Abstract

This study aims to describe the resilience of students in mastering Arabic vocabulary (mufradat) among eighth-grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Islamiyah Medan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects were eighth-grade students, with Arabic teachers as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that student resilience was reflected in active perseverance, courage in facing mistakes, emotional regulation skills, and readiness to adjust learning strategies when facing difficulties in mastering mufradat. This resilience is formed through the interaction of internal factors, such as religious motivation and self-confidence, as well as external factors in the form of support from teachers, peers, and a supportive madrasah environment. This study confirms that resilience plays an important role in the successful mastery of vocabulary and needs to be strengthened through adaptive and supportive Arabic language learning practices.

Abstract

General background: The Qur’an, as a central religious text, employs linguistic precision in conveying divine messages. Specific background: Among the vocabulary used, the terms Al-Khabar and Al-Nabāʾ are often considered synonymous but contain nuanced differences that impact interpretation. Knowledge gap: Existing studies overlook the semantic and contextual distinctions between these two terms in Qur’anic discourse. Aims: This study aims to analyze the linguistic and semantic differences between Al-Khabar and Al-Nabāʾ through a qualitative approach using semantic and comparative methods. Results: The research reveals that while both terms relate to the concept of “news” or “information,” Al-Nabāʾ specifically refers to information that is highly important, beneficial, and carries profound implications, whereas Al-Khabar lacks such mandatory characteristics. Novelty: This study uniquely highlights that Al-Nabāʾ must fulfill three specific criteria—importance, utility, and the ability to produce knowledge or certainty—making it more exclusive in its Qur’anic application. Implications: These findings contribute to deeper Qur’anic linguistic studies and assist interpreters in making more accurate semantic distinctions, thus enhancing the integrity of exegesis and linguistic analysis of the Qur’an.Highlight : The study focuses on the differences in meaning between Al-Khabar and Al-Nabāʾ in the Qur'an. Al-Nabāʾ has specific characteristics: it is important, useful, and generates knowledge. It uses a descriptive and comparative approach based on literature studies. Keywords : Al-Khabar, Al-Nabāʾ, Synonym, Semantic, Qur'an

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive review of the protection of women's rights within the framework of Islamic Family Law (IFL) in Indonesia. The study examines the historical development of IFL, its interaction with national legislation, and the jurisprudence of the Religious Courts. The research employs a qualitative approach, analyzing relevant legal documents, scholarly articles, and court decisions. The findings reveal a complex interplay of religious interpretations, cultural norms, and legal reforms. While significant progress has been made in recognizing and protecting women's rights, challenges persist due to patriarchal interpretations, societal biases, and the influence of conservative groups. The article highlights the role of legal support structures, women's movements, and progressive interpretations of Islamic texts in advocating for gender equality. It also explores the impact of legal reforms on issues such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and child custody. The conclusion underscores the need for continued efforts to ensure that IFL aligns with principles of justice, equality, and human rights, emphasizing the importance of legislative reform, judicial activism, and community engagement to empower women and promote their well-being.

Abstract

This study examines the meaning of the word al-hawā  in the Qur'an, the perspective of Tafsir Fi Zhilalil Qur'an by Sayyid Quthb and its relevance to Adultery. The phrase al-hawā  is one of the important terms in the Qur'an that has various meanings and moral implications in human life. In the Qur'an, al-hawā is not only understood as a desire or impulse of the soul, but also as an inner tendency that if not controlled can drag people to moral deviations, including adultery. This study aims to analyze Sayyid Quthb's interpretation of the pronunciation of al-hawā, understand its implications on human behavior, and explain its relevance to the phenomenon of Adultery in the moral and spiritual perspective of Islam. This research is a library research with a qualitative approach and thematic method (maudhu'i). The primary data source is Tafsir Fi Zhilalil Qur'an by Sayyid Quthb, while secondary data sources come from relevant tafsir books, books, and scientific literature. The data analysis technique was carried out through descriptive-analytical analysis of the verses of the Qur'an that contain the utterance of al-hawā. The results of the study show that Sayyid Quthb interprets al-hawā  as the desire of the soul that tends to drive people to transgressions, acts beyond the limits, and disobedience. According to him, following the hawā of lust is the root of moral and civilizational damage, when hawā is used as a standard of truth instead of revelation, injustice, moral deviation, and the destruction of the social order are born. Its relevance to Adultery lies in the view that it is a manifestation of the domination of lust over faith and reason. Therefore, controlling the desires of lust by structurally improving the order of life can prevent the occurrence of adultery.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the phenomenon of ljaz Al-Bayani in the Al- Quran, which refers to the special features of language and word formation which are considered as evidence of the divinity of the Al-Quran in Islamic beliefs. This concept involves two important aspects: first, "ljaz" which denotes lying or guaranteeing humans to emulate or imitate, and second, "Al-Bayani" which refers to expression or embodying. This research uses qualitative methods with a focus on literature study as the main informant. Data collection techniques by collecting journals, books, and articles that support this research. The study's conclusion demonstrates that the idea of Ijaz Al-Bayani is implied by the following three factors (1) the Quran's intricate structure; (2) the accuracy with which words are chosen and the congruence of meaning and truth. Evidence of the human race's incapacity to equal the magnificence of the Qur'an in its succession (nadzam), which is exclusive to the Quran and fortifies the conviction that the message it contains is both profound and true.

Abstract

State Islamic Higher Education (PTKIN) in Indonesia has transformed into inclusive higher education institutions that accommodate students from diverse religious backgrounds. However, the dominance of Islamic Studies within the curriculum presents unique academic and socio-cultural challenges for non-Muslim students, particularly in terms of comprehension, participation, and identity negotiation. This study aims to explore the adaptation strategies employed by non-Muslim students in engaging with Islamic Studies at PTKIN. A qualitative research design was adopted to capture in-depth experiences and perspectives. Data were collected through interviews and observations involving 18 participants, comprising 15 non-Muslim students and 3 university leaders. The data analysis followed a systematic process of categorization, interpretation, pattern identification, and naturalistic generalization. The findings reveal that non-Muslim students employ two main adaptation strategies: conformity and consistency. Conformity strategies include cognitive, affective, social, and learning adjustments that facilitate academic engagement. Meanwhile, consistency strategies enable students to maintain their personal religious beliefs while participating in Islamic learning environments. In conclusion, the study highlights the dynamic negotiation between adaptation and identity preservation among non-Muslim students. The findings imply that Islamic higher education institutions should foster inclusive pedagogical practices, supportive academic environments, and culturally responsive policies to enhance equity and participation in Islamic education.
