 to 84.75. The researcher targeted a final average score of 80 by the end of the cycle, and the result exceeded 80, meaning that students' learning interest improved significantly. Qualitative analysis results demonstrated that the use of audiovisual media could enhance students' learning interest. Students were able to focus their attention throughout the learning activities. They participated in the learning process with joy, enthusiasm, and energy. Therefore, it can be concluded that audiovisual media can increase the learning interest of Grade II students at SDN Dupak 1 Surabaya.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi di SDN Wonorejo 274 Surabaya, didapatkan informasi bahwa masih kurangnya minat dan hasil belajar yang rendah peserta didik terhadap materi penjumlahan pecahan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran PBL (problem based learning) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan metagkognitif peserta didik pada materi penjumlahan pecahan melalui media palingan buaya (papan lingkaran pecahan budaya Surabaya). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) rata-rata persentase penerapan model pembelajaran PBL adalah 85% (sangat baik) (2) Aktivitas peserta didik terlaksana dengan baik setelah mengikuti model pembelajaran PBL dengan persentase sebesar 89,63% (3) Pada angket respon peserta didik, model pembelajaran yang diterapkan mempengaruhi minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik, dan 4) Keterampilan metakognitif peserta didik mengalami peningkatan: pada pra-siklus, hasil belajar peserta didik memiliki persentase daya serap individual sebesar 62% dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal 40% dan daya serap klasikal 58%. Pada siklus I, persentase daya serap individual peserta didik sebesar 74 dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal 60% dan daya serap klasikal 76%. Pada siklus II, persentase daya serap individual peserta didik sebesar 90% dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal 96% dan daya serap klasikal 94%.
